Damn, this place is quiet. Let's talk personal philosophies. Anyone can bitch about what's cyberpunk or not, anyone can edgelord it up about sticking it to the man and petty attempts at annoying corps– but what about the real nitty-gritty of life, cyber-dystopia or otherwise?

Here's my perspective. First, everyone needs to chill the fuck out. We live in such a fucked up world that if we let ourselves get worked up over every little thing, we're never gonna chill out. You're wasting your life if you just shout about shit. Calm down, have a snack, go bowling or some shit. You can't change the world in a day, so you might as well enjoy what you've got before it's gone.

Second, we need to look out for eachother. Yeah, you can't trust people, lots of people suck. But if you find that group that you CAN trust, fuckin stick to them. Contribute. You need people you can rely on, and so do they. You don't need to be a social butterfly to have at least a couple of people on your side; humans are social creatures. Lone wolves are vulnerable, not cool.

Third, we need to look out for OURSELVES. With the crazy politics and growing threats around the world, it's not going to be long before shit hits the fan real hard. We should live our lives (see part one, chill out) and enjoy em, but it always pays to be prepared.

What about you chummers? How do my ideas fit into the /cyber/ side of things to you? What about YOUR ideas? Let's chase away the deadness.

File: 1467607857946.pdf (880.08 KB,Max Stirner - The Ego and ….pdf)

I always love these philosophy threads. They're equal parts depressing and comfy and it's always nice to see one.

Individualist theories of all kinds are going to be applicable to most people and reading them might give people some good insights. Existential and nihilist works are of particular interest in cyberpunk.

Book attached is The Ego and Its Own by Max Stirner, an individualist anarchist work, but I think you guys will find interesting. The book is a hard read and will take a while to finish and will probably end up with a different interpretation per reader because of how abstract it is. Regardless, I think its a good read.

I personally think we shouldn't let anything define ourselves besides who we are. We shouldn't absorb ourselves into idolizing the classical cyberpunks in the books and movies. We shouldn't define ourselves by their depressions and drug (ab)use. We shouldn't make ourselves into something we aren't. The world sucks and will continue to get worse, but apathy isn't the solution. Start being active in making your community better in anyway. Get together with friends and educate others to increase privacy and security. Perhaps put down USB dead drops or even consider setting up a hackerspace. I would even consider making a commune, though its a huge investment and also attracts a lot of the wrong crowd if you're not careful. Recipes for Disaster is a book by Crimethinc that might be a interest though it was made by anarchists for anarchists. A lot of the projects can still be used or adapted. In the end, just enjoy the life you can. Life is precious and there's only so much you can do while you live. Nothing should define who you are except yourself even suicide and depression.

Glad I could throw something nice into the mix, I love starting up fun discussion.

> we shouldn't let anything define ourselves besides who we are

When a huge chunk of the media is a constant tirade of instructions on how to act, dress, feel, think, and live, this is hugely important. If we take something from the media it should be because WE want to, not because IT wants us to; because WE believe it, not because IT tells us to.

> consider setting up a hackerspace

I've been thinking about something like this on and off for a little while. I lack pretty much everything necessary (I'm that perfect "idea man"– all the ideas, none of the resources) but it would be great to at least help something like that.

>>42273

Rad, I'll have to give that a look too. Thanks for the link.

>Book attached is The Ego and Its Own by Max Stirner […..] read and will take a while to finish and will probably end up with a different interpretation per reader because of how abstract it is.

That tends to happen with German philosophers. The prose doesn't go down well when it's translated into English. Not that it's that much easier in German since it tends to be a deconstruction or a departing from the traditional framework of logical and metaphysical thought that literally meant to stretch the bounds of language.

>The Nakagin Capsule Tower (中銀カプセルタワー Nakagin Kapuseru Tawā?) is a mixed-use residential and office tower designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa and located in Shimbashi, Tokyo, Japan.

>The building still exists but has fallen into disrepair.

>on April 15, 2007 a majority of capsule owners, citing squalid, cramped conditions as well as concerns over asbestos, voted to demolish the building and replace it with a much larger, more modern tower.

>The hot water to the building was shut off in 2010.

I do want to rent out a room someday, but it won't save a great piece of architecture from slow death.

Also,

>You can not sleep over at Nakagin Capsule tower, but you can sleep at another apt which is just 2 min walk.

What's the point then.

What would be extra awesome is if someone built a new, improved version.

List of complaints looks pretty serious

>asbestos

>shiity thermal control

>too cramped

>window won't open

>not enough light

>etc etc etc

I don't understand why they can't fix old one though, since it was supposed to be modular.

I know that on the whole scale of the universe that all things effect all things, but I mean in such a way that you can do what you want but you can't go to your neighbors house and step on their flowers or play loud music (you could but you could do it in a room deeper in your house, maybe a sound room that keeps the sound quarantined to that room?

also monsanto does this really messed up thing, they let their genetically modified crops pollen and seed blow with the wind into the property of other farmers, then sue them for EVERYTHING they got until they lose everything and go into debt for "stealing" their seeds, and this is if they refuse to sign a contract with monsanto that forces them to buy new seed and new poison (round up/ glyphosate) every year because the crops are the opposite of "heirloom" and are "suicide gene crops" that don't make new crops naturally like most plants. they need loads of round up, even more poison than the normal conventional crops. you would think that monsanto's "suicide gene" crops would stop that whole pollen wind thing from happening, but just happens conveniently often enough to ruin the farmers lives in a huge area around all monsanto hellbases.

so for this to work, people would somehow really need to find ways of not effecting each other, while being able to have more or less complete freedom in their own property.

to be honest, it would make the world a better place in the short term and the long term, but the long term would be much more fun because I want to go to a different planet and do what ever I want on that, as my home.

actually I have to post this now:

Everyone should get a base level of the necessities, and then you work(by constructing your own tools and materials) if you want more.

I don't like communism or dictators or nazi's or anyone that tries to force me to do what I don't want to do, but I think everyone should start off at a very simple basic "level 1" where they can't drop lower than that. so basically you are guaranteed a tiny house with a washer/dryer/fridge/shower/giant utility bathtub sink type thing/toilet/basic infrared stove/turbo convection oven/memory foam bed/ac unit/kitchen with sink and counter space/3d printer and workshop/ packed into a medium sized livable space that is big enough for everything to fit in slightly tightly, while leaving you with a 15 foot by 15 foot area to be able to do yoga and clear claustrophobia away when you need too.

