>Yeah in the Thrawn novels Mara isn't really some super-dark-Jedi, though she is a massive bitch and a cliche stereotype.
She starts out as one, yeah. But that's intentional; she has an arc throughout the series as her character grows. For that to happen her character has to be somewhat deficient initially.

What about Windu and the Form VII he used? That's not quite dark side, but it is channeling your inner darkness and rage in combat.

There's your answer, anon. Vaapad is also about channeling your inner aggression, not outright going dark side with hate and glee at your opponent's suffering.

Kind of but later EU novels pretty much regressed her character so she was back to being the bitchy hot girl again so it didn't really last.

Disappointed to hear that. The only books I'd read with her in them were Thrawn and the Caedus books where she gets Jacen'd, I was looking forward to reading more.

It still pisses me off how they tried to force Revan/The Exile into these stupid "canon" molds just so they could include them in TOR. It was also weird as fuck that they kept ship-teasing the hell out of Revan and Meetra and then just backed off on it at the last second with "they just REALLY respected each other" when pretty much every second line of dialogue implied that Meetra was in love with him.

I don't recall them doing that. KOTOR 2 just had the player as a high-ranking bro of Revans and even the bioware SWTOR novelisation just went with "they've got a ~special bond~ that's completely non-sexual so Bastilla isn't worried about getting cucked by some non-Bioware created skaknk". As far as I'm aware that's about all the actual characterisation that the Exile and Revan's relationship gets.
Still pissed off that they had her die like a bitch in the Revan novel just so that could have her be a cryptic force ghost that introduces Revan in SWTOR.

I think it was Drew K's way of getting back at Avellone for showing him and Bioware up in the writing department while moving focus back to their awesome MC instead of Obsidian's MC. How salty do you think they were over the praise Obsidian got after recommending them for the sequel?

I, Jedi refers to Luke as a Jedi Master before his first group of students (aside from the minor lessons given to Mara and Leia) is fully assembled. That could just be due to Horn's prospective instead of an official title though. He's definitely called one by Jedi Outcast.
I always thought the force ghosts officially gave him the title sometime between the Battle of Endor and them leaving him at the start of Heir to the Empire but he didn't consider himself worthy of it till a few years latter.

Luke refers to himself as a Master in the first book of the Jedi Academy Trilogy. I, Jedi takes place during the events of those books, so it checks out.
>During the previous year of violent strife, Luke had been whisked away to the resurrected Emperor’s stronghold in the galactic core, and there he had allowed himself to learn the dark side. He had become the Emperor’s chief lieutenant, just like his father, Darth Vader. The struggle had been great within him, and only with the help, and the friendship, and the love of Leia and Han had he been able to break free (…)
>Luke Skywalker had been through the fire now. Inside, his heart seemed a diamond-hard lump. He wasn’t merely another Jedi Knight - he was the only remaining Jedi Master. He had survived tests and rigors more potent than routine Jedi training prepared him for. Luke understood more about the Force now than he had ever dreamed possible. Sometimes it terrified him.
Looks like he became a Jedi Master during the events of Dark Empire.

TOR really heavily implied at parts that the Exile had a thing for Revan which makes me think they probably planned for something to happen in that regard but chickened out at the last second.

I still don't understand why Revan is touted as one of the top characters in SW when he's literally just the player with some generic Bioware shit thrown into his backstory. How the fuck did that happen?

It's specifically because he's the player that he's so popular. It makes him a self-insert, which makes him whatever the player wants him to be, this is why people got so mad about him being more fleshed out in TOR.
Also Revan is rife for self-insert Gary Stu/Mary Sue status which is why people LOVE bringing him up as their ideal "grey jedi" even though Revan turned out to be just a Jedi in the end.

That was the point.
because you are playing a video game when you are Revan. The "greatest" thing a narrative driven game can do is actually make you actually part of the story. Really Kotor 2 handled it the best. With any accounts of what happend during or after Kotor 1 largely based on what that player decided on, with the accounts and claims people made to be sketchy at best. They should have done that Mass Effect "made popular" and all you decisions form Kotor 1 where reflected and mentioned in Kotor 2, as appose to the player "correcting" anyone's claim, but they didn't think of it at the time I guess, or even know they would make one. The point is, its wasn't suppose to be I'm playing as Revan, but more I am Revan!. Which is hard enough to do in a self contain story, but making him static when your whole gameplay/story in a ROLE PLAYING GAME revolves around the player expressing what they would do with the limited options all tihngs considering, they should have just kept him a legend.

I'm aware that's the point, but that's why I don't understand using him as an argument for why Grey Jedi work and are a thing when they might as well be talking about their own fanfiction for how relevant it is (more so given KotOR doesn't accurately convey the pull of the dark side in it's mechanics). I agree, Revan and the Exile should be blank slates as far as history is concerned and shouldn't have ever been brought up in later content (unless vaguely) because it would ruin that, but fanboys gotta fanboy and cry for representations of their autistic self-insert, and Bioware knows having Revan in their game makes more people want to play. Autism and money are powerful forces in our world.

That's a good part of it, but I think it's also because KoTOR 2 had the whole 'Revan wasn't actually a Sith and he was preparing the galaxy for a future conflict with some unknown threat' thing added, along with all the characters being Revan fanboys who talked about him like he was the coolest motherfucker to ever exist.

Cosplaying especially for women isn't about "caring" to read anything, its only about promoting an online following and then get cuck bucks. Its highly unlikely women will dress as an EU character, not just because they will never find out about them now but also because there isn't any interest from the cucks into the EU characters.
Whereas muh Rey with nigger Fin is the imagery that is in their minds instead.
