Of course he survived, they can’t humiliate him and give more of his EU traits to Mando. The Mandalorian is literally just EU Boba. They did to him what they did with Rey in the sequels. Just took an old character people liked and just commandeered his attributes onto one of thier own creations.
That said, they’re 100% going to blueball us with this reveal. It’ll go nowhere until the last episode of the season.