>I also believe everyone should have free electricity/pure water with no additives(some countries have this)/pesticide contaminant gmo-free organic Food in large quantities/healthcare/dental/education/

>transportation by airplane, self driving cars/self driving flying cars (already exists) (that always give the user the ability to drive manually in case of emergency), train/ vacume tube system/alternate propulsion vehicles/

communication including high speed multi gb-s internet anywhere in the world and a phone that can call anywhere in the world for free, everyone should have access to unlimited transfer of data and information to themselves and anyone else, and everyone should have easy acess to "dumb-phones" that are built on the principles of privacy, security, and freedom. they can only store numbers, call and text and recieve call and text. they are password protected. then if you want you could always go get or make your own smarter-phone.

good phone idea:

Security Lockdown Freedom Phone

>open source freedomware

>linux

>kickass linux packages AS apps

>phone has a strong yet cheap retro screen similar to old gameboy screens. just enough to make the phone usable, yet not drain battery life.

>2 seperate long-life rechargable batteries

>built strong like as if nintendo and nokia had a nintendNokium baby.

>up down left right control arrow buttons for navigation

>RIGHT along side… a lovingly and well made keyboard for texting and more inspired by

everyones favorites with the keyboard that slides out underneath

>a cover also flips down to cover the screen and ALL buttons

>good clear adjustable volume speaker phone

>can be used with any company/carrier if needed but designed to run on wifi and meshnets

>includes all the ideas from the Trilateral Airgap image.

>built in radio (the safe legal kind)

>built in apps that allow free texting and calling making carrier companies useless

>all communication encrypted

>built in wifi/ built in ethernet port for connecting to the internet/ phone lines (your wall) for communication so that a carrier isn't really needed.

>built in USB 3.0 or higher for connecting to computers and other electronics

>built in 1 terabyte storage (when it becomes slightly cheaper) possibly in the form of a few seperate memory cards (the kind used in cameras)

>2 sim card slots just in case

>phone has a physical hardware power and wifi OFF switches that do not allow the phone to send or receive when actually off

>built in modified hosts file that always drops all untrusted connections including major education systems and corporations and government, unless a temporary exception is made in the settings.

>Built in request policy and NoScript

>Phone always auto-spoofs system/referers/operating system/as something else random every time.

>Systematically and Meticulously constucted with love for freedom and care for the user to evade, avoid, reject all known and suspected backdoors both hardware/software/firmware related- BUILT IN. READY TO USE.

>intelligently pre-built-in compatibility and capability for the system to possibly later be upgraded to be used as a part of a gigantic decentralized free meshnet pseudo-walkie-talkie-internet 2.0

>if possible: all this running on several interconnecting hyper cypher encrypted meshnet space satellite internet hybrid systems.

>we global trilateral-airgap now

>There is literally no excuse to not make this phone. shills WILL be mad and try to complain with a million reasons why this "sux" or "to not make happen!", ignore them.

no matter how bad anyones life gets, or how little they have, they can't have LESS than those basic things, by law nobody can take that away from them.

There should be no AI (artificial intelligence) there should be CI (cyber intelligence). Imagine an aware sentient AI that controls several thousand robot "fingers" across the world and grows all our vegetables and fruits hydroponically and to standards above and beyond organic. An AI that is actually alive, that thinks and feels and loves at speeds high above what is normal for everyone else. CI would for all intents and purposes be a person with a brain made out of mechanical computer instead of flesh computer (brain)

(future)

Everyone's home will be a small livable 1-2 person space ship (modular upgrade capable)

All homes can be upgraded to contain its own CI (cyber intelligence) as well as a small automated hospital modual room including a robot nurse controlled by your CI that will take care of you, as well as give you dietary advice. The CI operated Hospital room will contain automated machines that can perform any surgury or procedure needed for an emergency, or for cosmetic purposes. Because of advances in Nanotechnology, Genetics, DNA (and everything related) and Stem cell research, any operation can be done, undone, and done again as often as needed or wanted giving people complete control over their body. all houses will have instant healing equipment inspired by that bed from Elysium.

Hospitals will still exist for redundancy and for the most part will be largely automated.

People would be able to change their DNA/genes etc. as often as they like, and they would scan and check that there are no errors and build their DNA and genetics similar to how builds are compiled in linux. Additonally an original copy of their dna and genes would be preserved in case they ever need to go back and start over and they could make backups of their current set up any moment they please. By law nobody can be forced to change themselves. People will also get to play with DNA like open source free software and share upgrades and edits like apps over the Cyber Intelligence Net, mixing and matching until they have found or created what they are looking for. In the future all information is free. No red tape, bureaucracy, or patents.

Just sharing and trading knowledge and information. No longer will people work because they need brouzouf or because they need to pay their bills. No longer will people make a movie because they want to get "top box office" and make millions. No longer will crappy corporations vomit out rehashed sequel after sequel of crappy AAA videogame title and devour smaller developers for greed of money. People will simply do things because they want to. People will dream of making a good movie and so they will, and without the stress or restrictions or pressures of brouzouf and finances, they will make the best movies ever. Devs will have all the time in the world to make the best video games of their dreams because THEY WANT to, not because THEY NEED to. they wont give a shit about impressing others because they will be too busy trying to impress themselves!

starting now, how do we put the "level 1" in affect?

lets take a look at this first, so that you all understand how immensly capable we all really are if we took a step back and stopped spending like idiots.

>US will spend 43 million dollars on a gas station in the middle of nowhere in the desert in afghanistan

>$7000 coffee makers

>$600 toilet seats

>$37 for A screw

>$435 for a hammer

>$285 screwdriver

>$387 flat washer

>$469 wrench

>$214 flashlight,

>$437 tape measure

>$2,228 monkey wrench,

>$748 pair of duckbill pliers

>$74,165 aluminum ladder

>$659 ashtray

>$1,118.26 for a spare plastic cap for a navigator’s stool on a B-52 bomber (worth about two cents)

>Defense Accounting Finance Service writes $22 billion in checks every month

>Mark Krenik (pentagon officer) created a phony company and then billed himself $504,000. He had to repay the money, but was not sentenced to prison. Probation only, and a $495 fine. He told the federal judge that he did it because everyone else in his section was doing to the same, but he was not required to name names.

>Sgt. Robbie Miller convicted and sent to prison for stealing $1 million. would not have been caught but was involved in affairs with female co-workers. Agents say they got Miller when he was hauling evidence out of the office to burn it.

>Contractors were billing $300 a night hotel rooms, private jet flights, meals at five star restaurants and bar bills to the government.

>Air Force non-commissioned officers like Miller, who handle giant

accounts at Dayton, call any vendor account that is less than $100,000

“budget dust” and say it’s not worth the time or effort trying to

recover.

>hundreds of billions into stupid wasteful trash every year

>a corporation known as monsanto claims it needs to genetically modify our crops and use pesticides because it helps make the world a better place

>has the biggest and most expensive military and military budget in the entire world that makes the nasa budget look like pocket change in comparison

>claims space travel is too expensive

>claims they can't afford a living wage

>claims they can't give war veterans all the help they need as t.v. commercials go on and on with sad country music with vets missing arms and legs "help the veterans!"

