I don't think so lad, even though i am very happy with how the author is taking the story to, it's clear that it wasn't always supposed to be this way. While the signs are pretty subtle, i do honestly think that again, the author have managed to shift the genre in a pretty amazing way, leaving not a lot of warts to talk about. Here are some examples that imo, showed that it's not always planned this way:
>Toshiro suddenly abandoning the party, despite being shown as him being smitten by Farlyn. Handwaved by 'because he doesn't know about what happened to them'
>General atmosphere that is heavily reminiscent of other fantasy mangas (ex. using GOLD as the currency, party equipment treated as RPG gears, etc)
>The Noob party whom Laius ran into have an elf in it, despite elves in this world are treated as highly / disdain as LOTR's elves. Pretty weird to have an elf in dangerous dungeon crawling jobs while also being very noobish.
>Laius' party are treated as strangers in the underground bar in Chapter 8, despite them being showed as an experienced group and being famous in the dungeon crawling circle (read the chapter 15)
>Orc designs at the start are 'orcish' compared to the recent orcs where they have more swine-like appearances
That's all that i could think of, and i really have to think pretty hard to find all the valid contradicting stuff. It's not really plot breaking and may sound a little nitpicky but that's not a bad thing since it showed the growth of the author in writing the mango. We also have to remember that the current day art is much more better since the author have assistants to help her doing everything.

Assistants usually only do minor tasks, like filling out a few background details or doing some inking. They just assist. They don't have input on the art or the story.

Nah, i'm okay with this WRPG-esque story. For me, the cooking gimmick gets phased out pretty well (as in, not abruptly) and the author also foreshadowed the main antagonist early on. It might seem jarring for newer readers if they haven't read all the way through. I mean, i get the people who may not like it when the story took a more serious turn and wants a pure cooking fantasy manga, but the main focus was never really on cooking anyway, rather the main focus were on characters and setting. The cooking part is just a nice vehicle or gimmick to get the story going.

I didn't really feel the cooking this chapter, other reveals were fun and Kensuke actually doing something since the fucking red dragon fight was nice, but the cooking in general felt a lot more underwhelming. I mean, it might be the fact that it's basic chicken on a pan with some mushrooms thrown in.The bits of walking away to actually cook it were nice, but it's not the funnest bit.
I suppose it's mostly building up for the end that's probably coming soon.
