What's so good about it, OP? This is a slow board, so you can't make a thread waiting the answers just to then say something.

What makes it better than The Secret of Monkey Island, or the old Infocom text adventures?

Zork 1, probably. That was like their very first game and it's not too hard. Seastalker is a bit easier though, that's another good option. Don't forget to grab the manual and other goodies. Tons more infos here:

Oh shit, nice, someone else who knows that this game exists.
I played it sorta recently and it's a pretty neat point-and-click. I had to use a walkthrough for that puzzle near the end, though–you know the one. It was a huge difficulty spike in what is otherwise a pretty manageable game.

I love this game. It's one of my favorite. The humor and the voice acting is great, music better than the Titanic game that came out later. And that cheap bastard Rivera he even shows up in the Titanic. The only complaint I have about this game is the final puzzle. Seriously, fuck that puzzle.

This tbh.
DUST is one of the best adventure games ever made, as far as the characters go, but the ending is shit.