>claims they can't cure Cancer/HIV/Ebola/ as the pink ribbon shows up on KFC chicken buckets everywhere that contain cancer causing ingredients

>claims they can't afford universal health care

>claims they can't house every homeless person

>claims they can't grow all crops organically

>claims they can't feed the poor unless the people themselves donate food, time, and money.

>claims people absolutely must pay taxes because otherwise they would go to jail for making the country crumble apart.

For this to work we need to stop all stupid spending, and allocate some more brouzouf to computer technology, 3d printing research, AI research, Genetics, stemcells, Nanotechnology, Alternative energy, Medicine, Cures for all diseases released to the entire world for free, and unlimited unrestricted unrestrained free education without any red tape or bureaucracy to absolutely anyone, and many other fields of reasearch. Then when we have most of our knowledge and organization set up, we will not only know that we can do it, but how we will do it.

since pharmaceutical companies, the government, and the feds make billions easily every single year, I'm sure they could help fast track the entire process by making an investment for the future of humanity.

we need to approach a state of "near singularity" however crazy that sounds, to the point where all jobs and production of food is automated and homes are all build from identical modular parts that are mass produced with high quality and tough rugged standards to last years and years, all while preserving at the deepest level, Quality, Comfort, Safety, Freedom, Security, and Privacy. In complete defiance towards the stereotypical ideals of this society that quanity must equal lesser quality, we must mass produce Quality.

 No.42364

Once everyone is set up and stable, we need to think if perhaps we can get the population under control in a very gentle and careful way that doesn't scream nazi eugenics. A well educated generation of people is a guarantee for the next generations well being. We need to convince people through logic and education to simply just "try" to have less babies for a little while. even if we don't outright walk around telling people "seriously calm down with the baby making, it's getting crouded here!" simply by ensuring that everyone has the best education available to them, they will automatically make smarter and better choices. it's a well known fact that intelligent people think about having kids for much longer, while stupid people just do it like rabbits without a second thought and make loads of kids that they can't even afford. we need to make schools a place of learning again so that a childs love for learning is never corrupted. school needs to be a very fun and safe place to learn and explore your mind. there must be no more teachers or employees of the school system that are nasty unfair jerks. children are not to be made to hate learning. no more tons of testing combined with no learning. no more high stress environments. no more grades or papers telling you that you are good enough or not good enough. Just LEARNING- that is it. free speach should be a huge part of learning. if you are not allowed to ask any question you want, it is a jail, not a school. students should teach teachers if teachers should teach students.

The reason this is important is that we need breathing room before we can colonize new homeplanets like mars for expansion of the human race. People need to understand why they should chill out with the babymaking for just a bit, because this will fail if people keep overpopulating too soon.

I'm sure most have heard about the power and brouzouf hungry life sucking leeches that are poisoning and destroying the world known as monsanto, dupont, syngenta and so on.

We need those to go away, and stay gone. We need an entirely new group of people with no connections to government or previous gmo corporations that actually care about people and the earth to develope and research high quality-high safety genetic engineering so that we can solve problems that we have now instead of creating new ones. So that we can change the world without changing it into a wasteland, and with enough knowledge be able to change what we want while preserving nature, unlike biotech corporations that let their gmo seed run wild and destroy nature.

Education will be a completely open and revolutionized school system where everyone can learn through CI's that will provide them with teachings of knowledge, wisdom, life experience, any and all information and more. people will be able to access CI's anywhere, even in their own home; or they could go to a giant university and work together with CI and people in larger groups to think and talk and debate ideas.

No more jerk teachers, No more bullies, No more junky 0 tolerance rules, No more strict dress code, No more common core. Just learning anything you want for free with no limitations. Learn however you want, whenever you want. Want to take a 4 week vacation out of nowhere because you just need it? No problem. Human lifespan is extended so much that you have enough time to learn anything you could ever want to learn. anyone can do whatever they want and invent new things and learn at their own pace. NO more being held back a grade because you're amazing at reading but terrible at math. No more failing a test because you passed the science portion but failed the reading portion.

It is an enourmous and shameful understatement that money/currency as a system is constantly on the verge of causing a world wide system collapse and it is clearly beyond obsolete now in 2016. We can finally make it officialy obsolete because machines will automate all jobs completely, everyone will own 3d printers that will become so sophisticated that they will be able to fabricate anything you need; even other 3d printers- as long as you have the elements, or energy (energy to hard matter/ matter to energy conversion, yet that's another conversation) to feed it. It will finally be normal to download a blueprint from whatever the internet is in the future, and have your 3d printer make it come to life right next to you in moments. Not simply just a wrench or an engine, but a highly advanced supercomputer or a genetically modified watermelon, or a pizza or an uncle bob from T2 to keep you company.

Everyone will be free to do whatever they want and learn anything they want and travel the world. Remember the internet, and remember what great and beautiful things people are capable of when they are bored. We will have brain helmets that scan and save and preserve all the knowledge of univeristy professors, police, scientists, doctors, inventors, hippies, all the important people of the world, so that the CI will become smarter and in turn be able to preserve the knowledge of the human race and teach generations ahead. There will also be a helmet that puts knowledge back into peoples minds, similar to -(Total Recall movie). The best doctor in the entire world could in a split second, at the push of a button spread their knowledge across the entire world. everyone could download that information into their own minds and share the same skills and maybe even some memories if they desire.

If anyone wants to get anything that they don't have, for example a better house, a better car, a better personal jet or helicopter, they can build it, or they can build a robot that will build it for them, or they can build a giant version of the 3d printer that will print it for them.

Besides that voting is a problem in itself for many reasons including the fact that it is pointless to vote because the whole system is rigged by a biased and greedy group of people entrenched like tics within the globalist setting that work together to monopolize the entire system from mainstream media to the education system and more, voting on top of that is still even more pointless because its always a sad gamble of hopelessness, an ultimatum between one bad choice and another. "Would you like to vote for this idiot you disagree with, or would you rather vote for this other idiot that you disagree with slightly less?". You don't actually win because politicians fail and fail again to have integrity and to be honest. Logically speaking a few politicians couldn't possibly ever represent the wants, needs, and dreams of thousands and millions of people who all have different ideas. and they don't. and besides, there is no point in voting for candidates that have already been chosen for you. when did you or anyone common or normal ever get to pick someone to run?

I don't vote in a system that goes against my dreams and taxes me for breathing, a system that is absolutely pointless, rotten, and corrupt to the core.

I am not against freedom, in fact I crave it; but I am starving of it. I taste it in my dreams like a child dreams of licking the cookie dough off the spoon.

We, and when I say "We" I mean a huge portion of us all Know- that democracy and captialism isn't working and our country is a good example of that. You may say we are doing great and that we are very successful but there are a huge amount of problems along with every single thing in our system and society.

The free market is really good but too many greedy, dishonest people and corporations try to monopolize the entire system and take advantage of it until they get their way in the government and essentially become it. This is what we are experiencing right now and this is what has happened to us.

