No, Filoni's Clone Wars was alright, but this Genndy's is the only good official™ Star Wars cartoon there's ever been.

Filoni's was trash that was the beginning of the end for Star Wars. He ruined Mandlaorians, intoduced Ahsoka a character that made no sense, brought Maul back to life like a retard, ruined the Clones, and ruined a million other bits of lore. Fuck Filloni.

>ruined clones
Gotta disagree.
Having the clones be individualistic and actually human really shows how fucked the Jedi are given that they have no problem leading literal slave soldiers to their deaths and shows just how far the Order's fallen.
Plus it was entertaining and fun without being shit, but I do gotta agree that his handling of the Mandalorians was fucking atrocious, Ahsoka was bad and Maul was shit too.

I like TCW, but the Republic Commando books were way ahead of the curve with the clone drama thing (and I read the books for the first time AFTER marathoning TCW). Seriously, it's a direct upgrade, yet the first book came out in 2004. Should be essential reading for anyone even remotely obsessed with clones.

Making them individualistic did add a nice touch to them I guess, but in the end it also made them unrealistic. Episodes show them becoming more and more individualistic and capable of thinking for themselves yet there's only 2 clones who ever actually tries to rebel. With this kind of free will, not only are they an ineffective artificial army, but this makes them even dangerous. Their personal talks of "What are you gonna do once the war is over" plus complete ignorance to their short life spans should be incentive enough for them to start rebelling, at least in moderate numbers. The best course would've been to have clones partnered with regular humans/humanoids as enlisted soldiers, and we know they could exist and most commanding officers were neither clone or jedi, and have the humans serve as the individuals with free will who may even do a better job of coaxing clones into free will since the soldiers would spend time together 24/7 whilst the jedi regularly come and go. Even Kenobi himself dressed in trooper armor, so its believable that non-clone soldiers would wear the same thing.
Also, WHY with the brain chips? Why would they need those to kill Jedi? They've been raised and hotwired for maximum loyalty to the Republic without question, even when supposedly individualistic to the point where they'll even fuck over their own "brothers" for talk of rebellion. They should be aware Order 66 was a secret command where the Senate has recognized the jedi as traitors to the Republic. Have most of them slaughter jedi and the rest save them with the belief that the order is mistaken or that their respective jedi commander is not part of the betrayal. Even the novels did this better while still implying some level of individualism and brainwashing from birth.
Another grievance is that they're portrayed as individuals right from the start of the series in Yoda's first episode, and the war is still relatively fresh and Yoda still hasn't had time to bond with them, yet when they take off their helmets, they already have custom looks and nicknames. For best results if you really wanna push this individual shit, the series should've started with them all looking the same and with little to no individuality. Then as the series progresses to about the late second season or third season, have them go full individual with the unique traits starting to show up midway into season 2.

They weren't individualistic, though. Only Arc Troopers were. Read the comics that were actually good, you Disneytwat. Filloni fans are the exact same class of people as Disney fans.

Never said I didn't think it was trash. It was mediocre with only a handful of good episodes. The Ventress and Maul shit were just dumb and poorly executed. The EU did a better job at handling Ventress, and I'm sure a better author like Luceno could've done a better job of bringing back Maul. Yes, I know, surviving being bisected was fucking retarded, but I tend to lean on the possibility of him staying alive long enough using a method like Darth Sion's. What I don't buy is him surviving years without proper medical treatment and just slapping on a broken spider mech onto his torso, having remained a fucking torso for months before putting that thing on.
A better method would've been to use his anger to stay alive for a few more hours, then have his body fall into a drain or trash site for it then to be found by a droid who realizes Maul is still alive but just barely and dying, with only his hate giving him a few extra hours of life. Then whoever finds him takes him to a medical droid who then do their best to keep him alive and restore his missing organs with artificial parts. Once healed, he goes on a massacre and leaves the planet with none of that stupid shit. I mean, yeah, the whole idea of bringing him back is still unnecessary and retarded, but there were better ways to do it than that hack Filoni did.
And yes Filoni and his Clone Wars were basically proto-Disney, retconning a shit ton of things and being inconsistent with not just the EU and the Films, but even with itself, as some episodes even have continuity issues with each other. Yet people still praise that shit because of nostalgia (kids who grew up watching that shit are teens now…) and Ahsoka waifuism. I don't like Filoni's Clone Wars at all, but there are still 5 or so episodes that genuinely interest me. Like the one about the murder in the senate or Rookies. In fact, almost everything about that show was shit except the clones themselves until they pulled that brain chip bullshit. Only non-shit episodes that come to mind are ones about clones. Anything not about clones is almost guaranteed garbage. Anakin and Ahsoka episodes are the worst of the batch.

You are a shame to Sheevposters everywhere, Filoni fucking mauled Mandalorians (literally) obliterated Grievous and shoved his piece of shit OC pls no steal jailbait down everyone's throat, I can't stand the furfag but to pretend that what he did with clones wasn't at the very least decent is fucking stupid.

He also retconned Sith ghosts. George didn't approve them either, but people who worked on the show were still working on Revan and Bane ghosts, but Filoni stepped in and stopped them because he's a fucking faggot who wanted to honor George even though he became less involved after season 2.

It wasn't decent at all, it retconned better stories. Everything they did with the clones was worse than both the dark horse comics, and the 2003 cartoon.

Brain chips seem to be a logical outcome of making the clones more individualistic, since Palpatine still needs a way to control them. Before that, as you said, clones were portrayed as basically brainwashed from birth for loyalty to the Chancellor above all else. Both are still mind-control schemes that away the clones' free will, it's just that in one case, they are mind-fucked from birth, in the other they have an RFID chip that mind-fucks them upon hearing Palpatine's orders. It doesn't fundamentally change anything and people complaining about it always seemed a matter of semantics rather than logic.

To be fair, Revan being a Sith Ghost was fucking retarded seeing as "canonically", he ended up on the light side. Plus, bringing a blank slate character from an RPG into Star Wars canon is a moronic idea from the get-go.
