I need help to choose a retro snes or nes game to play. Something with a rich story as well as long play-ability. Extra points for multiplayer. Something that isn't super rare (under 15$) and it can be for any retro system.

Just get SNES9X emulator and go to emuparadise and download some roms then you don't have to buy anything.

If you are from america and if you liked earthbound I suggest you to try terranigma. It was never released in the US

Not sure if this counts, but it's fairly long with fun multiplayer. Flicky is also a good game if you like platformers

Was the NES the best port?

I think Castlevania NES was pretty cheap, fun and addictive, but that might be a strong bias, sorry.

Unfortunately, vintage copies of Chrono Trigger have been going for yuge sums of money for a while now.