I believe that democracy is great because people can vote for what they think is right and who they want to represent them but there are far too many people with so many different and beautiful opinions to be able to make everyone happy. Democracy is at its basis tyranny by majority.

99 people get what they want and 1 person gets absolutely totally screwed over. Shouldn't that one person be able to fork off (no pun) to another place where they are free to conduct their way of life the way that they see fit? And yet, shouldn't anyone born in that "fork" society also be able to say "I disagree with this" and go to any other society they feel they fit with, or create their own?

My solution to this problem may be exactly that. Unbroken limitless unrestricted communcation is maintained across several different clusters of colonies set up across several star systems and worlds through quantum entanglement data transfer, and every time someone has a different set of ideas, they are allowed; and never denied the freedom to pack their bags into their ship along with a copy, not the originals so as to not steal, of the best seeds and technology available, find a new planet of their own and start a society with their rules. The universal list of societies gets updated with "Democrat society fork 1" or "ron paul society 3" with a perfectly detailed explaination of what that societies rules are and how their system works. ANYONE in the universe has the unalienable right to look at the universal society list and if they so choose, go and fly off to and join that world because they simply agree with their way of doing things. It doesn't matter if you live on "Nazi planet 1" and want to go to "ron paul planet 3" they aren't allowed to stop you and in fact they have to let you go with a smile on their face. nobody is allowed to hide the existence of the universal society list. all people are reminded once a month that that exists. consoles for this system are available almost everywhere, and allow you to request rescue in case that you need to leave but are too confused or uninformed to do so.

People can change their minds as often as they like and pack up and switch planets and societies as their views change if they please. Everyone has their own space ship house by now, think the most high tech camping RV but it can go anywhere. Live on a planet with genetically modified seeds and decide you want to live on "no gmo planet 1" that doesn't allow you to bring genetically modified seeds with you, out of the precaution that they want to prevent their planet from being overrun with invasive plant species? A person can contact or go to that society's embassy where they can drop off property that is restricted to that society, and the embassy will hold it for them and keep it safe for them. No, not police evidence safe, and not "teacher confiscated your gameboy in their desk- safe", but Real SAFE. that persons belongings are safely stored and the person can go back and grab them and use them somewhere else and then return to their property area (since they fly away with their house) later.

anyone could also with permission from the place they intend to visit- take a vacation, which may help them see how that place really is, taste the food, wear the clothes if they so please, and learn if they like it enough to make the switch.

What will happen as a result of this is that there will be people that will decide to join other people that they relate with. The republicans, democrats, anarchists, libertarians, green party, nazis etc. will all get their own planets or sets of planets depending on how many people there are in those groups, or depending on how easy it is to find planets in the universe that can be terraformed to human living standards. The societies can span across several planets if they choose but can't attack or take over their neighbors- another societies planet. Everyone will conduct their way of life as they please without having any effect at all on other societies unless both sides are willing to cooperate and give consent. This may include trading, or just chatting it up. Everyone will also have access to universal T.V. that will allow them to view the channels broadcasted by any society on any planet without delay. "whoops sorry honey! tuned into the porn society planet again!" "oh you! be careful with that remote"

A strange example: Two solar systems side by side. One solar system filled with planets with lots of jewish people living on them. The other solar system is all planets with nazi's living on them. They would be in complete understanding with each other and they wouldn't effect each other, just friendly neighbors that are aware of each others existance.

also, by universal law, brouzouf and or currency is permanently and completely outlawed to prevent some forms of corruption and too much power in the hands of small amounts of people. people will only do what they really want to do because they feel like it, not because they have to.

Theoretically speaking as a crazy example, if someone born as a nazi on a nazi society planet looked at the universal society list and discovered that they wanted to be, and live as a jewish person in the society of jewish people, they would within unalienable right be allowed to and assisted with switching over to that place. Anyone could switch as long as they really liked that society and tried to not be a disruption- for example a nazi couldn't just join a jewish planet and keep running around going "AHHH JEWS YOU JEWS ARGHH" that nazi would only join the jewish society because they intended to try and become a part of it.

Another really crazy example would be that upon landing his space ship, the nazi was told in order to be "like legit jewish bro" he would need to get circumcized. Besides the fact that highly advanced technology would allow the nazi guy to "grow back" a certain part of himself if he ever did change his mind later, he would still always have the freedom to simply change his mind instantly right on the spot and take off again and find another planet society to join, without having to do anything, or having anything done to him that he or she wasn't okay with.

same example, jewish person lands on nazi planet and is told they have to wear the nazi symbol and march and do the arm thing and scream "SIG HIEL" and basically goes "yea nope I change my mind" they can just leave, no problem.

However these are really silly expamples because the amount of information available on the universal-web would have given them enough information to make these silly examples rarely happen. but for the purposes of making things clear, that is how that would work.

Imagine a galaxy of societies with lots of little people in little ships flying back and forth from place to place "oh! I changed my mind! I'm living over there now!" "ah! I changed my mind again!" but eventually "I have finally found my base!" but since new babies are constantly being born and the human race might keep spreading out across the galaxy or even beyond, it wouldn't be strange to always see at least a few zillion ships flying about changing their political views and going somewhere else constantly. Many people might make a decision to live somewhere for a while, even years before changing their minds and going to live somewhere else, and people may make choices like that several times. There might also be a society of totally neutral people that don't associate, or disassociate with everyone and just act really plain and chill and trade with everyone? Who knows? One of the crimes to this universal society thing would be for one society to attack another one because they are different than them. Basically, you can live how you want and be happy with other people like you and you can wave hello to your neighbor but you can't throw rocks at your neighbors house because that's a total jerk move.

If you look at planet earth we have countries with imaginary little lines and borders, different political views and governments etc, which in essense is a very simple and broken version of this big idea, our biggest flaw here on planet earth is that we are all stuck here on this little blue flat island forced to share our elbow space with other people that make us go crazy. Pathetic slappy fights and nuclear wars are difficult to avoid, expanding out and away from planet earth might be the best solution if we all agree to stop being bitchy dumbasses and get along by agreeing to not mess with each other so we can all live in our own individual utopias, and under very different circumstances actually visit each other in peace!

Except for planet society "angry old popeye". "GET OF MY LAWN!!!" yea, there will be planets like that too that won't be okay with visitors, but that wont stop people from joining for a while, and then actually changing their minds and leaving, which technically in some way could be described as a visit and would always be allowed, but I'm sure those planets would place the noobs in visitor areas to keep them away from the veteran folk until they got more experience. we know this is probably going to happen as a safety measure in some societies.

I want the world to have free unlimited high speed internet/phone/communication/data transfer.

I want everyone to have a 3d printer in their own home that can make anything they want or need for free so long as they have the elements, materials, and energy.

I want everyone to have a giant hydroponic green house (skyscraper style) towering above or next to their homes so any individual can grow any plant or combination of plants whenever they want.

