Jazz is good for BGM because it's imprivized. Because it goes all over the place, it doesn't distract the reader that much because the reader won't attempt to listen ahead of the loop. Well, all non-vocal BGM benefit from this more or less which is why BGMs don't have vocals. But jazz is still supreme for leisurely (non-action) BGM.
I think you got the music side handled properly so all that needs to improve is the graphical arts. But even that can go with placeholders in the alpha/beta versions so there's really no hurry.

Many personifications are parodies of reality. An Ebola x Black_Death hybrid would be a serious asspull. I think it would be bad idea. Autistically bad idea. Seriously.

PENIS-KUN being a medicine personification would probably have sisters/brothers like HAART (against Eidzu and HIV, maybe even other viruses), Vaccine-chan (against stuff like Rabies-chan), etc.
But, yeah, the way they intend to play the Acts probably makes prior planning about the future antagonists non-important at this point. Maybe some non-Ebola disease tans that have an already functional vaccine, should have their antagonist introduced earlier… I dunno. Route-writers know best. If the antagonists cannot enter VIRUS world, then does the Act 3 take place in… Japan?

You will probably find yourself in much the same position if you want to come on board. We won't be scrapping existing writing at this point to accommodate a new entrant, because we are less than a week from our first deadline before we head into group-editing mode to assemble a coherent Act One.
You will have to hit the ground running, and be prepared to accept "no" for an answer if your ideas (however brilliant they may be) break what we already have.

My apologies for the delay in my response. This is not the Official Response as I have not yet consulted the studio to fact-check, but I will allow them to address this as they see fit. If they want to comment, they can. If they want me to correct it myself, I can.
Currently, the project is stalled out. While the studio has not officially disbanded, the project is currently drifting after the loss of its main programmer and writer. We have a programmer who stepped up, who wishes to progress at least to the end of what we explicitly laid out, but news is rare and conversation on the channel even rarer. On the whole, most of the crew is presumed to be working on other things, or facing their own life struggles.
As I explained to them a few weeks back, although I had rescinded and never got around to re-establishing this status, I simply don't have the time to direct or contribute anymore. Too many things (including a job) pulling at my attention.
At some distant point, at the very least, I would like to go back and recompile everything I remember from the conversations and the documents into a comprehensive spoiler-document, outlining and laying out much of the direction Mal-2 proposed (as I adored his vision of the project and the world of VIRUS, and would like it preserved), along with a few proposed edits by me and/or the remaining crew (which would be denoted as such). If we cannot achieve the game (or anything of substance), at least we can leave the project intact for someone else to pick it up. After all, She seems to be making her return, and I anticipate a second (third?) wave of hype and worshipers upon another outbreak.

It has stalled out, but some people on the team (don't remember who exactly, but it includes me and at least one other person) are in this for the long run. That is to say, no matter how slow progress gets, I don't really see myself quitting this project. Of course, that being said, I can't pick up the slack. I am a poor writer and not at all a programmer. But when we do get people, or as progress crawls along slowly with what we have, I'll contribute when I'm needed.
