Because the whole site is a lot slower paced, it's less addictive and mind-consuming, which gives you more opportunity to be productive, do a hobby, or at the very least waste your time doing something else that isn't imageboards. There's generally a much higher chance of having an engaging discussion too.

None of this is exclusive to 8chan, almost any active imageboard is a much more pleasant place to discuss things or have a few laughs than halfchan.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone however. The only reason I still eat fast food every so often is because my family has bought it for me, and I'm really at their whim when it comes to food. It's what I did around April, a friend showed me a program called Sugar the bitter truth. I've not had any cereals since then and i've only had crisps on around 6 - 7 occasions in the last 2 months or so. You just lose any craving for them eventually. I went to uni and fucking hated it, first year was okay, but it was very general, most IT courses were doing almost the same subjects, plus there was the "I'm living away from home" feeling, when it started to specialise in second year it got shit, I didn't realise how horribly depressed I was until halfway through the year, I'd spent an entire week in bed only getting up to answer the door for the takeaways I ordered. By that time I thought that I may as well finish uni because I'm halfway through.

I got out with a third, and while I'm a bit disappointed if I didn't realise how shit I was feeling when I did, I might not have got out at all, so I dont mind, but i basically skipped 90% of my lectures and stuff in the third year, did the bear minimum and mostly concentrated on trying to somewhat enjoy myself, which was hard because I knew how much I was screwing up my future by only doing the bare minimum. I don't have any useful advice or anything though. I just kept doing what you're experiencing everyday until I was numb to it, and then 7 years later, I finally got to the point where I'd had enough of fear, anxiety and depression ruining my life, and I started actively looking for help.

All I can suggest is keep posting and talking to whoever you can, even if it's just on here. I bottled everything up and spoke to nobody for years, which delayed and worsened the inevitable breakdown, and kept my mind running on delusions and faulty logic because none of my thoughts were being challenged.

It wasn't a dream, I had them for lunch at least once a week until they stopped making them. I remember that monster being in a monster munch advert too. Maybe that's what I should look for next.

The first one involves some kind of chair, but it has two beams that are on both sides which will point towards the person's head and melt their brains. Here is a crudely drawn depiction of the chair. The last one seems to be more vivid. One of the most memorable scenes is a man tied to a chair, another man starts searching through a row of jars on human tongues, each jar is labeled with the name of the person he severed it from. He contemplates which tongue he want's to feed the man tied to the chair. In the same movie I remember a scene of a man being hung from a staircase with a tie whilst his wife tries to save him.

Im really enjoying it, I really enjoyed doing the coding classes when I was in uni, but there was only one in my first year and one in my second year, the course didn't really focus on it at all, and students who did what I did were known for being bad at code compared to other IT students.
