Recently I read through One Thousand Lies and its epilogue The Hidden Truth. It has an overall humorous story that takes a few psychological twists and has good revelations at the end.
It is free and is not really a game since it does not give you any choice options.
It's free so you don't have to watch a playthrough.

I played this some decade ago and it started at chapter 17 or something.
There was some gameplay section that is pretty bad, but the story was fun and all the characters (3-4+narrator and 2-3 monsters) are all voiced by 2 VAs. And you can hear they had fun doing it.
Unfortunately I lost the iso along other stuff a few years ago.

Not too many. Grisaia series is probably the only one I've gone through that I'd consider a proper VN, the rest is casual bullshit everyone knows about like KS. I still know what people are talking about when they use the joke names of certain ones so I'm not out of the loop, I just don't indulge much. Though I DID get through all of Euphoria on the insistence of someone I know to prove I could. Whatever that was, it was sure a lot of it.

Fuwanovel is good for older translated VNs. Your other best bet is one of the cats. Typically VNs go under Sukubei because they often contain fap. You might find some non-fap ones under that category too.
