Best to avoid most of what is nominated at these award events. The selections are very political with a lot of studio pressure involved, which is why you see the same dozen films listed over and over. And all the "independent" studios are just subsidiaries of big media companies.
The whole awards circuit seems like a sophisticated means of promotion targeted at people who can't be fooled by slick trailers anymore.
I'd still watch a PTA movie though
