The plan was for me to just buy a small bottle of milk for my mum and her boyfriend they have semi-skimmed, whereas I have whole milk while everyone is out of the house, then she would call her boyfriend when he finishes work to check if there's any milk. If there is, then she knows I've bought some and doesn't need to buy any, but if there isn't she will know I haven't, and will go and get some on her way home like she normally does.

When we came up with this yesterday, I felt really confident about it, like I would definitely be able to do it, no problem. But now that it's the actual day, my anxiety of going to a shop alone has gone crazy, and I just want to stay in my room, curl up in a ball and cry instead.

Skimmed milk. They didn't have any semi-skimmed, so it had to do, I wasn't going to walk out empty handed after actually getting myself to go inside.

The guy also didn't give me a bag, so I had to walk back holding the milk by the handle which was freezing, but honestly it was bloody cold out there anyway so it didn't make much difference.

I was really supposed to take a look around to see what they have in case I ever wanted to buy something again, but I just saw the milk as soon as I walked in, grabbed it, waited in the queue some little half-black kid tried to jump in front of me, but he realised his mistake and apologised so I didn't look too beta for not calling him out, paid for it fumbled a bit with getting the money out of my wallet because my hands were shaking, then walked out.

I know that feel, all my family are poorfags, and I never attempted to integrate myself within the family beyond my parents and my sister.

Fuck it whatever. After finishing school (where I was constantly bullied by the people who now call themselves my friends) I went to college to do a BTEC, when there I spoke to no one in my classes, but somehow managed to get a girlfriend, she wasnt good looking and was a bit of a sperg too. College was easy, and I did surprisingly well.

I then spent two years sitting at homein my underwear playing super mario world romhacks, my girlfriend broke up with me right at the end of college and for the next two years I talked to only my mum and dad. I tried to kill myself and fucked it up, my dad told me "why the fuck couldnt you just do it properly" and told me I needed to do something with my life or he'd kick me out of the house.

At this point I went to uni and throughout the entire time suffered from depression and anxiety, I missed lectures and tutorials because I couldnt physically leave my room because I thought everyone would laugh at me for being stupid, I did however somehow get on with my flatmates, who I moved in with.

Heres the secret I figured out at uni: If I'm drunk, all the anxiety goes away. When I'm sober I cant deal with crowds, all the people speaking are too loud and it overwhelms me, when Im drunk it's just background noise. While I used this to make friends with the people I lived with, I also run into the people that used to bully me back home, and being a drunk idiot somehow befriended them, now they bother me all the time, and I try not to reply but get dragged out monthly. The people from work are doing something similar now.

I still fucked uni up, all of my grades were barely scraped passes, so I'm never going to get a job related to what I studied, one module I failed all the assignments, made it up to 35% on the final exam and got componsated which is horrible. While I was a student I was poor as hell, so couldnt actually drink that much and get away from the anxiety, but still just about managed a social life, but not an academic one.

Now I work in a shop, I've got enough money to get drunk, I dont remember the last time I left the house without a couple of shots of sambuca but it really fucking helps me.

So now I'm working a shit job forever, living in a house with a father that wants me dead, and I can only sustain any sort of functioning lifestyle by drinking.

So yeah, here's my advice for struggling robots: Drink, and you'll be somewhat okay.

Yeah, sorry for sounding so angry about it, but you're always calling me out, and I don't like to go to into detail usually because I'm always paranoid that people I know will see it and I'll get sectioned or something, despite most of them not even knowing what 8chan is.

For the record, if I did all the things I do now without the drinking and anxiety then I'd consider myself a normie, but I consider "making it" to be a similar situation, but actually liking the people I know, and being able to wake up early in the mornings.

In all honesty, despite the fact that it's "helped" me, I wouldn't really recommend drinking, at least not to the extent I do, I'm very aware my liver is going to suffer from it, although I've only been drinking this much since the summer started so I might not be too far gone. I know it needs to stop, bit I do somewhat enjoy feeling like I'm part of a friend group, even if I can't stand them.

It's not a good place for me to be, and it's taken me until this year, and my dad to get his own house, for me to realise it. I never mentioned this before, but he has had to live with his parents in the home he grew up in for the last 16 years.

