>retarded yanks don't get this
The comfiest show of the season leads the fight against faggot MCs and westernized uggos. On the surface, it's just best friends having fun. But on the spiritual level, it's closer to clubbing your goddamn screeching lolis like baby seals.

if it were at 2x or maybe 4x speed it'd be watchable but its painfully slow and the comedy doesn't translate well to video.

Looks like its part of the pop team epic universe. At least it seems to be doing something drastically different for the second half unlike pop team epic which was mostly the same thing but with different VOs. There were some changes but not that drastic for pop team epics 2nd half.

I can't believe either they're making a straight up adaptation of Plato's Republic. I believe the realization that the world is phenomenon broadcasted by a higher order of reality will trigger a great awakening.

It happens for the same reason The Simpsons has 'obscure' DYNs-- the writers aren't kids who just finished high-school who walked in off the street while eating a burger.

Back in the days when they used morse keys to discuss the first few seasons of The Simpsons, DYN was short for "Didya Notice", for pointing out things like Literature and Movie references.

When scholars look back and try to pinpoint the exact moment that anime overtook literature as the dominant medium for our cultures intellectuals it will be this specific moment. Good-bye James Joyce.

The second episode sort of hinted at some kind of deeper plot, is it a ruse? If they keep on the way they have been I'm gonna get real board. I can excuse the ramen cooking time fillers if the rest is interesting, but a lot of it really isn't.

Yes, the manga goes nowhere. I'm not sayting that as a bad thing though. Some anime/manga don't need an overarching plot to be good.

Holy fuck, you're right. The claymation parts are so advanced, that they are often mistaken for CG: this marks the moment in history where anime trascends into hyper-reality, a place where 2D meets 3D.
The dino (3D, the old world, dinosaur media) meets the gyaru (2D, modernity, social media) and the result is something similar to Nirvana. It's still too soon to speculate about the time travel storyline, but I think the director is using the 4th dimension because it's literally the only way to compare these high concepts.

No, the Mieharu saga is anime only and it's definitely on a wild ride. The makers hid their intentions well, when they pretended to simply adapt a gag manga.

At the beginning of episode 3 I thought gyaru paying for dino's meal despite being strapped was just to send the message of her caring for dino. But then when she went to her sempai's house I understood that the first half of this episode was about class struggles, a clear reflection on the social implications of class through a marxist lense.
The implications of the diverging liveaction/2d plots are only beginning to come into focus.

Stopped reading right there. Here's what actually happened.
1. Shouta (=author) was friends with the old man (=the industry) for a long time, as seen in The Shining reference.
2. When he was led to believe that the dinosaur (=classic anime) had caused him to die (=industry collapse), he severed all connections between them.
3. However, it was revealed that it was actually the landlady (=publishers) who was poisoning the old man. And she is played by the Evangelion singer, signifying iconoclast directors like Hideaki Anno shitting on tradition.
4. Now the gyaru (=funimation) is the new owner of the dinosaur (=americanization of anime), but his innocence is actually winning her over.
While Pop Team was about bombing Kodansha to the ground, Galkyo is about making anime great again by going back to its roots.