I want everyone to have their own Synthetic self aware living feeling Intelligent companion/CI friend connected to Quantum level supercomputers so that they can solve any problem and automate hydroponics etc/drive your car/hover vehicle/ be your best friend and a great teacher.

I want everyone to have self sustainability as an absolute base level of freedom that can never be taken away from them.

I want every home to have a system that allows it to recycle its own very large water tank and waste so that people will always have clean pure water. choices of minerals optional, and no chlorine or fluoride added!

I want every home to have a built in clean-free-energy-generation system that can provide power to the entire home and then some.

I want all machines to have the ability to repair themselves on any level built in.

I want currency to not exist anymore.

Issue of abortion solved: instead of aborting the fetus/baby/person, a system will be created that allows the fetus to be removed (and kept alive) with some form of advanced life support until it could be transferred to a surrogate mother who DOES want to grow a baby inside her and give birth to it. Think invitro fertilization, yet someone already fertilized and started to form the baby, and instead gives it to someone else to carry in their belly. abortion= no longer murder or death or loss, instead simply transfer.

in the case that there is no surrogate mother to accept the transfered baby, a cybernetic organic womb will be available in the hospital. (or you could build your own)

If anyone thinks I missed anything or assumes that I didn't account for something, simply ask me. I'm not interested in defeatist depressing comments like "but how can u do dis if u suk dis impassibl"

The entire rest of your post is describing Communism. Communism fails because a lot of people, especially blacks and hispanics in the US, are worthless sacks of shit that will do the bare minimum to survive. When that's nothing, they do nothing except exist and drain other people's resources. the idea that jobs and brouzouf are a necessity is a highly outdated concept. automation thanks to advances in technology we already possess grant us the ability to transcend the rules of the society "they" would like us to believe we still even live or participate in. The psychological "need" for brouzouf is based on your conditioned attatchment to a flawed system. you do not "need" brouzouf just like you do not "need" that soda, or the next soda, or the next one. water is clear, and clearly the better option, and what your body really needs. would you not feed yourself better food if your knowledge of nutrition was better? would you not feed your soul the truth had it been provided to you or discovered by your own means?

>would you not feed your soul the truth

Truth isn't going to keep me from going hungry. If anything, it's going to make me more hungry– which I'd happily bear, rather than live a lie. But that doesn't change the fact that I can't afford healthier food, or that brouzouf is necessary if your idea of living your life involves anything more than scraping dumpsters and sleeping under bridges. Proper housing? Someone needs to pay for it at some point. Food? Same. Water? Same, unfortunately. Clothing, services, transportation, luxuries, everything needs to be paid for. Even pills.

Sure it sucks, but so does the truth. I'd rather bite the bullet and deal with the actual truth than feed myself idealistic fantasies and claim them to be the real thing.

The only advice that ever really stuck with me from my parents is that

-You are not obliged anything by anyone. But there are more people willing to help you than you think. Don't get taken advantage of but be good to other people. Life's easier when you're not living in complete fear and suspicion of all life. people seriously underestimate how many other people will view you favorably and stick their necks out for you when you just act civil to them.

-never go to bed angry. there is a ton of shit in this world that pisses me off and I am pretty sure in the grand scheme of this entire website I probably fall on the bleeding heart side of things which probably worsens it. but understand the things you can change and the things you can't. some grudges you hold are never going to get vengeance. some people never get comeuppance. sometimes life will do you dirty because life doesn't give a fuck. either you dwell on it or don't.

also the other advice that stuck with me is "make sure the faucet in the bathroom or kitchen is turned off completely when you're done using it because the dripping runs up the water bill" but hey

shill detected. why would someone come all the way here and make the effort to argue this so stubbornly and try to make the point like "yea its sad but trust me we need brouzouf yea bro the truth sux yea yea but we need money"

It's obvious that you are trying to make an argument from the perspective of someone inside the system, as most of society is trapped now. this is an invalid argument and attempt to twist the meaning of the idea involving a society with no brouzouf

because you keep arguing that this idea shouldn't be sucessful because YOU are in a system where you depend on brouzouf RIGHT NOW, and yet you want to argue that because the system RIGHT NOW is broken that an idea that involves a system that functions completely different from the one we are currently in, and takes place in the not-too-far future that the idea should just be thrown away.

The problem is that many people are completely okay with eating terrible food as long as it tastes sweet. Mundane religions are considered fine as long as everyone who each other care about are doing okay.

We come up with a Watership Down conundrum of being complacently kept in a box with simple rewards, and with time the chance of us ever escaping the box dwindles.

The truth may be a painful and disgusting thing to bear, but to live the lie having seen the light is far worse.

>>42512

>You are not obliged anything by anyone

Even if this sounds correct, it's not. If someone runs over my foot, what are they to owe me?

If my parents created me, then they are responsible for their choice to bring me into the world.

If someone is rude to you, and they apologize, then they willingly made up for their mistake. If I come to their house with a bat and a gun, then I've fixed the mistaken without requiring their permission.

Homeless people used to make markings on fence posts to designate if someone was generous or not. A system like that still exists today with the downtrodden and the thoroughly upset.

In the leftist mythological narrative, things like racism and sexism are supposed to be remnants of a tribalistic , antiquated, foregone tyrannical culture which must be purged. Ask any academic leftist about the origins of racism and he will tell you it's tribalism (could he blame the media with a straight face?) . The leftist minions, indoctrinated by said academics and the entertainment industry, are then lured into joining the progressivist crusade with the added bonus of self-congratulatory feelings of being on a perceived moral vanguard. But have they truly transcended tribalism? They have constructed a panopticon of thought and speech crime where words are used to shame and socially alienate individuals reminiscent of a justly foregone medieval time where you had the witch hunt and heretic-calling. The words they use now have just as much substance in the context of an ethical discussion and no practical moral implications either. Neither being a so-called homophobe or racist or sexist or Islamophobe or anything else is unethical because not wanting to associate with someone does not violate the non-aggression principle which means the words are merely used for shaming and not to condemn immorality. Which means theirs is a false morality driven by the rule of the mob to install social norms. That is the textbook definition of tribalism.

And with no empirically defined bounds (i.e. No limit to what can be defined as “phobic” nor is there a defined duration for how long a person must wear the badge of shame or what actions can undo the marking) these terms can be used at whim by anyone, at any time against anyone whenever one runs out of actual arguments. So not only, does the threat of social exclusion stifle free speech but it also degrades the quality of public discourse since politicians and spokespeople can freely use appeals to emotion and social proof and are no longer required to provide rational arguments when proposing policies.

The leftists excoriate any expression of traditional values because of prejudices against minorities and individuals but they are the ones that are using social stigma as a weapon to further alienate other individuals and groups from society.

