Bats are okay. I prefer doing plants or bees but the bat work is easier to get into and is usually the starting point for a carreer in ecology.

Get to post at suspected bat sleeping spots with a bat detector. Because bats are a protected species in the EU so when construction or renovation is happening you need to know if there are bats. There's also a lot of cities working on species management plans so have to know where all the bats in the city live and which species.
