Give it time, anime will soon suffer the same fate as vidya. Just as there hasn't been a single good video game released since 2007, there will come a time in the mid-2020s when good anime stops being produced and literally everything becomes a steaming pile of shit.
The kicker is that there is literally nothing you can do to stop this. Just let nature take its course. Anime is doomed.
>>109158
Hey, at least some /v/ anons had the good sense to finally surrender their medium to their kike overlords after E3 2018. Fallout 76 still made millions despite the disastrous reception and TLOU2 will inevitably sell billions because Generation Z is the most materialistic, leftie cucked, nigger loving generation in human history and their heads would explode if ever faced with a non-Marxist worldview.

>when good anime stops being produced and literally everything becomes a steaming pile of shit.
We've already reached that point in my opinion. The last anime which I thought was genuinely creative was Flip Flappers and that was from 2016. It seems like right now, everything is just a parody of a parody or a reboot of some sort, just like in the western movie industry.
I think the "2007 was when everything went to shit" rule holds up to anime as well, 2007 was the last truly good year for the medium and after that it went downhill completely.

We have enough hyperbole about MUH OLD ANIMU IS GUD NEW ANIMU BAD in this thread, you only think all new anime is shit because you overindulge on everything coming out. You only think "old anime is good" is because you watched only shit that was trickled out to you. See >>106360

Sage negated. You can't even name five decent anime that has come out in the past several years. Anime, just like all other media, will never produce anything good ever again.

Playing Yakuza 0 and Hollow Knight right now. They're pretty good.
Literally just stop paying attention to what the mainstream drops in your lap, and seek out the kinds of things you like. Same thing with anime.

I have to agree. Just find what you like in vast mediums and stick to that. If you don't like the majority of a medium you probably don't like that medium and should stop talking and thinking about it like that one girl in high school you had a crush on but bullied you and that's why you have a femdom fetish involving cock and ball torture like some people in this thread. Why couldn't Karen just love me for who I am?

Spoiler:
Love it when the romance ending isn't just "oh yeah btw those 2 get togheter" and is instead an actual relevant part of the story.

Sasuga /animu/, in the meantime I watched the last 2 Patlabor films 2 and 3. I really liked 2, very reminiscent of GitS same studio. And while 3 was made after 2000 I thought it was noteworthy as kind of an end to the franchise. SV2 got very little screentime and was more or less interchangeable as a part of the story, subject matter much different from mecha takes the priority story wise. I think it did the show justice though, because it's a bookmark to the image of the future of the original series.

I had been watching Yawara for a while. It's pretty good, it got some very strong 80s aesthetics, it's like it was made for those people who make Vaporwave amvs. The art is top-notch, it's got a HD release (though not the entire show has been put on Nyaa yet) and Yawara herself is pretty cute. It's kind of like a cute girls doing judo type of show except there's only one girl.

It's not so bad it's good, it's so terrible it's great. This right here is edgelord ambrosia.
I could list you the many feats of edgyness this thing achieves, but if I list them you're going to be spoiled on what you'd watch this for.
It's only 6 episodes and if you're on the brink of finding it watchable on the first, it gets better as it goes on, so wait for it.

El Hazard's ending was suprisingly emotional, I'm glad I didn't drop it after all.
By the way, do you guys think that the Phantom tribe were supposed to represent the Jews? They infiltrated the kingdom, tried to get two nations to fight a war against each other, can shapeshift to look like other tribes and desire to destroy El Hazard because they can no longer live in their home world.

I'm enjoying this a lot, I'm getting very strong Berserk vibes from it as well, I wonder which one influenced the other, seeing as Bastard's manga started earlier than Berserk's.
Can anyone recommend some other good violent, entertaining OVAs like this by the way? I've already seen M.D. Geist.

One of those anime where the visuals/animation are god-tier but it's wasted on a poorly done story which explains why most people haven't heard of it. It had that realistic and fluid look that other films in the late 90s and early 2000s like Jin-Roh and Vampire Hunter D had but there's just no way that you can care about a story or characters like that. Just wasted potential.

80's and 90's anime were a lot like western action flicks in their stories. Kinda formulaic and forgettable stories, but with good visuals and action.

>TFW i decided to rewatch old anime and some i never watched before or i had thought i was too cool for back in the day.
>Watch Ruroni Kenshin and notice how well written it is, and how much effort was put in the animation, loved the Japanese VA
>Instantly fall in love with it and realize why it was top 5 in Japan when it was running as a Shonen manga.
<Move onto Saint Seiya
<Do not realize that Saint Seiya was well known in Latin America, East Europe, Southern Europe and was hardly known in America in the 1980's
>Start watching and noticing how huge of an influence it was for Shonen that came after with clothes being the power walls and it being logical in terms of fighting and plot.
>12 Temples ends up being amazing
<Posieden Arc completely bombs but not before i do research and realize the animators rushed to complete it to get ready for Dragon Ball Z and omitted key information from the Manga that is already translated.
>Watch Hades arcs on OVA and various other spinoffs Soul Of gold ends up being great as well.
<Watch Gunbuster
>Love the 4 OVA's and realize this was the OVA Hideki Anno would do before Evangelion and has a lot of similarities it almost feels like a prototype of it in some ways.
>Backgrounds are neat, the plot is actually well done and even moved me to tears somewhat, and had a reletable protagonist.
<Rewatch Tenchi Muyo series
>Remember how Harems were not so sudden and how there was an overarching plot about coming into manhood and basically having to be strong instead of having everything given to you and the females were not one dimensional.
So far that is my journey through old anime and i am just watching City Hunter now. Its remarkable how in America we are finally getting the things Euro's and Latin Americans had for awhile but could not afford until recently. I notice a lot of the 1980's stuff was not great in SFX at times but it did have certain heart and knew where to put key animation scenes into. Hopefully some Americans feel the same way and give these anime a shot.

Not to get too political, but part of the reason why shows that did very well in other countries took forever to get to the US was because (((certain people))) wanted to maintain their deathgrip on American entertainment. Look at the ongoing shitheap that is Harmony Gold.

It was okay, but still too futurustic/sci-fi even if not in a retarded anthro-mecha way. I would not get so anal over realism but I would prefer if they glorified already existing beautiful planes instead of introducing OC donut steel invincible superplanes. Only Area88 attempted to do so but unfortunately the original manga's planes were already archaic in the (mediocre) remake.
An Ace Combat anime with less cheese in the script would do the trick.

Señorita Grandis is canonically an used goods whore and she already has 2 beta orbiters.
But there is one most important matter.
They keep teasing me. I want to see her tits, with actual nipples, not the pictured nonsense.
And by her I mean Marie obviously, I don't care about that retarded vegan/unrealistically pacifist Indian nigger. I have never engaged in discussion about this series, but I seriously hope the pajeet is as universally hated as she deserves to be.
