Go to the elevator on the first floor of the castle (not the one that goes to the top floor), select ?????. Go down the stairs and talk to the closed door. Go to the shopkeeper to the left of the "field" glowy door, and use the new talk option. Find the secret path among the dancers, it's seriously not hard. Go to the smith (bake sale area) to fix the key. Go back to the ????? room. Hypnotize him a lot.
The problem I have is that this actually does seem to change nothing at all. The relevant new item the tail seems to do nothing at all. What the fuck am I missing? What do I have to do NOW? Is there any course of action that leads to Ralsei coming with me? (The way that Kris and Susie walk up to the fountain makes it seem like he ought to be there.) Is there anything else to do involving Seam? I talked to him with the new options but all I got was some interesting dialogue.
I lost ONCE against Jevil and am cursing myself for being weak - /utg/ is so fucking helpless that some of them can't beat him at all. He's not that fucking hard if you have any sense of these things.
For that matter, how do I get reindeer girl into her home? How do I get into the bunker south of town? Is all of this just not in the game yet?
Final thoughts - this is a dream. This game is literally made of dreams. I've had enough hardcore, in-depth dreams to know that Toby literally made this game out of dream concepts and dream logic, even moreso than in the original.

(Although I figured it all out before reading so sorry)
I too could find no use for the tail
As for the reindeer girl and the bunker I think that's stuff for a future episode
My personal theory is that it's not an AU, It's just deliberately muddying the waters. Alphys and Undyne probably just broke up or something

In retrospect, I'm not much of a fan of where this is going, and I don't think a lot of other people are going to be, either. I have never killed a monster even once in either the original game or this one- it's still beneath me, even after three years- and I'm nowhere near alone. Toby had this kid rip out his soul and pull a knife. If he forces geno in Chapter 2, he's going to get blowback the likes of which he's never seen. He's brought out Alice in Wonderland shit? The Tumblrites and the chans will be united in calling for his fucking head on a plate Red Queen style.
Also, we don't yet know who's being abused at home. Susie's behavior is in line with that of neglected children, and Kris's lack of personal property is seriously disturbing - check his and Delta!Azzy's bedroom. It really doesn't seem like it from her behavior and lines, but if it turns out that Delta!Toriel is in fact neglecting him somehow, there's going to be even more serious rage, including extremely angry fics and recipes for roast dog.
Again, this is all a dreamworld, but it's getting to be nightmarish as fuck, and not in the "let's overcome it through either the power of friendship or serious, realistic work" sense.

Okay, now with that out of the way, it's time to actually address the real problem with this - Toby is trying to hire people.
I don't want to say that he has no idea what the fuck he's getting into, but I'm not sure if he really has any idea what the fuck he's getting into. Undertale is too big, too well-known. He's going to get a lot of bullshit applications from trolls, a lot of applications from well-meaning dipshits who don't actually have the skill or experience to produce anything of worth, a lot of shit from otherwise well-meaning people who ultimately want to fuck with his story, a lot of shit from even more well-meaning people with real credentials who expect a more structured development environment, and if he's really unlucky, he'll get someone who earns enough of his trust to see the full story and promptly leaks the whole fucking thing.
Unless Toby is prepared to go full Chris Roberts, my-way-or-the-highway, deadlines-uber-alles taskmaster, partitioning tasks among people with absolute confidence, I think he's probably going to get fucked in one way or another.
I simply don't think he has the fucking ego he needs to pull this off. Godspeed, Toby.

No.4869
Oh, fuck me. I just realized something. Tell me if any of this is wrong, /underground/.
First things first - let's take monsterdom and all the silly shit out of the Lightside parts. Let's recast Toriel and Asgore as ordinary human adults. They're not monsters anymore, they're just people, this is just an ordinary small town. Their names and identities have none of the meaning they have for us. Susie's not a monster either.
So, who is Kris? A kid with an overachieving older brother and nothing of his own, not even friends. Who is Susie? A neglected child with nothing to eat and shit to wear.
And what do the two of them do together? Enter a shared world of imagination.
Ralsei doesn't really exist. She (I'm going with 'she' here) really is the plushie you see on the floor. If you make some very bad choices relating to the dummy (saw this on a video), she'll even tell you that if you want to attack her, that's okay, too. She's part of Kris's imagination, a permanent friend who will serve him no matter what and believes that all of the imaginative world (the Dark World) should serve its (human) owners too.
Who's Lancer, then? Susie's inner child, lashing out and choosing to be the bad guy because so is her father (personified as the King). It's only after she confronts him directly that she can really be Kris's friend. How does the Dark World part end? With one of two childish fantasies - either the child sends the adult to his room or puts him to bed.
If Susie and Kris lash out at each other in their play (there is nobody else there), all they remember is the freakouts. If they don't freak out at each other, they get to part peacefully.
And then there's Jevil, who says "Chaos, chaos!" and "I can do ANYTHING!" He's speaking literally - within that imaginative world, he can do anything once he's released. He's the personification of unbridled insanity.
Tell me how any of this isn't a shared fantasy of two children bonding over severe trauma and neglect?

The truth is that I don't know. It hit me as a possibility (although a lot of shit in the game needs to be turned into metaphors to accept it) and I threw it out there just to see what logical arguments could come out against (and for) it. Not really bait, just discussion mongering.
After putting the idea through the wringer, I'm actually coming down on the side of "imagination-born subworld" - it exists in the sense that they were actually there, but the things manifested there were strongly affected by the thoughts, hopes, and dreams of its visitors and the objects in their surrounding environment. Ralsei really is manifested from Kris's headband and love of his big brother Azzy, and Lancer and King really were formed from Susie's inner child and thoughts of her abusive father. Not a strict Moonside-style shared hallucination scenario, not just imaginative play.

There are some serious signs that Susie grew up with abuse and/or neglect.
<Hungry all the time
<Has learned to bully anyone smaller than her
<Prone to violently acting out (not a Chara-style cold psychopath, though)
Also, here are the signs of child neglect as listed by a professional advocacy center:
>Is frequently late or missing from school.
>Untreated illnesses and physical injuries.
>Clothes are ill-fitting, filthy, or inappropriate for weather, and caregiver has access to resources to remedy the situation but chooses not to utilize resources.
>Hygiene is consistently bad (unbathed, matted and unwashed hair, noticeable body odor).
>Is frequently unsupervised or left alone or allowed to play in unsafe situations and environments.
Three, possibly four out of five, plus some extra stuff that basically screams "grew up in a violent household". That kid is fucked.
