Matchup is a thing, but I can use pokemon that are, "unviable" and get wins all the time. When you play the matchup correctly, you can pull through.
But not when you miss your fucking toxic (90% accuracy) or you get crit (6.25%) or they freeze you (10%). A whole bunch of bullshit can happen to ruin your win, just because RNG said so
There have been times where people get crit like 3 times in a row and then froze crit. It happens way too much

They are like little adventures where you start at the first reference and then are given options of what to do. Ie. they're like choose your own adventure things, I think.

/b/ has been a long time ago. Well the gamebooks are brutal for sure. I will admit that sometimes there is a bit of metagaming necessary. Like, not cheating, but rather stepping away and thinking about the designer's motivation. There's a moment in the first game where you are offered the option of stopping at a meadow to eat. If you turn to the page, it tells you that you hear some birds get startled and fly away and are given the option to reconsider and move along on your way. So you can kinda think that, okay, if something kinda-bad-but-not-horrible was about to happen, they wouldn't give you the option to reconsider the kind of mundane decision that you just made; so deciding to stay must be a terrible option (and it is).
But yeah there are plenty of instakills, often around the end of the books.

Work is pulling a major, major dick move on me
I have been scheduled as a night guy for the entire time I have been there. Only been scheduled for a day shift once the entire time I have worked there
Now, they expect me to flip to a day schedule within 2 days flat. They scheduled me for day all week and one open.
I dont go to sleep until about 5:00AM. I dont understand how I will possibly adjust to this shit. Its not the work, its just the sudden change in a circadian rhythm that will make this week absolutely shit

Nah, it ain't so bad, it's just tedious but the physical labor part is good for me. Even if I can't sleep I can usually manage to get everything done.