When I'm here I get to hang out with my dad, we talk about many things, play cards, go for random drives, and go for walks, it's just really nice. My room here is proper empty too, there's nothing besides a bed, a bedside cabinet, and a lamp. It's bliss.

Been reading up more on aspergers and symptoms that I hadnt known about before, I'm ticking a lot of boxes.

Love of routines - I like to schedule things all the time, and if somehting changes my entire day is off, like my dad gives me a lift somewhere instead of me catching a but and I then have a terrible day because of that.

Sensory difficulties - I've mentioned before as a kid I couldnt deal with the end of class and everyone talking, chairs scraping across the floor and me feeling like the world is falling apart. I also cant deal with crowds, and feel like when people speak its really loud and I can hear absolutely everything all at once, stuff like packets ruffling also really aggrivates me more than it should. I've also always been somewhat clumsy, and never been able to do shoes up the normal way, just bunny ears and I dont think I taste right, which has given me problems with food. (I dont eat fruit or vegetables)

Social stuff - I have difficulty identifying faces and voices unless I see someone daily, I cant make eye contact, I dont understand body language. I also have major problems making friends. I also dont like speaking, and will try head nods as much as possible, and a lot of the time prefer to just sit there and let other people speak. If I think someone else may say what I was thinking, then Ill just completely let them do it. I also have difficulty knowing when its my turn to speak when Im talking to someone, and get aggravated when I think its my turn but they keep speaking.

There's also something about repetitive motions too, stuff like hand twists (which I do) and I also have a head twitch, not involuntary but it makes me feel safe(?)

I dont know why Im going through this, I'm never going to go speak to my GP about it, cant deal with actually physically talking about it, but it's nice to just type it all up in words.

Personally, I can't say I recommend going to the doctors about asperger's, because I just got put on waiting lists and sent around to different clinics for years, for nothing more than a bit of paper saying that I have asperger's syndrome on it and ESA money (autismbux) that dissuades me from ever working. Then again, there's no help for autism or asperger's anywhere near where I live, and honestly I think getting diagnosed at 17 was far too late for me or my parents to do anything about it anyway.

I would suggest looking into social anxiety though, because it sounds like you have developed many of it's features due to asperger's that could be limiting your ability to function in the world, like being unable to talk to your GP I'm the same, I still go in with my mum and she does all the talking. The good thing about social anxiety is that you can actually do something about it unlike asperger's, although it's not quick or easy.

I recommend the book "Overcoming Social Anxiety and Shyness" by Gillian Butler. I've only read a little bit of it myself so far, but it does a good job in the beginning of explaining the features of social anxiety, and how socially anxious people differ from those who are not, which should at least confirm to you whether it's something worth pursuing or not.

Depression is a tricky one. I didn't mention it in my last post, but before I was on the mental health circuit for asperger's, I had originally gone in for depression. Again, lots of waiting lists, which means a lot of sitting at home feeling hopeless for months/years, only to get either turned away or receive no help.

The only thing I really got out of it were some SSRIs. If you've never been on them, it's worth a shot, but my experience with them was a bad one. Also bear in mind that I did all this around 2009-2011, in a town that is majorly unequipped for mental health, so perhaps the systems and practices will have improved or at least be better for you.

I will say that I found most of the effects of depression to be caused by my daily activities/routine, or lack of, and the way I processed my thoughts and experiences. It could perhaps be far more productive and worth your time to focus on these things, rather than wasting valuable time believing the NHS can do anything for you at all for years.

Private therapy is another option of course, but my experiences with that were related to social anxiety rather than depression, and were not only a waste of time, but a waste of money too, although that was mostly due to the extent of my social anxiety rendering me unable to speak. CBT is likely what you will be offered, however it is in fact a very simple concept, and can easily be learned through reading websites and books instead.

Do not mistake my advice as telling you to not get help or bottle it up inside though, that would only make your current problems worse, and I do suggest at least a single visit to your GP. At the very least, you can always talk about your issues with us, with other boards, or even on different websites entirely. There are plenty of other people currently feeling depressed and lonely out there, trust me on that at least, for I am one of them.

What is it that you start to dislike exactly?

My mind sometimes tries to visualise and piece together other anons lifestyles from the things that they post, and sometimes I feel irrationally envious or even a sense of betrayal if they casually mention doing something I can't do or having something I don't have.
