The tournament to determine who will challenge SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bludgeon Brothers at SummerSlam concludes tonight, as The New Day clash with The Bar in the finals.
Big E & Xavier Woods defeated SAnitY to earn their place in the final match, while Sheamus & Cesaro emerged victorious from a hard-hitting throwdown with The Usos to move one step closer to earning a title opportunity at The Biggest Event of The Summer.
There’s no love lost between these two teams. In fact, it was The Bar who brought The New Day’s record-BREAKing 484-day reign as WWE Tag Team Champions to an end in 2016. Will The Celtic Warrior and The Swiss Cyborg once again be victorious, or will The New Day earn the right to challenge for their fifth tag team championship at SummerSlam?

That match, Vega's first since joining Team Blue earlier this year, saw Andrade "Cien" Almas' business associate emerge victorious after Aiden English prevented Almas from interfering, distracting The Ravishing Russian and allowing Vega to roll her up for the three count.
English apologized profusely after the match, but the fractures in the Rusev Day crew continued to show, as Lana told The Bulgarian Brute she needed him at ringside.

Gulak soon entered the fray, and the three targeted the champion before WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick intervened.

It was that maneuver that allowed Drew Gulak the opportunity to take down Itami and apply the Gulock to Ali for the victory.
As revealed on Twitter, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick announced that Ali and Itami would meet in singles competition as both competitors set out to prove they are still primed for another WWE Cruiserweight Championship opportunity.

I was actually there yesterday and that Askua & Naomi vs Mandy Rose and whomever was the starting before air match. That match was fantastic and I saw [spoiler] The Bludgeon Brothers win (again),
[/spoiler]The New Gay wins lol, Shinsuke Nakamura wins (again), Zelina Vega wins lol, however Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch won. It is more exciting to see this as an actual event due to NO COMMENTARY at all and people being crazy in general. If you are above the "camera section", then you probably won't be on TV.Also, 205 Live is part of Smackdown since it is an hour long and it feels very weird to move the main event last and rushed, although AJ Styles & Jeff Hardy won.
