All very good dramas with a light comedic element that is integrated into the story and often pops up unexpectedly. The quality of humor in films like this is light years beyond most pure comedy flicks.

I saw Brazil only once, long ago with a crowd. But I remember a lot of laughter. I'd say Terry Gilliam often inserts comedy into his films.
How about Alfred Hitchcock's only comedy, Mr. and Mrs. Smith? (I still haven't had a chance to watch it.)

How about Ealing Comedies? I don't know if the stock company of actors count as comedians or not. At any rate serious thespians like David Niven and Alec Guinness were involved.

Okay, two of the most important writer-directors were Preston Sturges and Billy Wilder. Both were very skilled at writing and had a knack for creating funny material. See: Sullivan's Travels, The Apartment.
Regarding Sturges, I wasn't a huge fan of The Lady Eve but I still want to check out The Great McGinty and The Miracle of Morgan Creek (Hayes Code subversion).

The Ealing comedies were great too. The Ladykillers will always be my favourite, closely followed by The Lavender Hill Mob.

Humor with subtitles is tricky because important nuance will be inevitably lost in translation. But I'd say this one is still worth watching…if nothing else to experience what a Soviet comedy is like.
Maybe it uses comedian actors, I honestly don't know

I like to watch older comedies that violate the taboos of today. If an old movie could not be made again because of its objectionable content, I want to see it.
Bad New Bears includes a lot of irresponsible behavior such as kids drinking beer. In the remake, the kids drink … non-alcoholic beer.
Candy is another one that might not fly today – it's probably too rapey. But if you like Terry Southern you should check it out. It's full of cameos.

All Encore Presentations have been cancelled due to zero logged-in viewers (other than me) to talk to. Sorry Europe, I tried. I gave it six or seven tries, in fact. It just isn't drawing enough people for me to justify it any longer.
Due to utterly disappointing turnout and a lack of chatter, I am cutting back to one Movie Night every two weeks as well. If the next one is similarly unpopular, I'll go to once every three or four weeks.

It started as an attempt to post to an on-topic thread, with a movie night announcement I have since deleted (for being out of date), but that involved at least some movies that fit the requested topic.
Not long before that, I had received a request from what I presume to be the board owner, asking me to keep these announcements to a single thread in order to not push other traffic off the board.
How am I supposed to reconcile the conflicting interests here? You don't want new threads for stream announcements, yet you also don't want the thread to drift off topic. Since I don't run the same theme or the same type of films all the time, I don't see any way I can honor both conditions simultaneously.

Miquette et sa mere is like watching a funny play. The actors play it big. But I just read that
