It's absolutely terrible that so many people think nothing of it, they even go so far as to dehumanize unborn babies. I'm libertarian, so I don't think the state should tell people what they can and can't do for every aspect of their lives, but even from a secular perspective abortion is murder, and murder is never okay because it infringes on the rights of another. Tell me about it. Yesterday, on Facebook, one of my nieces posted a text meme roughly saying "If you support the abortion ban, unfriend me. There is nothing to discuss between us. You are no friend of mine, and no friend of women." One of my female cousins liked and approved it as well. As for how to talk to these people about it: your miles may vary. I personally find it's better to err on the side of logic and loving patience, forbearance and kindness. The hardline fire and brimstone approach tends to make most people defensive and combative, and hardened of heart. Then again, the latter approach may be what certain people need to hear. Pray to the Holy Spirit for discernment in this matter. And always remember: at the end of the day, God is in control, and as long as you persevere, it will all work out in the end, whether in this life or the next.

Also, never underestimate God's ability to change hearts and minds. Whether it be the Apostle Paul, or an ex-druggie/hippie/hipster/LarPagan like yours truly: do not give up on praying for your family and loved ones, ever. For if an unrighteous judge will hear the cries of widow for justice just based on wanting to make her go away due to her persistence, how much more will a loving merciful God answer the prayers of one who loves him?
