i think the worst part about snoke is they had serious potential. a highly powerful dark force user that managed to remain hidden from the galaxy during the events of the republic and empire, and had emerged from hiding to disturb the peace once more. dude could have been retconned to be like vitiate or some shit and it would have been better than what we got in the last jedi. all they literally had to do was insert a quick dialogue scene and that would have done it, but nope instead we get emperor motif (implications of palpatine?) and then death.

I don't like the idea of significant imbalances in the force after Return of the Jedi. I liked the Jedi Knight games because any dark siders were actually equal with light siders, so it was never out of balance. Disney's movies completely ignore everything that happened in Return of the Jedi, you could actually skip Return, going straight from Empire to The Farce Awakens, and it would make no difference since the Empire is back, the dark side is back, and nothing has changed since the original trilogy.

It is lazy. A creative person should say, 'okay, I can't do the Dark Lord Emperor thing because it was already done and RotJ established it can't be done as well.' It's a hologram but the meaning is plain: this emperor's even BIGGER.
