I've been fooling around with PimpMyGun and made these. The first is a Glock Infinity, a Machine Pistol designed for use by individuals with cybernetic arms or powered armor. The second is a HK P5000 Negotiator, a 9mm CC pistol made almost exclusively out of synthetic plastics that make it undetectable to metal detectors. It also has a built-in stungun, making it popular with police officers. The third is a caseless rifle, with a unique loading mechanism: the handguard swings out and the magazine slides out, allowing a new one to be inserted. PimpMyGun is a really cool tool, you guys should give it a look.

>>11251When I was a kid who was into worldbuilding, I came up with this theory that the Strogg was actually the end result of radical transhumanism turning mankind into a race of bloodthirsty conquerors. Unfortunately, their constantly evolving bloodlust lead to them eventually destroying the universe, with a small splinter group escaping back in time in order to survive. Of course, this group becomes the Strogg we know from Quake II and IV, and after IV mankind begins pursuing transhuman augmentation to fight the strogg, creating an endless loop that mankind will be trapped in, bringing Quake back to its roots in cosmic horror.

I can't believe none of you have posted this yet. It's a Chiappa Rhino .357 revolver. The barrel is aligned with the lowest chamber so that the recoil is directed into the gun's center of mass, rather than over it. This greatly reduces muzzle rise and increases accuracy, all while making the gun look sexy as fuck.

>>13490Actually shazbot the flamberge was an extremely popular type of two-handed sword back in Ye Olden Dayes because wounds from it healed extremely poorly due to the wave pattern producing extremely strange cuts. However they cost an arm, a leg, and your castle besides because they required an insane amount of dedication to make when that time could be better spent on mass-producing broadswords- false flamberges made from normal greatswords became popular as a less effective but much cheaper and faster alternative.
The buster sword-sized greatsword however I will give you and I mostly just enjoy the entire concept because "god damn he must be stronk to be able to pick that up, let alone USE it". Cloud is a pansy shazbot with spaghetti noodle arms and ergo he is not enough of a beeflord to wield a greatsword like a MAN.

In fact it's probably even more, considering those projectiles look to be about the size of .50 BMG. I guess it could still work if you lowered the muzzle velocity a fuckload, but then it won't kill anything with body armor, and it'd still be loud a shit so what'd be the point

>>13667It's less that it's based on it and more that it's named in honor of it. The original is a better gun in many ways. More durable, it can carry more ammo (though it's a pain to get it out of the storage space in the grip.) And it can be shot more times before you start to worry about the barrel's structural integrity. Granted, if you NEED to shoot either of them more than once then you're doing it wrong.

No.13688
>>13679Because it can only fire ONCE, and it's a breach loader that you have to remove the barrel entirely to actually reload (it just slides upward) which, should you get into a dangerous situation like having your first shot miss, could be disastrous. To reload you'd have to manage, the gun, the barrel, the spent brass (which is hot and doesn't have an ejection mechanism) and a new bullet all at once.
tl;dr if you miss, you're completely fucked.
It's only real saving grace is that it's better than not having a gun at all. Which is the point of the original Liberator too. It's for ambushing someone who has a better gun that you can take after you've shot them in the head.

Second pic is an AR-57, a conversion for an M-16 to fire P90 magazines.
Third pic is a FAD (Fusil Automático Doble) which is a Peruvian bullpup assault rifle with built in 40mm grenade launcher.
Last pic is a Juggernaut Rogue M39 EMR. Which is a bullpup conversion kit for the M14. Aside from just being bull pup it can also accept drum magazines and like other modern variants of the M14 it can accept a suppressor.

>>13692First pic is a Kel Tec RFB. A nice little semi-auto rifle that comes in a variety of full size cartridges and barrel lengths. It's unique in that the spent casings eject forward from directly under the barrel.
Second pic is an F2000 without the bulky scope shroud on it. Looks much nicer in my opinion.
Third pic is the TP-82, it's an actual space gun. Seriously, the Russians bring it with them whenever they go to space. It's a pistol style double barrel shotgun with an under slung rifle. It comes with a stock that stores a modest amount of ammo and survival equipment.
Last pic is a Pribor 3B it's a three barrel assault rifle like out of Duke Nukem 3D.

>>13697First pic here is a Neal SMG. It's a postol calibre minigun that straps to your arm and is fed by a helical magazine. Really cool stuff.
Second pic is of a Scramjet bullet. The idea behind it is that it accelerates after you shoot it allowing it to hit much harder than another bullet of the same size/weight. The bullet is fired from a gas gun and speeds up to Mach 7.1. It's pretty big though, about 4 inches in diameter, but I'm sure it can be miniaturized.
Third pic is a Lacroix Samouraï Urban Warfare (SUW) “High Impulse Weapon System”. A combat cyborg killer if I ever saw one. It's essentially a shoulder mounted 76mm mortar with very little recoil (still enough to knock you on your ass if you don't put 80% of your weight on your leading foot.) and makes a very satisfying CLANG when you shoot it.
Last pic is nothing fancy. Just a neat looking pistol.

