I think something being quantified can be a good thing, but I think a level of both could be good - a rough phenotypical examination to see what Europid "type" the person falls into as well as a check of recent ancestry and/or genetics. I know that physical anthropology, classifying people as Atlantid or Nordid or whatever is pretty fucking loose and not an exact science (though they are generally a reasonably useful and accurate indicator of roughly where someone's ancestry likely comes from), but that's why I think it should be accompanied by something scientific and quantifiable like a genetic test.
