What torrent sites do you recommend for films?
With Kick Ass Torrents dead I'm at a loss for more commercial, art house or classic stuff.
Also, http://horrorcharnel.org/signup.php is now open for sign ups. Great place for horror, though the place is in need of a revamp.

THC is okay but I like Cinemageddon better. You can probably get invited there if you build up a nice ratio.
For most downloading I use movie sharing forums. It's more time-consuming to download a list of links than one torrent. But I'm patient. With public torrents there's always a chance that you'll to get a warning from your ISP. With file hosters that's very unlikely.
As for arthouse and classic, Karagarga used to be the only place to get rare films online. But now there are a lot of alternatives. Surrealmoviez is VG IMHO. Half the time rare films are even on youtube (image quality not always good).

How does one even go about getting in? A friend of mine who has an account says it's nearly impossible to get an invite nowadays.

Is any anon willing to invite to KG or some tracker with good quality rips of arthouse films?
The usual way (>>7642) is starting to lack films more often than not these days.

No need for it. Whenever an art house film is uploaded to HDB, it finds its way to Cinematik soon enough. Even the "HDB exclusives" are on there.

Cinematik is "untouched" rips of DVD and blurays so I don't use it much these days. Smaller mkvs work better for me. I have way too much to watch as it is.
I got invited from IRC but that was loooooong ago. I don't know if it would work anymore.

You could try their IRC over at irc://irc.cinematik.net/cinematik
They occasionally hand out invites to people knowledgeable enough. No idea if they are WCD as I'm not on there (Soulseek makes music trackers irrelevant).

If I watch a film for the first time, I always want to see it the best available quality. TIK is perfect for that.

I've had to start compromising because of space. I used to burn DVDs all the time but now I only watch rips.
Do you burn blurays or do you have a big stash of hard drives?

Oh, that's not the proper site for me then. I have a lot of HD space but it's all taken by remuxes already and I have hard time deleting even one of them. Been downloading just smaller encodes for a while now from publics.
Downloaded Horse Money from some random magnet link that I found, I guess from here? or Google search. I was crossing my fingers it would actually be the film and not some weird porn from SEA.

No, I always delete the DVD-R/Blu after I've watched it. I've only kept the untouched Blu of some 20 odd films. I do have a lot of DVD-R's still, but they don't take up a lot of space IMO. In total, I have about 5 TB HD space, not that much really. It's only 3 hard drives.

I wish I could into file deletion but I have urge to save the ones I like. I just like to rewatch a scene or two of them from time to time.
I would probably burn them if I had a DVD/BR player in my computer but I tore it out so that I could fit bigger fans.

Oh, let me explain, I do archive the films I like, but I download a smaller rip to save HD space. Only the films that I really, really love I keep an untouched copy of.
You only rewatch particular scenes from time to time? You never watch the whole film again? I've seen my favorite films numerous times. I love rewatching them.

So I can invite you to secret cinema or cinemageddon (whichever you'd prefer) if you are interested and have an email.

The long standing truth is that the idea that public trackers will get you in trouble is silly. I've used them for a long long time and you know what? Haven't had a virus in 16 years, haven't been contacted by my internet service provider, and I've torrented terabytes upon terabytes.
