Just realised I didn't reply but I was going to.
I feel exactly the same. One day I walked past a mother and her daughter on the street, the mother said to the daughter who was on a bike 'careful not to hit the man' or something along those lines. I was shocked someone actually referred to me as a man and I don't remember ever being called that before then. I'm not independent at all, I can't drive, I can't cook, I've never had a job, shit facial hair (low T), social memexiety and most importantly I'm a KHV. Sure, no problem, happy to try and explain it, although it may be tricky if you don't know the basic principles of subtractive synthesis. That's a whole post of it's own at least.
Assuming you're talking about the bass synth, that particular synth sounds to me like it consists of two saw waves an octave apart, and a low pass filter (sets a cut off frequency and mutes frequencies above it, while allowing frequencies below it) with the resonance turned up fairly high (boosts the frequencies around the area of the low pass filter's cut off point, it makes a sort of whistling sound) and with keyboard tracking (the filter opens up as you go up the keyboard, closes as you go down). The filter is being modulated by a keyboard-triggered envelope gate (attack, decay, sustain, release - ADSR, activated whenever a note is pressed), with a short but not immediate attack (similar to making a "wa-" or "bwa-" sound with your mouth), and then a longish decay (similar to "-eeoow" with your mouth).
On top of this, there sounds like there's some sort of flanger effect, in fact the whole track sounds like it's drenched in flangers, particularly the drums. I think that's a strange decision personally, but I guess he was going for a more trippy/psychedelic sound. In the early - mid 80s it wasn't unusual to put effects like flangers and phasers on things like hi-hats and claps, to make drum machines sound a little more "alive", but I've never heard of anyone drowning the whole thing in flange, it just sounds odd.
Almost every synth has a different way of hooking up the filter / resonance, so unless you know the exact synth or VST they used it's hard to perfectly recreate the sound, and the same certainly goes for flangers and other effects, but I made a quick approximation (using the pic related) just to show I'm not completely talking out of my arse: https://my.mixtape.moe/qdsxzs.mp3
Regarding the song in general, it's clearly very YMO inspired (if you're not familiar with them, get familiar with them, pioneers of electronic dance music and synthpop, and were way ahead of their time in the late 70s / early 80s, second only perhaps to Kraftwerk in terms of influence on electronic music as a whole), and the creator has admitted so in his own comments section. It's inspired by the whole "early 80s, New York, electro-funk/boogie" sound in general, although that should without saying, as that sound borrowed heavily from YMO and Kraftwerk in the first place. I also don't know whether this was a conscious choice, a subconscious influence, or sheer coincidence, but I can hear a bit of "Carrie Lucas - Dance With You" (specifically the part at 1:52 - 2:10) in the chord progression, although most would probably recognise it as the main sample used in "Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me".

But yeah regarding spice and wolf it's hard as all adaptations I hear differ to an extent, I saw the anime and I liked holo better as she kinda seemed less cynical, like I'm pretty sure holo tries to kill (((Lawrence))) in the manga but it quickly gets dropped, the ending of the anime is too nebulous I hear compared to the manga but so far I have not finished the manga, the light novel is purportedly best iteration.

If it makes you feel any better, I was the first to respond and congratulate him on his more optimistic update ( >>53268 ), unlike the one other anon who just called him a normie. Regarding your reason why you think I initially responded to one situation positively and the other negatively, I don't think your theory checks out. Firstly, they are two completely different situations, with the only similarity being "sudden appearance of a girl who is overly romantically interested considering the circumstances". Secondly, I can relate to neither of these anon's lifestyles, but I can certainly relate to the miserable pessimism and suicidal thoughts that train-anon was going through, far more than I can the optimism/working out/flirting/bantering of milf-anon in fact.