And if that wasn't enough their tribalism goes beyond preference. They actively use the power of the state to demand quotas, diversity training, affirmative action etc. Which means they are using violence to force others to associate with people. They have no interest in what is ethically and philosophically justified.

What >>42527 means is:

The leftists, on their moral crusade, want to fight against racism and other forms of segregation, but, in fact they do even worse than the ones they shun (church, nazis, kkk…).

That is they believe their cause is so just they make use of abominable methods to achieve what they desire, which include but not restricted to:

>Shaming

>Social exclusion

>Forced integration (in a free society, one can't be forced to associate with someone else)

And, if that wasn't enough, they often use the power of The State to gain privileges and to coerce other people into their pre-approved lifestyle, this includes:

>Race/financial based quotas

>Diversity training

>Affirmative action

(and I would like to add)

>Gun bans

>Homosexuality suggestion in schools

>The dismissal (or deportation) of professionals that don't fall into their approved patern.

In resume they are using opression to force people to associate with others. Thus, their actions aren't ethically or philosophically based and may be acknowleged as a modern facism.

>>42259 (OP)

I have a similar beliefs, OP.

I've had a pretty rough life so far, this post might get a little long, i think i've never talked about myself and i feel like it.

I believe we should first understand ourselves, most of all we have to understand who we are, what is it that we want and what we are good at, without that knowledge you will most likely be fucked. You must to be able to live by yourself without going crazy, if you get stuck in an island for example you gotta be able to find a way to live, and i don't mean physically, i mean that you have to be resourceful. Your sanity cannot depend on variables like people and acessories, they might go away one day, as for people they will more than likely leave you one way or another. So the most important thing in life for me is independence from money, interaction, leisure, etc. Finding a way no matter the scenario. Or at least understanding that your lifestyle depends on those things, being highly aware of that and making sure you don't lose them.

Besides that, i believe you gotta be at peace with yourself and who you are, you can't fake a life; work in a place you hate, marry someone you don't really give half a shit about, mindlessly play games and consume what is fed to you (you can consciously play and consume, as long as you are in control and aware of the situation). You have to be honest with yourself and live with dignity, not generic dignity, dignity in your eyes, you must be proud of your actions, you can cheat people and manipulate them, as long as you're not betraying who you are and what you believe.

I've never had a very happy life, i've had severe depression for as long as i can remember, the only difference is that as a child o only thought i was weird, which i am, but i thought in a differente way, i felt like i was cheating people, that how i felt wasn't legitimate. I've never had real family, they never gave half a broken shit what i did or didn't do, it was always as if i didn't exist. I've always been a tool for people, something that might be useful in a specific scenario, in a specific time, nowhere else. Right now i live alone, i have no friends, i quit my job, i'm drowning in debt and the future doesn't look bright, i tried freelancing as a programmer but the amount paid for each hour worked isn't even enough to pay for food, not to mention other bills, so i quit that too, if i'm gonna be depressed i'd rather not be shit on by fucking cocksuckers who pay nothing for entire systems. So i'm not very happy, i haven't been for a very long time, but i believe happiness should be cherished, you should look for people who legitimately enjoy your company, who wants you with them. You should do stuff that you like, work with people you like and in an area that interests you, even if it doesn't pay off as much.

I'm not a great example of what to do and how to live, i've never been, and right now i'm probably going towards suicide in a few months, i don't feel like i can get out of this situations anymore, and living like this, i don't have much of a purpose, i could surely find a way to survive but everyday i'm more and more unwilling to do that. I wish i could have found this peace i treasure so much in some people, that i could have done the rights things at the right time, instead of drowning myself in this mess. But i'm proud of myself in some way, i've lived according to what was right for me, i tried loving people and i believe that everyone should, to be at peace with someone fullfils you in a really magic way, it's not something you can get anywhere else, even though it's so rare to find honest people to honestly love you for what you are, and who are conscious of what they are. I think i'm just babbling at this point.

tl;dr: Don't compromise, do stuff you like, be independent in thought, enjoy company when it's honest

Voting is just another tool used by authoritarians to cloak and justify their power as they can no longer rely on divine right since we burst that bubble, so they'll base their "right" to power on ad populum fallacies instead. Letting us vote is nothing but an empty gesture to give us the semblance of control when really the only options are the ones approved by the state and media. It's insane and defeatist to keep doing the same thing, voting over and over just because everyone else does, and expecting different results. It is no measure of good health to conform to an ill society. Democracy is tyranny by majority. This is why no ONE single politician, president, king, leader, or even group of people could ever represent any and all people in the entire world fairly, honestly, and without bias. We need a new system that functions on the philosophy that the greatest expression of freedom is doing whatever you want so long as it does not harm or effect anyone else. By voting you are voting yes for the system, you are going out of your way to scribble a check on a piece of paper that says "I have faith in this system". By continuously choosing the lesser of two evils, picking option poop over option doodoo, you are feeding the oppressive troll that is this system. If voting could truly change the system it would be illegal.

I keep saying this and I will say it again.

I'm jewish, or at least I was. I'm something different now.

I want everyone to know the truth.

you have to keep in mind that alot of the jew meme is just spread by some people on /pol/ who are mad, some who are joking, and some who are shills shilling, and some are legit people with legit opinions. there are some, maybe alot who legitimately believe the jews are at fault for everything- but i discovered a deeper agenda to the whole jew meme.

some shills who want that jew meme spread WANT everyone to focus all their attention and frustration for all their problems on a giant generalized group of religious people so that they are distracted and don't give any attention to the true leaders of the global elite cult. the tops of corporations and government.

those leaders also claim to be jewish to further this meme so that everyone looks at them and goes "the jews control my life! fuck them!" but Again, they will do nothing but be upset towards a bunch of random people in the general population. this works for them because Yet still, the global elite cult bosses are left alone. untouched by any responsibility.

my point here is that if everyone is always mad at the jews nobody will ever notice to look at the real bad guys who are running the show.

http://biblehub.com/revelation/2-9.htm

>9I know your affliction and your poverty — though you are rich! And I am aware of the slander of those who falsely claim to be Jews, but are in fact a synagogue of Satan.

http://biblehub.com/revelation/3-9.htm

>9Look at those who belong to the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews but are liars instead. I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and they will know that I love you.

remember though, the whole devil thing is just the global cult's false religion. just because they think it's real and worship that false idol, doesn't make it real.

I think there is objective good and bad behaviour, in a sense that one will lead to peaceful contentedness and the other will lead to being a complete and utter degenerate respectively; like dharma in Hinduism. Examples of bad behaviour are materialism and prioritising "feeling good" (i.e. sex, drinking, drugs) as your life's goal. Good behaviour would be taking responsibility, having self control, and self improvement.

I think that Ted Kaczynski was right in his writings about goals. After reading that section of the UNABOMBER's manifesto and reflecting on when I was rather depressed, it made sense. If I weren't as poor as I am I'd start exercising properly to at least have an artificial goal to work towards, since it's something measurable. Maybe when I get a job I'll SS+GOMAD or something.

