I keep trying to send the love out it seems to be working

Guys - a theme that stuck with me after watching the movie. We haven’t discussed it yet. And I’m not sure I have the right words. But I’m gonna try - please bear with me.

The ones who served Dormammu. They did so because they had been promised immortality. The Ancient One turned out to have been drawing her power from the dark dimension (Dormammu and clan). This shocked Mordo, however Strange took it in stride. Accepted all as it was.

Then when he got hold of the emerald stone and the control of time, he used it to drive Dormammu nuts with the time loop, and the evil one relented, allowing the world to be saved.

It came out that the immortality thing was a lie - at least the type that was promised by the dark one to the followers with the cracked desert skin around their eyes (reptilian reference maybe?). But not totally a lie, since the ancient Celtic one used its power to live exactly as long as she wanted (which was like thousands of years).

What I make of this, in context with all that was discussed- is that the power is in fact available. But it must be respected and cannot be taken lightly. And it can very easily overthrow a One.

What if this is the root of all current happenings?

What if we fight against the dark dimension with all its lies and masquerading as the light?

What if those evil ones we have mentioned are chasing the (false) immortality promise and that is their motivation for action?

What if the good ones are actually harnessing the same force to work against the dark forces? I recall several scenes where Strange uses the K guy (sorry can’t spell his name lol), uses his ego against him. K gets too cocky and makes a move and bam. S and the levitation cloak foils him.

So yes. What if this is the parallel that we are to draw from the movie?

It goes back to the biblical theme. War between good and evil, God and Satan, Jesus and Lucifer. Ra and Anubis. Polar opposites locked in combat for eons.

What if now is the time where God wins, Jesus wins, Ra wins?

What if this year is really and truly the final battle that’s been played out in soooo many movies and stories.

What if this year the truth finally triumphs?

The immortality thing.

Right you are sir - that was a thought I didn't fully develop until this morning - I got the rest of it while in the shower (yay showerthoughts!).

Dormammu lied about immortality. The lie was that he would grant immortality to those who fought on the dark side. Not that immortality doesn't exist, but a corrupted and fraudulent form of it was being offered. One that would turn out to be disappointing and awful, if accepted.

Time. It's a gift but can also be a curse. Like so many other things. Weapon or tool. Depends on the free will of those who receive it or wield it.

When you have inner peace and the light within, time is the most wonderful gift. When you are overwhelmed with darkness, time is a horrible curse.

Everyone here seems overwhelmed with positivity and optimism.

As am I, yet I know that assuming victory is guaranteed is a great way to guarantee defeat.. hubris and all,

but is my "realism" holding us back? Only I seem to be aware that thing can and have gone horribly wrong. While I have no doubt IN THE END the light will be victorious, our indivudual lifetimes are but tiny blips in space/time and again, to assume that the ultimate victory WILL be had in OUR lifetimes is a bit much for me to believe whole heartedly, to the extent that I drop my guard.. but my question is,

I would like to pass along a seed of knowledge for all that choose to consider it.

Attached you will find images depicting the Seed of Life blossoming into the Flower of Life reproducing into a field of Flowers.

At first there is just one.

Upon finding another the seed is pollenated.

Over time the seed grows and blossoms into a flower.

Eventually the cycle starts over, and more flowers bloom.

The same pattern exists with knowledge.

One being discovers knowledge.

This being shares the knowledge with another.

Two beings now share knowledge with others.

The cycle continues and knowledge is spread far and wide.

This is not profound by any stretch of the imagination, but what you may have missed is that there is no way to draw a Flower of Life without the circles overlapping. Just as there is no way to share knowledge without interaction. Knowledge, and thus wisdom, only grows by interacting with others.

Coincidently, this is the basis of memetic ideas. It is why memes are such an effective means of sowing seeds of knowledge.

Ah WongAnon. Thanks for your response. I feel like it’s time to put more of my thoughts out in this space. Because it’s so much deeper than what I said about the den of vipers. I see that on the surface it seems I’m just a disgruntled former sda. Imma gonna explain that one fully now. So…brace yourself :)

Fair enough. Yes, SDAs were anti catholic, I’m fairly well versed in their teachings and you are so right. If the Catholic Church can’t stamp you out, they buy your soul.

I can see that you have respect for the founders of the SDA church. Reading into the origins, you are right. They were brave souls trying to bring light to a world wrapped in darkness.

I had a different experience with the SDAs. It’s tainted my whole life with shame, guilt and rage, and I am only recently finding healing (for which I’m ever grateful). Now I am starting to understand my lessons, finally. I see that those experiences were for me. To help me forge my soul and defend my mind. That early training is helping me now, to be sure.

I knew at a young age that they meant to have my soul. I knew this because I had overheard my parents discussing strategies for ‘breaking her spirit’. From then on it was a war. Child me against the SDAs. I was determined they would not succeed in breaking me. I was beaten senseless for offenses such as refusing to thank my mother for ‘correction’ and refusing to do daily devotions. One time the instrument used was a large bible. I was saved by the local child protection service, otherwise I don’t know if I would have been able to retain my soul. My parents were actually sent to prison for a short time because of me. I was racked by guilt & shame and yet, still driven to defend my soul. As the tactics changed, there were no more physical assaults, however the mental/psychic ones continued with vigor. I handled it by soundly rejecting it all. I took from the egw books only the messages of strength, courage and resistance against opposition, and ran with them. I got the ‘you had so much potential’ speech many a time. What I heard was ‘too bad we couldn’t enslave you’. LOL. And I was proud. Because I was determined to never ever bow down. And so I forced myself to sleep, with respect to any ‘truths’ or ‘religions’ or ‘systems of belief’, deciding it was all a horrible trap. I even sought the darkness and the so called ‘occult’, but I was much too mentally scattered to have any experiences there, so I concluded I was a brick and gave over to superficial things as an unbeliever.