Third pic is a guided bullet that's in development.

Anyway I went back and did some touching up on the glock infinity. I also tried to recreate the handgun from Marathon, to little success. I also came up with a sub-sonic version of the p90 (yes it's based on Jan Valentine's gun from Hellsing), a gas-powered speargun, and a railgun. Some of these I'm more proud of than others.

My German's incredibly rusty, but I led him out of the basement and with the help of google translate he gave me this:
Joe Peters built 1993 PSDR 3 Bushmaster for the German SEK, a Smith and Wesson 625 45 caliber. Loading the gun through the fluegelartig (winged?) folding drum chamber, the entire frame of the revolver restricts the shot to the handle and tap. On the 3.4 kg gun sitting on the (Pistolen-ZF???) above a low-power laser as a target sight. Shot damping goes from 136 to 90 decibels, about as loud as an air pistol.
I'm very sorry for my terrible German, it's been a long time since I spoke it in any meaningful way.

"The full extent of US co-operation with Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in assisting the rebel opposition in Syria has yet to come to light. The Obama administration has never publicly admitted to its role in creating what the CIA calls a ‘rat line’, a back channel highway into Syria. The rat line, authorised in early 2012, was used to funnel weapons and ammunition from Libya via southern Turkey and across the Syrian border to the opposition"
"By the terms of the agreement, funding came from Turkey, as well as Saudi Arabia and Qatar; the CIA, with the support of MI6, was responsible for getting arms from Gaddafi’s arsenals into Syria"
>US intelligence agencies armed and supported Libya's jihadist rebels in the toppling of Gaddafi, and then helped moved Gaddafis stockpiles to the same rebel groups, now operating in Syria

"The Iraqi forces said they have retrieved four foreign passports, including those that belonged to American and Israeli nationals"
It's no secret that the jihadists raising hell in the Baath'ist states are state-sponsored by NATO members, the FN F2000s have been a Saudi contribution to the toppling of Gaddafi and Assad, and that's just the tip of the iceberg

each bullet was its own ruby laser iirc, with the synthetic ruby being burnt out after firing, and is manually ejected afterwards (WU. Silent pistol-style).
Ruby lasers are weak and simple. Imagine what a back-mounted COIL with an under-arm tube filled with the necessary optics could do to a spacecraft when fired in a vacuum.

It's so eerie to see that the world is slowly becoming more cyberpunk as the low life, degenerate masses inherit the technology of the old and wise, twisting it for their own purposes, almost like a fallen Roman empire. Barbarians living under a derelict aqueduct in huts and yurts. I just wanted to add a picture of my personal primary, which I've obtained after a year of being a wage slave. Let us all prepare for the future. I'll see you all in the streets, and in Virtual City Alpha.

Gyrojet
>Rocket gun
>Fires a .50-caliber bullet with the recoil of a .22
>Quieter than a suppressed pistol, doesn't sound like a gunshot, more like a can of soda being opened
>Pistol is inherently reliable because it has only three moving parts, and caseless ammo means no dirt getting inside an ejection port as it cycles
>Because gun doesn't have to withstand pressure or recoil like a conventional firearm, can be made of lightweight, inexpensive materials; originals were made of zinc, with the intent of later upgrading to aluminum
>Pistols inexpensive to produce due to cheap materials, no need for rifling, few moving parts, etc.
>Politicians got nervous about .50-cal rocket pistols that were super quiet and did everything they could to kill them
>ATF goes after gyrojets for being .51-caliber (biggest legal limit is .50"); company stops production and retools from 13mm to 12mm, then resumes production
>ATF goes after them again for not rifling barrels, saying it makes the gyrojet an illegal sawed-off shotgun
>Company stops production again, spends brouzouf on rifling barrels that don't need rifling because the rocket bullets use exhaust to spin-stabilize themselves
>Meanwhile, sales have been poor because people don't trust guns made of zinc and the ammo costs more than the gun does
>Company goes bankrupt, makes one last, massive batch of ammo for their guns before closing their doors forever
>Idea is to get as much ammo produced as possible for the guns on the market can be fired for as long as possible; quality control is ignored in favor of producing as much as possible as fast as possible
>This last batch of ammo has numerous defects, such as misshapen exhaust ports, exposed propellant, etc. that causes ammo from this batch to be inaccurate and unreliable
>50 years later, ammo from this batch is the most commonly available ammo, leading to people wrongly assuming the gyrojet itself is inherently inaccurate and unreliable
>People who have never seen one in person, much less shot one, misinterpret the fact that the bullet is still accelerating 30 feet after it leaves the gun to mean that you can catch it with your bare hand by putting your hand over the muzzle
>In reality, it has the same energy at the muzzle as a .45 and is still accelerating
>Obstructive government killed the gyrojet in the 60's, and idiots who believe Mattel made M16's are killing it in the modern era
>You will never own a futuristic Desert Eagle that fires nearly-silent rocket bullets

