George's first big mistake was hiring Dave Filloni to shit all over the absolute art that Tartakovsky and his team created.

George's first real mistake was listening to the fags who shat on the prequels, in all honesty.

Both were equally poor missteps, but the worst was selling SW to Disney. That was really the biggest fuck up. No matter how bad things got, there always a chance for Filoni Wars to be dropped into S-Canon at some point in the future or for Leland Chee to keep fixing inconsistencies or better shows to take its place, maybe even a Genndy revival, but when Disney took over, any chance of that went out the window faster than a humming bird.

This. Plus, I don't get the rage over at least Filoni's Clone Wars ruining the canon, because you can see it as a spin-off series; ever heard of head-canon?and personally, I despise the multi-cult Mandoshit in the regular canon anyway.

>Btw, I hate the canon, fuck mandos, lol

And I bet you love the Darth Maul bullshit in that show too. The show was awful for a million reasons, but mainly because it didn't fit in with anything else. It doesn't even fit in with the movies, Anakin clearly never had a padawan. Filloni Wars was the beginning of the end for a cohesive Star Wars universe that was worth caring about.

For me it felt like a prototype for Disney Wars. It felt like the reboot they needed to kick things off which is odd since it was made years before even a deal was considered. Then again, Disney, Lucasfilm and The Jim Henson Company always had a rather close connection even before Disney bought either out.

I think he said in an interview that he was worried about how people would react to a sequel trilogy because he knew there were those who hated the prequels.

The latter makes sense due to Lucas being friends with Jim Henson and getting his help alongside Frank Oz. They really saved the day with Yoda. As for Disney, they were probably only being nice to him in hopes of one day owning Star Wars, which came true. It's like a woman showing her true nature after the marriage. Once Lucas said "I do", the mask slipped and the mouse tossed him aside.

As for Clone Wars not fitting it with most of what came before, it might've been more of a prequel reboot than rebooting all of Star Wars. I was watching this reviewer named sfdebris, and he mentioned how the prequels got off to a bad start because Lucas wanted a shot of Anakin leaving his mom to be a Jedi. That scene alone caused him to change the entire first movie and it had a domino effect on the other two. I'm sure he realized how bad that decision was in hindsight, so TCW might've been his way of starting fresh on the setting.

Its not prequel-hate to point out the flaws of something. I like The Phantom Menace, but I still think Ani's big space fight against the TF and Jar Jar's fart scene were very unneeded.

Thanks for admitting that you've watched the Phantom Menace, maybe once, and you can't even remember what actually happens in it. You retard brain has made you think the Eopie farting was actually Jar Jar farting.

The fart scene is the Eopie farting and Jar Jar making an annoying response to it; he's still involved and the scene, while brief, is still shit.

What the hell is wrong with you? I said "Jar Jar's fart scene" as in a scene about Jar Jar and farts. Its a pointless scene that completely downplays the glory and epic music of the flag carrying scene. The Eopie was honestly a ghastly-looking sight, but I could live without its far and Jar Jar's reaction to it. That's the only Jar Jar scene that I truly think is unneeded as its not even as humorous.

It's realistic. Have you ever been around animals? Horses, pigs, cows? They shit and fart 24/7

Jar-Jar's role was redone because of the shitflinging about his character.

Yes, but the camera didn't need to let us know what was going on behind the flags, you dipshit. Its completely unneeded. A better alternative would've been a shot of Ratts Tyerell's family from the deleted scenes to make his death more emotional.

There's no proof of that though, which is why I don't believe it. How do you even make Jar Jar any more important than he already is in AOTC? He certainly never had a place in ROTS. The Attack Of the Clones working title/script was actually called "Jar Jars big adventure" as a fuck you to the shitflinging.

The TCW Mandos were kind of interesting, though (at least when they weren’t being made to job for Felony’s orange waifu). Thought I read somewhere that the changes to their culture and appearance (as in their all being uniformically Nordic-looking humans) came directly from George himself?

Yes, as well as Jango not being a true mando, and I think it was because they were getting concerned over Karen Traviss and her strong attachment to Mandos and making them a part of almost everything in Star Wars. I think it was their way of avoiding a Penders-style lolsuit in the future. But it doesn't matter because later seasons and the Death Watch pretty much made Mandos return to form and the lore keeper made it clear that the pussyfist mandos had only recently gained power and fucked shit up for the true mandos, with the exile of the death watch types only being possible because of Republic help. And in the end, the pussyfists were a minority anyway.

Why does Karen Traviss get a bad rap just because she liked Mandalorians?

From what I can tell, working with other writers isn't her strong suit. What I heard is that she derailed one of the NJO or Fate of the Jedi books into talking about mandos or something. Also what>>27342 said.

You bookended it, it was Legacy of the Force, the series in between those two. There was a secondary plot in the series about Boba Fett, and instead of going after her brother right away Jaina spent pretty much the entire second-to-last book training on Mandalore. It really wasn't a big deal though, because the main plot was kind of trash, and the sideplot with Fett more interesting.

Like others have said, she's not a bad writer, far from it, she also went the extra mile by trying to create an alphabet and language for her faction which hardly any other writer went the extra length to do (40 fucking years and we never got a Huttese dictionary/language atlas while Trekkiefags got Klingon from the get-go), her problem is she can't take criticism and she doesn't work well with others. Everything has to be about her and her faction, which kinda makes her similar to George but far less willing to compromise.

>her problem is she can't take criticism and she doesn't work well with others

There's a simple solution to that. Just relegate her to stories about Mandalorians that don't cross over with other writers. Let her do Clone stories, and Mando stories, and Fett stories, but just tell her that she can't fuck with any of the other characters or ongoing plotlines.
