zizek has some interesting ideas that are unforunately almost completely useless. He is praised for the insights of saying things like, "Donald Trump represents a rise in nationalism in the world. Nationalism is bad," because nobody should care about themselves or where they live, they should always be willing to sacrifice everything they've worked for to someone else, because how else will communism work?

That sounds like imperialism, when poor British common-folk would enlist to fight in foreign wars because there was no hope for them at home (poverty in Britain prior to the 20th century was so bad, young men would have growth spurts just from vile army rations vs the destitution back home) and all at the behest of a minority of already wealthy proprietors and work shy leaches (inherited wealth).
Do you really believe the Opium Wars or the British Raj were in the interests of the common British man?
