Hasn't there been any fan-restorations made of these versions? I think Harmy created a recreation but the quality was shit.

Not that I know of. I guess I never really tried looking hard enough for some because I really don't mind the quality of my films. I like them looking old and gritty. It makes it feel classical but that's just me.

Harmy's versions are not really that. They're just the Blu-Rays reedited to resemble the 97 Special Edition, they don't really look "old and gritty" but just compressed and blurry.
