Aside from the cringe, its unoriginal. Her early issues are nothing but Indiana Jones callbacks because that's all she is. Her creators wanted a Star Wars-version of Indiana Jones but made her female because they had too many male leads in the comics, right down to taking lines.

Her supporting characters, enemies and companions are just knockoffs or edgier recolors of pre-existing characters, like evil versions of Chewbacca, R2D2 and C-3PO. And the few that are original are complete shit with two of her companions being gay cyborgs with no flesh who do nothing but scream for each other all the time, and one of them is a fucking toilet.
Sales for that series have been dipping badly since it came out after a moderately decent release. To try and boost its popularity they tried putting her in the main comics to teach Luke a lesson and they brought a character from Rebels into her comic as a major character (the green twilek) but that went nowhere. The only reason her comic got a decent start was because of her stint in the Vader comic, with everything she did being irrelevant since the comic would've gone the same with or without her since she was just there to add some banter to Vader's usually silent scenes.
Newer issues also try to bring in characters who are ripoffs of HK-47 (as an IG droid) and Kreia (as a force ghost) but that also comes off as pointless and cheap grabs to stay relevant, all of which failed. Newest issue has her falling in love with a lesbian imperial but then that ends up becoming irrelevant after one of her ex-companions (one of the 2 gay cyborgs) comes back seeking revenge after she killed his husband. The guy is actually a droid bounty hunter yet he becomes possessed by the Force itself through magic space mushrooms to seek revenge against Aphra for her crimes, because the Force isn't Female, the Force is Gay. I've barely scraped the surface of this shit.

About 70% of the new Disney shit is absolutely irredeemable (the new films, Aftermath, Dr. Aphra, and Rebels). The remaining 30% of it is borrowed from the old EU (the new Thrawn books, TCW) or written by old EU authors like Timothy Zahn and James Luceno (Thrawn, and Tarkin). Where before, most new content of the EU was at least readable, most of the contributions under Disney have been nothing other than complete garbage, serving not only to wreck the integrity of the original films but also their own internal canon.
Even the old canon, at it's worst, wasn't as much as a total trainwreck Disney has taken the franchise. Everything became worse, the films, the novels, even the games have either been inferior attempts to cash in on superior offering from Lucasarts affiliate companies.

I think it managed to achieve a balance between the expected action of a duel between 2 masters and not be a backflip saber twirl fest of the prequels. Also it fix that thing of Obi Wan striking first (he's a jedi, a soresu user, etc) and put Vader back as the guy who does heavy blows instead as the guy with a handling a toothpic in the original movie.
