What about that adventure game based on the classic series? It seems to me to be highly praised.
I particularly hate adventures, but I think it's a good way of adapting Star Trek, at least the classic series, to video games.

I remember playing a demo for some star trek thing in the early 00's, third person action game with several characters. One mission was an infiltration in a winter setting using gadgets, another was a melee brawl as a klingon. Felt like the coolest thing at the time, but I haven't heard a thing about that game since.

this strategy was more in depth than most stuf i played back then
game so good they made hutet dreadnought from it, canon

I used to play the fuck out of Star Trek New Worlds as a kid too. It's no Empire At War but it's probably the best /trek/ RTS game.
