Rooftop Run, Planet Wisp, and Snow Level have been officially revealed. A magazine scan showed a 'cutscene' (text on a static screen) with Sonic talking at a beach, so there might be a beach level. Green Hill and Chemical Plant are almost certainly going to be in the game because of course they are so make that six levels we know of so far. They also said at some point there's going to be 21 different tracks spread across 7 different locations.

Yes? But what does that have to do with Aaron? Europe can make decisions and so can Aaron independently of each other. Both of their actions can affect the games. SoE can affect the actual development and sales. Aaron apparently affects the DLC and marketing. He obviously had something to do with the Sanic DLC. He's the loudest person at Sega when it comes to memes and the only one talking about Game Grumps there. He was also given a copy of Forces working script to make comments on. Sega obviously cares about his opinions and he obviously has some kind of power when it comes to the content in the games. Probably not a lot of power but it's definitely something given Sanic and the GG reference and their inclusion of them in Mania's credits.

he was given a leadership position for Secret Rings because he was a senior employee at Sammy before the merger. It was received well and sold well so he stayed on for Black Knight. Then for god knows why was given the role of director for Colors. Probably nepotism. Colors was received ridiculously well by critics and sold well so they kept him for Lost World. Sega probably thought that was a fluke so they kept him again for Forces. Hopefully they axe him this time

How would you feel if they dropped the use of the Chaos Emeralds, if it meant Sonic was now powerful enough on his own to transform into it by himself, like the inspiration it's based on?
In other words, do you think Super Forms should be native to the character (Like how Iizuka implies only male hedgehogs can go super) and CE are just used for raw power to fuel them, or should the emeralds be the indicator it grants this power? With how in Forces Sonic states he gets more powerful by the sec and how in Generations Boosting Sonic can kill off Perfect Chaos when it originally took Super Sonic to do so, Boost era Sonic might as well be Super Sonic imo. And Forces kinda makes it apparent when he doesn't even change much speed wise in Forces doing so either.

You know you say this, but Forces isn't the first game to do this you know. It was Sonic Colors first, then Lost World… in fact it's ANY Kishimoto game he directed that hasn't use the Chaos Emeralds at all. Even as far back as Secret Rings.
It's almost as if he either never understood them narratively, or he hates them because it's not his own invention, like those 7 Rings things he did in Secret Rings.

What's funny is I can kinda write it off not using them in his directed games prior to Forces. The storybook games, Colors, and Lost World all take place in foreign locations where they might not have been easily accessible. But there's no excuse for Forces, especially with the stakes of the story and the location of it being on Sonic's planet unless they really wanted to go the route of them being an Earth-only thing.
I just want some goddamn lore consistency and it makes me mad that Sonic Team doesn't.

If 3D animation like this can exist, wouldn't it be easily to do this for Sonic games? It's in Japanese, so it isn't expensive, and 2D Sonic artstyles are universally considered better looking than the 3D models most of the time. So why not merge it in the middle?

Probably because a lot of people left. The Kishimoto era games have been weak in every area. People who were into things like animations and sprite fights probably enjoyed the worldbuilidng, stories, cutscenes, etc. non-gameplay aspects of the games and those have been garbage for so long. It's not that people are lazy. It's just that they're starved for content and inspiration.

I can't even replay it anymore because of all of the above, and knowing supporting that game over Unleashed by the masses just makes me want to quit being a Sonic fan deep down. I will be fair. At the time there was a LOT of hatred towards things like gimmicky gameplay, with Secret Rings, Heroes team gameplay, Shadow gunplay & when Unleashed came out, it pretty much fell to people being sick of that sort of thing in nearly every Sonic game with the Werehog being such a big part of the title. Not to say the Werehog/Unleashed was perfect by any means, but it was honestly not that bad.
But yeah, I think the game got way too much hatred at its release & did a lot of things right.

Who cares if people call me a classic fag just because I like classic era games, I'd make fan games off of that era I had fun times with, and this is not even just for Sonic, I do it for other frachises too. And overall, I'm not just a classic era fan either, so I find it weird imo.
