What are some /cyber/ cities? I am going to be graduating university in a few months and then moving somewhere shortly thereafter. Ideally it will be a city with technology jobs, but your suggestions don't necessarily have to have that quality.
Current prospects:
Austin, TX
Seattle, WA

Live in Seattle, we got a big tech industry, but really, it could be replaced with any other white-collar industry and the city would look the same.
Lot of Asians I suppose and a lot of rain but, eh.
You'd probably have to look to Asia for your more cyberpunk-cities, China, Japan, Singapore, otherwise you're just LARPing in Seattle, honestly.

Isn't that a picture of a monument in Lithuania?
I mean, the baltics as a whole definitely have a pretty good potential for a cyberpunk feel;
Tzarist+Soviet+Nazi+Soviet occupation followed by a tech boom
I thought I heard that Latvia still has more Russian influence though, so that might give it more a seedy underbelly than the others.

>Tzarist+Soviet+Nazi+Soviet occupation followed by a tech boom
As someone who lived in that part of the world for some time, I can tell you I felt the opposite of /cyber/. They're typical boring post-soviet poor-ish cities. Nice natural areas though.
>>53210
Estonia is slightly different in that they have invested a lot of brouzouf in technology and as a result they're not as poor as Latvia or Lithuania but the feel of actually living in Estonia is still basically the same.

Why the fuck would I want to go to any of those hell holes. Shit I’ve been to Austin a lot and I have and always will hate the people that live there. They’re like Folk from Dallas in that they’re pseudo yankees( read total fucking assholes). Down here in the south it’s both expected and welcomed that you act with hospitality towards others, unless your a nigger and even then they act nice at first more thank north nigs. The Folks in Austin and dallas are a bunch of stuck up assholes who deserve to burn in a fucking pit like the shit-stains they are.

Navies often go there for various Reasons, and I've heard from everyone who has been there via navy shit has said that there's lots of indians and fillipinos who are essentially slaves. they self-segregate very hard and the different ethnic groups dislike eachother strongly, but don't really mind tourists slumming it with them. they just hate other workers. they're generally literate in whatever their home country speaks, but rarely speak good english or arabic

Any city that's given up the pretense of being high class and accepted that it's a shithole, really. **There are cities in the midwest/south that are a bit /cyber/, since large companies do have headquarters in them. Though for the most part they're in the realm of "will become truly /cyber/ in the next 5 to 50 years."

Why must they be shitholes too?
Cyberpunk had all classes, the upper ones living the great life in extravagant places.
Think Villa Straylight. Or as in Star Wars: KOTOR, with the different levels of the city on Taris.

The Legco vandalism was remarkable. Good stuff.
These are young people growing up in a country which is sovereign in theory and, with wholly unique system designed to expire within a lifetime - facing a totalitarian, technocratic regime complete with a great firewall and facial recognition policing. If you want cyberpunk, look no further
I wish I could have been there to witness this expression of hopelessness for their future and liberties.

To make things even more interesting, most if not all of these student actions are planned and carried out via Telegram and other secure, encrypted communications channels to mitigate the risk of prosecution by authorities.
