But why? Why use Tarkovsky to advertise? Why invite the lowest common denominator of people in?

Because when I tried shilling it with pics of less known directors nobody showed up. And Tarkovsky is easily among the best pleb filter classic directors.

Tark is like Plato. You start with him when learning about philosophy and then only once you've reached its end you return to him and realize just how next level he was.

If you've used 'indie' to describe this film it's pretty clear that you're a major pleb without even a basic grasp of film related terminology and of course haven't seen it, but that goes without saying. Don't know when did this board get infested with plebs like you, thankfully it appears to be mostly limited to posters with american flags, that's sort of expected I guess.

Look at posts made in 2014 of people actually enjoying 2001:A Space Odyssey, this place was always full of plebs and now that you're here, has reached maximum overdrive.

No, actually the board was pretty great at first, and its very first filmclub was dedicated to discussing the very same kind of "indieshit" as this discord. Of course eventually an influx of plebs who think that shitting on Tarkovsky and 2001 somehow makes them 'patrician' happened, and having such godawful opinions somehow became acceptable.

Sorry for the blank previous post I pressed enter by mistake.
So I take it criticism has no value to the board according to you? The way I see it your little club is dedicated to finding films as obscure as possible to try and seem like they're """"partrician""" and have I doubt they share any opinions with such basic cookie cutter films, I tried watching one of your films, it looks like a wannabe Tarkovsky, not even the good kind but I doubt you will understand who I refer to with this statement,so it's not indie shit it's worse.

The way I see it making the discord was a great idea if what was supposed to be refuge from plebs on halfchan became home to people who think that those movies are 'as obscure as possible' and whose only point of reference to them are Tarkovsky.

No point in marketing it here then huh dumbass?
>became home to people who think that those movies are 'as obscure as possible'
That's you, the movies you showed I had no clue existed but after watching one and confirming my claim that it's shit you proved to me your community has little to no knowledge in anything and is scratching the bottom of the barrel to try and find something.
>and whose only point of reference to them are Tarkovsky.
You brought up Tarkovsky in the op dumbass, that's what ticked me off in the first place, you wanna hear another directors name besides him? Here's one you prbably jack off to on your spare time: Michael Snow, now come back to me when you've found a film that isn't Michael Snow shit tier and then you have a right to speak.

There are still some genuinely great posts about interesting movies on here so I don't really mind advertising. But if I have to be honest at this point I'm pretty much ready to check up on this thread just to see what some butthurt pleb who thinks that the stuff we've been filmclubbing so far is even in the same ballpark as Michael Snow came up with next.

Okay so if we want to continue this debate, which I don't this has become tiring and tedious, let me explain.
I never said you discuss Snow tier films I implied you probably considered them the best film had to offer, it was an insult because Snow is what someone with knowledge makes when they have a misconstrued concept of what film is.
Second, there really aren't and I find it ironic you keep using that word.

I went into the server for less than an hour and found at least two people unironically defending Snow, neither of us knew the other existed, God himself has proven my point. Albeit the man who called Snow out was a Griffithfag but never the less the fact that people unironically tried to defend Snow and his style of destructural film making proves to me you have a entirely incorrect way of approaching film irregardless of how many films you look at. I tried watching August In The Water and after I was done I just left, I'm going to stop replying now because I have better things to do than play chess with a chicken, enjoy your little film club, you know something... I think you're right, this is the perfect place to advertise it! Sorry I ever questioned you.