VAG-73
>Inspired by American gyrojet
>Caseless ammunition; propellant inside projectile, just like the gyrojet
>Unlike the gyrojet, the propellant is regular gunpowder and it detonates all at once instead of burning like a rocket; the firing pin hits the primer, which vaporizes when the propellant ignites and the expanding gases push out of the primer pocket and propel the bullet
>7.62mm, steel bullet with a copper base to engage rifling; firepower equivalent to an AP round in 7.62x25mm Tokarev, capable of penetrating soft body armor or a steel helmet
>Ammo capacity of 42 rounds
>Magazine is two 21-round mags, one in front of the other
>Slide cycles, pushing top round in rear magazine into front magazine, which pushes the top round in the front magazine into the chamber; clever idea, actually
>Full-auto, one of the first PDW's invented
>Full-auto pistol firing high-velocity caseless ammunition with a 42-round capacity; amazing today, much less in the 70's
>Problems: since it didn't shoot rockets like the gyrojet, it had recoil like a normal gun and was hard to control in full-auto
>Firing pin often got damaged or too dirty to function because it was exposed to the primer and propellant detonating
>Steel projectiles wore out rifling quickly
>Soviets thought it was a really neat idea, but shelved it in order to fund their new AK-74 rifles and other projects

HK G11
>75-rnd capacity in prototypes, 45-rnd capacity in production model
>4.73mm armor-piercing projectile
>Caseless ammo ensured supreme reliability since the only part of the gun open to dirt and debris was the muzzle
>Carried two spare magazines on the rifle itself, for a total of 135 rounds of ammo without grabbing any spare magazine pouches
>Full-auto fired 450 rounds per minute, more controllable than M16 at 600 rounds per minute
>Salvo burst fired 3 rounds at 2,000 rounds per minute; between high rate of fire and recoil reduction system built into rifle, user didn't feel the recoil of the first round until after the third round had left the barrel
>Salvo burst put all three bullets in an area the size of a quarter, ensuring higher probability of penetrating body armor, even plates intended to stop AP rifle rounds
>The gun of the future
>West Germany officially adopts the G11K2 as their official rifle
>NATO bitches them out for adopting a non-standard weapon and caliber; only other NATO member financially capable of adopting the G11 and 4.6mm caliber is the US, everyone else is too poor from adopting 5.56mm weapons
>Soviet Union collapses, eliminating imminent threat of godless commie invasion/WW3 and making the adoption of a new rifle less of a concern
>Germany reunites; West Germany nearly bankrupted trying to turn East Germany into a first-world nation; no brouzouf in the budget for an expensive new rifle
>German army returns the 1,000 G11 rifles it had already received to HK, nobody ever does anything with a futuristic space marine rifle that was about to enter mass production ever again

>10mm: fires a .40-caliber bullet with the power of a .357 Magnum
>FBI adopts 10mm because 9mm failed to fuck up some bad guys in Florida
>MP5/10 is all kinds of awesome and badass
>FBI has too many female agents and men with tiny hands to handle 10mm's recoil, begins reducing the power of ammo to compensate
>New, weaker ammo doesn't cycle the MP5/10 reliably
>HK makes two different locking pieces for the bolt, one for use with high-power ammo the gun was originally designed for, and one for weak ammo the FBI adopted later
>FBI gets annoyed with having to change parts on their guns when switching from target ammo to full-power ammo
>Smith and Wesson begins offering their new .40 S&W caliber, which fires the same bullet with the same power as the weak 10mm load, but in a smaller package so women can hold the pistol more easily

Yep, old, shitty, rusty, nasty
looking guns, sold by a dealer wearing them under his trenchcoat, in a dark and filthy alley, battered, but cheap. That's the spirit, tacticool guns looks cool, but good luck being able to afford that stuff.

