So, I was playing the headache-inducing adventure of Kingdom Hearts 3 (Disney didn't get my money for it, so no loss) when I noticed something particular in the Toy Story level (only reason I wanted to play this thing). There's a group of toys called Air Droids which are possessed by Heartless during the game which I normally wouldn't care much about aside from their interesting toy design, but what caught my eye was that in the end credits the Air Droid toys are listed as being owned by Lucasfilm and a Star Wars property.
So I have to wonder, these things clearly aren't from Disney's movies or their new line of shitty toys, and I certainly don't recall seeing droids like these in any EU games, media or the old films, so what are they from exactly? Are they from some piece of shitty new Disney media? Some obscure droid from the 1970s Marvel comics? Anyone know? I was going to ask this on /v/, but the KH threads over there are shit (so are the mods) and since this is the Star Wars board, I figured you guys would know something in your vast dorky wisdom.

What does the droid do in the game OP? It doesn’t look familiar to me but it could also be in one of the books or comics I haven’t read. It’s also possible that lucasfilm came up with the design either specifically for the game or for something else and Disney wanted to use it

In other words, they're toys in the Toy Story world that can be found in a toy store. At some point the Heartless (the shadow enemies in the game) possess the toys and make them go evil, making Air Droids enemies in the game. It fights with its fists and air-based attacks. It comes in several colors, but the default one has a color scheme that reminds me of the B1 Battle Droids from the prequels.

I don't recall ever seeing anything quite like it. Closest thing that comes to mind in terms of name are the Air Droids (B1-As) from the Revenge of the Sith video game, but they look nothing like the Toy Story one. They were just slightly modified B1s with jetpacks and a Super's frame.

Its a FF game for PSP, yeah. Squeenix often drops references or characters from FF into KH. However this game didn't have any aside from Cactuar cameros, moogles and a spaceship from a spinoff game as a boss.
Not like anyone should shed a tear over a lack of FF shit though. The FF franchise has been shit since they tried to push that XIII Novula Crystal Whatever Crisis crap, and then there was the shitstorm that was FF14 which would've killed the franchise and let everyone realize what a pathetic mess FF had become, but Squeenix went all out on their budget and called in a shit ton of people to fix that mess and relabel it as "Reborn". It was actually playable but fuck what a fucking shitfest that turned out to be community-wise. Screeching brats, rainbow fucks, trannies RPs, gay wedding pics and obsessive fangirls and sissies as far as the eye could see.
Honestly, that sort of shit shows that Square and Disney are the perfect match along with EA.

Droid is a Lucas trademark. There's a reason Google never uses the term officially for their phone OS. If you look at The Incredibles credits there's a similiar approval for the Omnidroid.
