I especially enjoyed Sound of Drop since it took place in a haunted aquarium which has not really been touched in any game that I played. Also, the version which was on Steam which contained additional story routes and two additional endings with one feeling like a complete ending.
Doki Doki Literature Club actually got me into VNs. Before I did not think much of them but I became more open after DDLC.
Also for those who want to try Trick and Treat, you have to get the other endings before getting the final one but don't worry since each story route is short.

I played this some decade ago and it started at chapter 17 or something.
There was some gameplay section that is pretty bad, but the story was fun and all the characters (3-4+narrator and 2-3 monsters) are all voiced by 2 VAs. And you can hear they had fun doing it.