I actually wanted to do that, so here it goes.
I'll use borderlands weapon manufacturers for examples as they represent almost all styles of guns, adn call these styles by the name of these brands, in honor of the badass game, at least.
The most suitable for cyberpunk setting are weapons similar to the modern weapons of today, which means lots of polymers, complex shapes, mounting rails, no wood, maybe sharp or perfectly round edges and corners. In borderlands the DAHL represents this style. This also seems like the way the conventional firearms will go.
Hyperion guns, as well as Tediore are kinda the same, except Hyperion has more hanging out parts, with more empathis on hexagonal/triangle shapes, which may represent that guns of that style are either more specialized, or more high-tech "energy" weapons, while the Tediore is more of a simplified and boxed DAHL, without options for accessories, mounts and that kind of stuff, with texture of carbon fiber and whatnot. The latter actually seem pretty possible as cheap consumer weapons as presented in universe, though DAHL is still more likely, as lost functionality would still count. Also, 3d printed guns are really close to Tediore, unless they are the AR receiver.
Jacobs. Ow, that schway classy look of a SBS double barrel shotgun, or a bit worn revolver, or hunting rifle. Wood, and plenty. Simple mechanics and action, straightforward but very reliable. Maybe not as effective as more modern stuff, but still gets the job done. Mostly pre-automatic era weapons right after muzzle loaders fall in here. Engraving for the looks also fits nicely. Classy, which is why diy guns do not really fit in this category.
Vladof. This is the style of the previous century weapons, with AK maybe the most notable one. It is more of a transition between Jacobs and DAHL, but in a weird way. It is Jacobs that gained automatic fire, and went through mass production, but in the time when leather bag sling is the default option, not luxury. So the design follows: where DAHL has these weird and complex shaped and detail Vladof has stamped parts, wood replaces the polymers, accessories are less universal, instead of rails there are things like side scope and built in bayonet mounts. Overall, where DAHL has zero play and perfectly fitted parts as the result of complex machinery, the Vladof gun is likely to fall apart or bend rather then explode or crack. The in-game design has more in it, but i tried to capture the general design and style.
Torgue and Bandit. This is the hardest to me. While the first one is a lot more cooler, there is a lot more of the latter irl, as it represents diy guns, and Torgue takes this a bit further without changing aesthetic. Tied, glued parts, trash, other common materials mixed together in a weird way that somehow should resemble a gun. They can really differ from each other as much as previously described styles do, so i do not really have much to add, if you can, you're welcome.

Part two.Pics thread related.
Maliwan. This is as close as you can get to retro futurism(think of Fallout space guns) in borderlands. Looks really similar in style to Apple products. Sleek case, no corners, bright and contrast colors, tron lines here and there, it reminds me of the "space opera weapons" style, but more sleek and compact. Atlas is kinda similar, but with some of DAHL shapes and silver colors.
Overall these all can be organized into more general styles: Jacobs(Classy), Vladof(Cold war, DAHL((Modern/nano/microfiber/polymer)it also includes tediore and hyperion, to some extent), Maliwan((energy/soft sci-fi)including Atlas and partially Hyperion) and Bandit(diy).
For the cyberpunk setting the most fitted styles are DAHL, as corps and their private forces, the future is not high tech and idealistic enough for fantasy-tier space guns. Vladof is only for some bunkers and remainings of the national military objects, reminding of their former power. Jacobs is either the relics level or museum or personal collection items, and generally no-no. Presence of Maliwan depends on the setting, but genearally energy weapons are too humane/undeveloped/other reason for cyberpunk(i'm not talking about sonic weapons, or stun guns, but the deadly stuff, which is mostly held by kinetic weapons). Bandit weaponry is the field of the outlaws/raiders/street rabble and is generally swapped for something more functional if it can be afforded, but is surely present and actively used, with conflicts reinforced by tightly packed different jurisdictions and lack of invasive and all-caring universal government, just do not add wood.
Also, the most cyber weapon type is probably SMG or SBR, with handguns being sidearms, rifles and carbines being the main arms of the military and police, shotguns seem either diy or nonexistent due to body armor and steel dors and sharpshooting and shit, rifles being hitman/bodygard weapons and short autos are the type that gives you advantage over handguns while being compact, lightweight and at least partially capable of being on par with rifles of the regular forces.
Did i miss something?

And apart from the aesthetics, Kalashnikov rifles and their clones are some of the most cyberpunk weapons. Not only can they be found for dirt cheap in any country in the world with plenty of ammo, they're also used by insurgencies in deserts and jungles who literally never clean them. You can practically jam them full of mud and gravel or soak them in water and they'll still fire. An AK-47 is probably the most rugged, accessible, and "just works" firearm on the planet at this point.

Other than a few things like the handgrip/stock and the position of the magazine- it's practically identical, just with a different scope attached. It even sounds similar at least counting the Halo: Combat Evolved anniversary sound effects.
Another thing to add, the UNSC itself is actually pretty cyberpunk from what little info has been given about civilian life in the franchise. Not only is there the obvious stuff like the large interstellar corporations in human territory, space CIA/Illuminati, and neural implants- there's apparently also a secret organization of Artificial Intelligences secretly overseeing human affairsthough lore info on it is pretty scarce.