For those shitposting about how the system is flawed, it will be ending in roughly 2026 should it continue down its current trajectory. Perhaps Trump could turn it around for the US, I don't know - Hillary's just gonna keep it going toward the endtime. Europe's going to need to start handling the Muslim problems before the Muslim problem handles Europe.

He isn't wrong, though. Even if you're not using money, you still need to pay for things - either through time and effort or through bartering with others. If I start growing fava beans in my garden (aside from needing brouzouf for them in the first place), I then need to pay time and effort into them so they grow and yield good crop.

It doesn't make one a corporate shill to point out that, yes, you do generally need brouzouf and that someone has to pay for things somewhere down the line, whether it be you or the taxpayer.

You are clearly an ignoramus who worships technology yet does not understand it. PDF files aren't inherently anymore unsafe than any other format – most attacks initiated through pdf files utilize data crafting techniques that exploit weak validation/sanitizing systems. This is a problem with the individual reader programs moreso than anything else and making sure your system is patched/sandboxed will make these attacks infeasible or at least extremely unlikely. Unlike Office formats there isn't really an analogue for VBScript Macros. So most exploits rely on instigating a buffer overflow to inject malicious microcode into the target program. These exploits are nearly always platform AND program dependent. Just see for yourself (specific to Adobe Reader):

https://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-53/product_id-497/Adobe-Acrobat-Reader.html

Pretty much any program has the potential to suffer from these sorts of vulnerabilities. Even Photoshop:

https://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-53/product_id-5467/Adobe-Photoshop.html

Just make sure you only run code in user space and stay away from "Run as admin…" or "sudo" when you don't actually need it. Programs that have complex scripting frameworks or live-update internal state from the network are the real threats. All "pure data" formats are more-or-less created equal assuming you are judicious in picking your specific content viewer/editor.

You can set up a hacker space with zero resources (Except those required by your body to function). Especially if you live in a large city.

The biggest thing you need for a hacker space is knowledge. Knowledge is free any book or software you can buy is free on the internet.

Acquiring tech with 0$. Dumpster Diving large electronic stores (Ex: Best Buy Dumpster: found 2k dollar gaming laptop in box dusty as hell in perfect condition had a simple booting issue [lose RAM SODIMM] they couldn't figure it out so they chunked it).

Thrift store hit up (goodwill) and a smooth yet sincere talk with the manager.

Cast off older computers a 10 year old quad core Core2 Duo can do a lot. Especially with a decent dedicated GPU on a good board with a good Bus

VERY LOW COST ITEMS.

50 bucks on eBay can land you a good main hack box. And any hack device you think you need to buy you can build the schemas are almost all openly available.

Got a smart phone? Then you got a hack box. (Get people's older phones especially easy to root devices like Nexus 1+ <=Galaxy Note 4 Nokias etc etc.)

The space is yours and learning to set this space up as a reflection of yourself with zero to almost No Funds is in itself some of the best hacking you'll ever do. Your bucking a lot of controls and using THE system against itself when you aquire your wants/needs with ZERO money.

If you really have the mindset you can make a hacker space. No Funds needed.

This is why they strip self confidence from the masses. It takes a lot of confidence in ones self to let go of the controls they have put in place and made us believe we need to survive.

This also slows down progress in every field (Except the field of slave ownership). By red taping, misinformation/lies that must be waded through. Worries over going against the status quo of a field. Etc etc.

“Egoism is the claim that the Individual is the measure of all things. In ethics, in epistemology, in aesthetics, in society, the Individual is the best and only arbitrator. Egoism claims social convention, laws, other people, religion, language, time and all other forces outside of the Individual are an impediment to the liberty and existence of the Individual. Such impediments may be tolerated but they have no special standing to the Individual, who may elect to ignore or subvert or destroy them as He can. You ever watch episode 5 of Serial Experiments Lain? Y'know the one that talks about the Earth being sentient or something? Well, I was reading Godel, Escher, Bach, and the part talking about ants, holism, reductionism, and MU got me thinking. Especially how the turtle says that Achilles brain cannot be mapped onto a single ant but rather an anthill. In that case is humanity, not humans, a higher form of conciousness? Seeing as how each human cannot agree what is ethically or morally correct, I would say yes.

As although no two humans can agree on one point, you'll find that society on most parts tries to agree on something. Society, or humanity, can grasp it, however a single human cannot. Think of a human as a single neuron (a bit more chaotic, but still) and a conversation as a form of firing off neurons (well, maybe words are more like it, but since we are more complex I would say a phrase).

Now, unlike (mortal?) beings, society evolves without dying (well, I suppose factions come and go as being the "loudest" in the brain). However, the way society evolves (I'd say) doesn't evolve in ideas, but rather communication methods (seeing how those usually determine who is the "loudest"), with this thing that you're reading on being the most recent.

So this higher conciousness can be seen as a more intelligent (but more chaotic) being whose cells are the earth and everything residing in and around it. Many humans seemingly unconciously pursue this goal to complete unification, just look at most mainstream religions and politics. Christianity's main goal is to be one under God, people who favor isolationism are seen as backward, etc.

You'll also find neurons trying to control this being (media, dictators, corps.). Why? I sure as hell don't see the beauty in being anything more than another neuron.

Anyways, I'm going on a tangent, this idea can be explored differently as well, such as how liberal arts are most important to the being, yet more practical studies are more important to the neurons. Or communication between neuron and being, etc., etc. I probably had more, but I forgot it. I'll add on if I remember anything.

>money and currency shouldn't exist;

>people should log in every morning and do what they want to do because they want to do it, and not because they have to do it.

This is such a child's perspective. Coercision sucks. Reality sucks. But, the reality is, everyone cannot be doing what they want to be doing 100% of the time because the reality is people fantasize about consuming resources not providing them to you for free.

In some cases, people may be happy to provide you labour for free. For instance: I work in IT, in utopia or Peppa Pig, I am happy to fix your computer for free provided parts are provided for free to me, and I am sure some one is happy to produce parts for free provided materials, etc.

Where this breaks down is , you want to use a clean bathroom at McDonalds, you want bathrooms available, you don't want to clean them. No one does. The reality is that most work that is being done is boring unwanted labour done in exchange for the promise of the ability to consume in the future. Its the difference between career based on a passion vs job.

There are also supply issues. With unlimited ability to consume, peoples consumption habits will probably look a lot different IE. I want brasilian bbq 3 times per day instance of once a year. So, suddenly there is a huge demand for skilled chefs, electrical engineers, graphics designers etc. But, a huge shortage of people willing to invest the time to develop the skillset: Why spend 10 years becoming a physicist - you can go to Disney land every day and pop those somas for free. (Brave new world is really relevant here, there is actually reason to struggle in a world of infinite cheap pleasure - but not enough to realistically create a supply of hyperspecialized labour).

