A bit related I have had visions in my dreams (usually when I am drunk) wherein I explain certain Asatru related things to a formless entity. Like one I recall talking about the origins of Easter (Eostre, Ostarra, etc). Another I was explaining what Yggdrasil was and what it's name meant and stuff. I also get visits from dead relatives who give me personal life advice. One time I even asked a question of a relative and that very night I had the answer from said relative.

When I was a baby my mother saw her brother (dead at the time) standing over my crib and looking down at me smiling. So I always felt sensitive to those things. I have seen ghosts before too and heard things talking to me when I was half asleep. It might all be nothing or in my mind but I don't know.

I have performed successful blots to the gods. By successful I meant I felt a presence, had epiphanies, found enlightenment on some things cloudy to me, etc. I even felt rejuvenated the morning after a blot (Had a hurt back awhile back and nothing was helping the pain so I offered a blot to Eir and Frigg and the next morning the pain stopped).

One vision I had was when I was walking home from work I saw the clouds (after a thunderstorm) form into a head of a bearded man. After awhile his face contorted as if he was angry. It changed to eventually looked like a baby with curly hair. Then another cloud drifted in and the image looked like that of a baby holding a serpent in his hand (as if the baby was strangling it) and the serpent was spewing venom in the baby's face. Then the serpent disappeared and the baby had serpent eyes. This was all while I was awake too and this whole thing went on for a span of 20 minutes.

Your experiences sound similar to mine growing up; I learned words such as 'Seaxna' and 'Irmin', as well as frequently dreaming of and communicating with my ancestors. This Lady was surrounded by flying women, all seemed to be racing to somewhere. Needless to say, it was a pretty intense journey back home. I was however, very grateful to have been shown such as vision, even if I cannot decipher it.

I think something being quantified can be a good thing, but I think a level of both could be good - a rough phenotypical examination to see what Europid "type" the person falls into as well as a check of recent ancestry and/or genetics.
