Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan New sisters, eating together
Sachi got herself a stepsister, Ayari. With their parents on a honeymoon cruise around the world, the two girls are left behind, burdened with moving to a new place and have to manage their everyday lives by themselves.
At first, Sachi was worried being alone with the strange girl that's constantly glaring at her. But Ayari was actually just nervous herself and through cooking she can show her true personality.

>Chicken or something from that family
>A handful of walnuts in small pieces (about 1/8 pieces)

>Some chocolate

>No onions because I hate onions. Freezedried or pulverized works
Essentially I took the recipe I got from a nazi and added things from anime, though the nuts were my own idea. Everyone I cooked it for loves it, my grandma called it a "mushroom sauce" however.

I think both are good. As long as the food is tasty and fills you up without being complete garbage, it is good food.
Also, learn to make pizza yourself rather than ordering out.
Pepsi is shit though. If you're not having beer with your pizza, at least have cheerwine or even coke.

Natto (なっと)
This is a fermented soybean product. The beans are stinky and slimy. Most westerners hate it. I'm one of the weird ones that loves it. It's one of the few soy foods I'll eat. It's very healthy. It's probiotic, loaded with vitamin k2 (the only source for you vegancucks), and also contains a fibrinolytic enzyme that helps prevent heart attacks and stroke. To prepare it, you open the package, apply the provided condiments, usually mustard and tare sauce, then stir the shit out of it to really develop that spiderweb-like slime. Then put on some rice and eat.
I also really like Tazukuri (田作り)
It's little fried anchovies/baby sardines called niboshi. You can buy them dry. They are also used for making dashi. You put them in a hot skillet and let them dry out and get crispy. In another pan, cook mirin, water, sugar, and soy sauce until it cooks down and gets slightly syrupy. Then add the sauce to the little fishies and stir to coat them well. I usually cook it a little longer, but once they're coated you can go to the next step. Spread on a plate to cool. They are sweet and salty and crunchy and fishy and go well with booze. There are similar dishes throughout pretty much all of coastal Asia. Pretty much any Asian market will have some of type little crispy anchovies of this prepackaged for you to try. I particularly like the spicy variations.

Sushi (and other similar bite-size foods like nigiri etc)
Sashimi
Soba
and that's it
I see so much tasty stuff in anime that I want to try. Where's my udon?! Where's my ramen?!

The local sushi place I go to infrequently has ramen. Only three types but it's traditional. I only go there infrequently because they're really pricey. Three people would run at least $120. You get what you pay for though.

Worth the price enough to go occasionally. They have a "dynamite sauce" which I probably would make sushi at home everyday if I knew how to make it. It's really bad for you I imagine but it's some combination of a little chili sauce, I think homemade mayo, I think rice wine, vinegar, definitely fresh fish roe, and some kind of oil or fat. My favorite dish is that sauce drenching shredded crab topping perfectly cooked scallops. It's $14 bucks for five scallops but I could eat that everyday and die of a heart attack at 50.

I just made this and it's great.
For anyone wanting a bit more of a recipe:
Peel onions and stand up into the baking vessel you're going to use. The vessel should be about onion-height, and fill it up until no more onion can stand in it.
Cut onions into eight pieces, add about one clove of garlic per two onions.
Fry the two on low-medium heat, in plenty of butter, until the onions are medium-brown and you feel no resistance when squishing them with your mouth, stirring every couple of minutes. Put onions/garlic into baking vessel.
Take consomme (or chicken/beeth stock) set a small amount aside and pour the rest into the baking vessel until the onions are juuuuust covered. Add a tablespoon of miso per cup of soup used into the set-aside soup and dissolve. I used Mugi Miso, if you want to use Shiro miso, it's probably better to keep the onion a shade lighter.
Pour miso-mix into baking vessel, stir.
Spread miso quite thinly on one side of baguette slices and cover the onion mix with them. Cover thickly with cheese (Gouda's good), put into oven at 200+ degrees Celsius until the cheese is nicely browned (took more like half an hour for me), then serve with a green salad and some nice Marsala (my mugi miso is nicely fruity and Marsala complements the cheese well too).

Oven-fried Rice Napolitan
Ingredients:
>2 bell pepper, thinly sliced
>1 large onion, thinly sliced
>250g sausage, sliced relatively thinly
>Salt, pepper
>2 tablespoons butter
>2 cups rice
>3 cups beef stock, boiling hot
>A couple tablespoons of oil
>Tabasco
>Acidic ketchup (like Heinz)
Instructions:
>Preheat oven to 200C
>Throw everything up to and including the rice into a casserole
>Add the boiling hot(!) stock
>Cover (if there's no lid, use foil)
>Put in oven for 40-45 minutes
>Take out, let it rest for 10 minutes, preheat oven to 250C
>Only now remove the lid, add oil, stir thoroughly
>Put in oven again for 10 minutes, without lid
>Take out, add Tabasco and ketchup to taste, stirring well to spread it around (I recommend a rice that just about goes into the red instead of the lighter pink)
Easy, cheap, delicious, and filling. Perfect student meal.