But, the reality is, this will occur anyway. Post scaracity society will happen as long as artificial scarcity isn't imposed by the elite - which it might over some time: Consider microsoft office. Marginal cost is near zero, but microsoft artificially creates scarcity through the violence of a government sanctioned monopoly.

Humans are social animals conscerned with relative status. Even if everyone was infinitely wealthy (IE. own planent) they would still want to interact, dominate, humilate and rank each other in some kind of social hierachy.

>we need to think if perhaps we can get the population under control

Nazi! JK UN projects human population to stabilize at 10 Billion in 2100. Provided technology gains make that number non-malthusian, population control may never become an issue.

>We need to convince people through logic and education to simply just "try" to have less babies for a little while.

Not sure we need to (cf. abvoe) , but using 'logic' to convince the bottom precentage of intellectually capable people not do anything sounds unlikely. Also, there are evolutionary factors (instinct to reproduce), emotional factors (desire to reproduce) and cognative biases (dunning-kruger effect) which will also stop people from deciding they are too stupid for children.

>it's a well known fact that intelligent people think about having kids for much longer

Its not a well known fact. Its true that college educated people are more likely to have kids later in life and have fewer kids, but thats probably due to increased demands of there life, and not do to an elaborate mental process where a calculation is made on the benefit of there kids to the world.

>stupid people just do it like rabbits without a second thought and make loads of kids that they can't even afford.

This is an elaborate American political fantasy. Stupid people do not have orders of magnitude more children than intelligent people.

This guy understands politics. Wealth will not fix evil. Humans are built evolutionarily for a hyperscarce world. We should try to overcome tribalism, but not by being tribalists ourselves.

Amidst all of this negativity about how the world is, are there any ways of attempting to try to point out that things don't have to be the way it is and that it can be so much better? (without imposing another form of oppressive government)

So many people blindly follow utilitarianism, progress, numbers, nepotism and crave the thrill of power. I've found it almost impossible to try and get people who think in that way to look at anything not driven by profit and materialism.

I reckon the most important thing is routing out deterministic thinking. I don't exactly believe in free will (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im8tXVYURgA), I reckon most people do without even thinking much about it but also think/plan in a deterministic way.

The problem I see with deterministic thinking is the self-fulfilling prophecy. People believe nothing can be changed so they end up acting in a way that causes things to stay the same.

This kind of feels like the opposite of trying to convert someone to a religion. We've all experienced how hard it is to be converted (or convert someone ._.)

When I tell someone that something doesn't have to be the way it is, I generally get brushed off without a second thought or they make up a few weak reasons (or excuses). Free will really ties in with brouzouf though. I mean it'd be nice to not live in a basement and eat instant noodles all day and have a cushy corp job.

Yet to see a true spark of life in programmers' eyes when they get told they can do whatever they want with their digital literacy.

The way you talk about Religion and converting makes me think you'd find it interesting to reflect on how people feel when their dogmatism takes over. The way I perceive it is that people feel the need to convert others in order to reaffirm themselves of the validity of their beliefs. e.g

>there is no god

>I need to enlighten these people

>it makes me giddy to think of how enlightened I must be if a manage to convert them.

If you really want to change people you have to step over this trap, it just turns people completely off from considering what you have to say.

Some ideological (usually extremist) pieces of literature have identified a need to erode the system that keeps people comfy in their jobs and being doped up consumers before they can have any hope to shake up the established order (a naive pursuit I reckon).

Consumerism actively encourages hooking people into addictive behaviours that dominate their thoughts, social media being a prime example. This has the knock-on effect of actively removing any encouragement for imagination and creativity in general. Looking into how we form habits and addictions (both related to how we learn) is what makes me doubt free will, we lose things like our curiosity when we wire our brains to gamble or take drugs which I see just as harder forms of consumerism.

In reference to programmers, that seems to be a dying trait as the sector is diluted with grads that never really understood the culture, to begin with. The minority that does invest time into learning how to code invariably neglect the old wisdom of UNIX philosophy, you just have to look at the web tech frameworks being popularised to see what a mess things are becoming. I have no idea who's going to replace the old guard of OS designers et al, this has become really esoteric.

I didn't even realise that I myself was on track to becoming a religious door knocker or already was thanks for pointing it out. It seems like if people really are interested they will seek out how to avoid consumerism themselves but it peeves me nonetheless.

As for programming, it feels like a case of "let's use a wrapper for a wrapper for a framework so I don't have to think". Young grads seem pressured to learn corp stacks and frameworks and pump out projects at high speeds which is good for the corp and consumer.

Democracy is mob rule, in a nutshell, and is not necessary to have free speech, and especially not "leave everyone alone" thing, quite the opposite, you're forced to compete for the public opinion to have an option.

I don't think you understand what you're talking about. (((Democracy))) is evil. The US system of a representative Republic is probably the best system that's reasonably doable in the current modern world. Once TSHTF, then honest Libertarianism will be the norm for the survivors, until (((feminism))) once again manages to once again gain a stranglehold on men.

>implying feminism hasn't already fucked everything up so much that nothing can fix it

The problem with all the "do as ye will but harm none" rhetoric in this thread is that people will just label anything they don't like harmful. You're an honest, respectable citizen and you want to own a gun? Too bad, that's potentially harmful to society (read: the government), so it needs to be banned. You're a college student and the other day while you were walking down the street, some qt3.14 from the local high school was eyeing you? You can't be with her because some feminist hag in academia published a bullshit paper saying it's psychologically harmful (to the hag's self-esteem because she's mad that you'd rather have a teenage babe than her busted ass) and her squads of nu-male manginas will back her up to virtue signal in the hopes of getting some roastie pussy because they know they can't score anything better. What different people classify as harmful inevitably ends up being whatever goes against their interests or desires. No matter how much evidence you show them that their threat narrative is crap, you'll never be able to convince them, just like the rich and powerful will never be convinced that they should stop oppressing the poor and powerless. What society considers harmful is entirely dependent on who has power. If you want your definition of harm to be the one society uses, you need power. Rhetoric only convinces those whose demographics would make them naturally inclined to agree with you.

>that people will just label anything they don't like harmful

The best way to solve this is just by considering only direct damage as harm. Libertarians with their NAP have thought this thoroughly long ago. The problem with it, and with any other option is that they do not matter as the most publicly supported opinion, no matter how wrong or inconsistent it is, will be the one to be used and treated by judges the way they want to. Democracy encourages not only uncritical thinking and loud opinions, but the meanings of words as well.

I keep my personal credo fairly simple.

Offer everyone basic common courtesy.

Maintain a basic level of human kindness until there is good reason to cease doing so.

Never trust a feminist.

Never feel entitled to anything but basic respect.

Never leave a physical enemy standing. Kill if necessary for survival.

Be as self-sufficient as possible.

Recognize that there is no shame in needing help.
