>Bob Iger admits he and Disney fucked up

>will no longer be making annual SW movies

>still producing shit with JJ and some new shitty film but will consider "going on a break"

Are we actually winning?

Winning would be Iger saying Rian is out. He didn't mention him. What he's saying is they're in 'wait and see' mode. The message is they want to see what happens with IX. If IX does well, they'll think Solo was a fluke. If it tanks, they'll shitcan Rian.

Maybe. They could be changing it around to be episode X. Are we still betting if Disney has the balls to split this episode in half?

Based on what kike kike has said, they didn't change anything and Iger here seems to be saying that isn't an option, that IX is it for a while. I think Lucasfilm doubled down and is doing the exact same story they came up with before TLJ released.

Highly unlikely, especially with kikes in charge. Would you count on Bob Iger to do the right thing? I sure as hell wouldn't but I can hope anyway

we haven't won until IX flops hard, the entire Disney Wars franchise crashes and burns, and Lucasfilm is defunct.

No. We won't have won until Disney sells Lucasfilm and whoever buys it reinstates the EU and declares the entirety of Disney Wars non-canon.

>Name one creative property Disney ever sold.

Disney barely owns anything original unless they bought it from someone else. All their most famous films are based on fucking public domain fairy tails and books. They have little to sell that was of their own creation. Their most famous property that wasn't copied, bought or adapted was Mickey Mouse and Mickey-related media.

Power Rangers you retard. Disney owned PR for 7 years before selling back the rights to the original owners. How can you possibly be this new yet so full of yourself?

Right, and there was even a Power Rangers Theme Park Disney built, just like they're doing with Star Wars. You dumb cunt.

No. As long as there's a chance JewJew or Rian will work on a future SW movie we're no where close to winning.

A billion dollar theme park which is already predicted to be a massive flop. Not to mention they still haven't been able to earn twice the amount of cash that they paid Lucas for the rights to SW, and the overall state of the franchise has fallen into mediocrity as they desperately try to keep this ship afloat. Power Rangers also received a lot of investment from them and even appearances at the theme parks, however Disney managed that into the ground and sold it back. Just admit you were wrong, you mongoloid.

Iger didn't mention anything about Rian's films as being a part of the film projects in the works, and so far JJ's leaks are being met with mixed to negative reception, so that's a step up. Also, I've been hearing that the film is supposedly going to have its own "Endor" but instead of Ewoks, it'll be be planet Africa with blacks as the native allies.

Exactly. At first it seemed like a good move, but they milked it too hard it proved unprofitable and they sold it back 7 years after the initial purchase. In order for something similar to happen, IX and the new park will have to be catastrophic bombs. The new Disney SW land (which isn't even based on any familiar planets) will likely be remodeled into a "Guardians of the Galaxy" park instead or something based on one of their new FOX IPs.

Best bit of the story is when they decided to sell it back and just gave zero oversight to the writing of their final series, letting the writers go wild and as a result produced a thoroughly entertaining show.

this is what I'm hoping for. I'm really looking forward to watching the fallout from IX, and youtube videos showing the star wars park mostly empty at peak hours.

Its an estimated disaster that's looking to be unprofitable. Do you even know how many billion dollar parks Disney has remodeled in recent years after the media they were based on failed, you retard? You're the dumbass living in a fantasy world if you are too fucking lazy to so much as look this info up on a search engine. Disney wasted billions upon billions on other park expansions which never even saw the light of day or ended up being remodeled at the last minute. You're only defense for Disney not selling is a fucking park, which to Disney, is expendable and can easily be remodeled into a Guardians of the Galaxy park if they so wished. Now please, stop acting like a retard. You were wrong. Its not that big of a deal.

Not even just park expansions, Disney has spent billions developing entire parks that never went anywhere (Disney's America) or took years and years to finally start turning a profit (Euro Disney). Then as you mentioned, there are plenty of park expansions that failed to take off (all the Disneyland expansions like Westcot that failed before they opened California Adventure (which also underperformed)).

If they think it's in their best interest to dump Star Wars, they'll do it. It all depends on who's in charge and what their whims are.

Yeah, one minor advantage of Disney being "too big to fail" is that the Sunk Cost Fallacy means very little to them. If Star Wars tanks, and it's looking like that's what will happen, they won't hesitate to sell.

I've recently gotten into watching theme park history channels on Youtube, Defunctland in particular. Kevin does a lot of research on old theme parks and rides, and his videos have very good production quality, the most recent ones in particular. He also seems to share our disdain with Disney taking any old creative rides or themed areas and replacing them with Star Wars or Marvel branding. The most egregious example of this I can think of is Euro Disney's Space Mountain, which used to be inspired by the works of Jules Verne and involved a Victorian-styled rocket blasting off to the moon. Now it's just yet another Star Wars-themed nightmare.

If you want to learn more, I'd recommend giving his channel a look. It's a rabbit hole that's easy to fall down, finding out about why different rides were created or shut down (hint: for Disney, a lot of it comes back to Eisner). I've embedded the Space Mountain video, but there's a Euro Disney video that gives more context that you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFE8RlKlLCE

If they were smart they would just make an "adult" disney world full of beardy beta favourites like Guardians of the galaxy, star wars and Iron man. Disney would be the family park and the sci fi land would be the soyboy park. They would make a killing.

>>21878

Disney may not dump star wars because it offers a competitor. At this point in time Disney owns the mainstream. They control basically everything main stream non-fiction wise. Selling Star wars would allow a rival to take it and deseat them.