Fast forward to now, my parents are gone - I did give and receive forgiveness, my mother in spirit and my father in life. He gave me a massive gift - he said “I am so very sorry for the great wrong we did you”. Those words went further than I’d expected in healing my heart.

Of course, I couldn’t remain asleep in my haze, stuff kept breaking through and bothering me. So I went to therapy, read all kinds of self help books, and connected with a few awesome people - which ended up leading me to many insights. At some point I realized I was remembering how to love again (I had spent many years convinced I was incapable of love).

As I continued along on my spiritual journey, I encountered cognitive dissonance. Why was I so driven to fight against my enslavers? Why did they act as they did? Who was in the wrong? Was it them or was it me?

I always knew there was more than what I was taught, more to know and especially a whole world of knowledge that was hidden from me. Worldly things, doncha know. Ha. I’m still working through some of that now, although so many things are becoming clearer every day. My quest has gone beyond the Bible or any religion - I am fully devoted to finding out all of the hidden truths. I’ve found though, that the Bible is a great foundation and contains hints about literally all of the metaphysical things I’ve been learning. My early training and memorizations have proved valuable - imagine that!

So do I still have some of that sda spirit? Well I suppose so. Once I stopped being blinded by rage, I do see where they held many truths. And I am grateful for the foundation that was forged for me. Without those experiences I may not have developed the strength of mind and character to fulfil my purpose now.

Well, I had not planned to tell that lengthy story on this board, but i think it’s relevant to what we are doing here and why. It showcases the duality in everything, I think. And reminds me that no one can be ‘true neutral’, that is only the dominion of the ONE.

My daily prayer is that I may see things as they truly are, that I am worthy of the wisdom that is given me and that I can love and forgive all including myself.

I will never stop defending my soul and the souls of my fellow humans. I consider myself a warrior, in a sense. A warrior for truth. That’s why I’m here.

That couldn't have been easy.. for what its worth I am truly appalled and apologize on behalf on the SDA church. I am glad you have found it in your heart to forgive. As a wise man once said, "holding resentment in your heart is like drinking poison, hoping the other person dies". Being able to forgive and let go is as much for ourselves as it is for the other party, no?

Still though, reading between the lines, I am thoroughly inspired by your rebellious spirit (which is more or less what I meant by "SDA spirit", having no clue of your personal history.. again I apologize), your 'unconquerable soul' as it were.

We certainly had very different experiences with the SDA church growing up, I must have done something right in previous lives because.. well I have been “lucky”, if you will, that this is more and more apparent to me every day I live.

For I also have in me that rebellious streak that resides in you, hell we all probably do.

That primordial instinct that urges us to reject attacks on our free will, and nudges are attention toward a greater truth.

I say I am lucky because my parents, in their wisdom, allowed me to drift and explore while acting as a lighthouse of safe harbor when my hubris ultimately brought trouble to my life, and I have come to find that this approach.. cannot be assumed to be the norm. Another way I was lucky are that the religious teachers around me in the church growing up did not shy away from teaching me about or encouraging me to seek answers from.. shall we say “non canonical” sources.. perhaps this is where I came up with this idea that being an SDA means not being afraid to challenge conventions.

In any case,

..but in the end we both ended up at the same place, at least at this moment in time, and here we are now musing about it.

Forgiveness and understanding is what made it possible for me to tell that story. The fact I can now tell it to others on the interwebz is proof positive of my healing. Without forgiveness, without love, oh it feels weird to type, without God - there would have been only darkness for me.

I should add that I also was able to ask forgiveness of my father while he was alive, for the pain I caused. And he forgave me freely. Lucky lucky me :)

This is only one of the ways in which I consider myself lucky - why I take that moniker on the web. I think that 'luck' is a form of divine intervention, but it only works in concert with one's mental attitude. I feel lucky beyond what I deserve - because I know I've been saved from terrible fates many times. I know I had divine support in my efforts to defend my soul as well as my body. No, I haven't won lotteries or anything like that, but I have done much better than expected, considering my beginnings. I am very grateful.

I listened to this radiolab once that was awesome! Usually I find it to be mostly just talking mouth pieces pushing around nonsense knowledge …but one can find wisdom in many sources!

Anyways, it is about this town in northern Australia where instead of saying "how are you doing? People ask "where are you going? (which is funny cuz the rest of Australia has merged the two and asks how ya going, mate?)

People in this town literally answer each other with their COORDINATES of where they are going relative to where they are on the(spherical) PLANET.

They do this by getting a birds eye view in their minds eye. I mean this is a common ass thing there (and my belief is a "left over" of the VERY tuned in aboriginal culture) and by all other accounts I can bet we would consider those folks in that town to be "normies".

The point is that the woman who went there (the interviewiee) and was confused by it at first but stayed there long enough to GAIN THAT SKILL!!

Like immersion in another country can grant you the knowledge of the language (or watching a video enough times and gathering context from the visual to the words, Mordo! ;), these "psychic" skills can be learned, just like a language.
