>Episode IX is underway, filming and as far as we can tell progressing nicely as rumours come out via Movieweb that not only will Episode IX be the longest Star Wars film so far, even longer than the 2.5 hour The Last Jedi, but that the final film in the 9 movie Skywalker cycle could potentially be split into two separate films, a’la the final Harry Potter movie.

>Episode X? That’s the new rumor floating around the outer husk of Star Wars 9 as we enter the second week of production starting tomorrow. Leaks continue to drizzle out of the Lucasfilm base camp, and the latest is that J.J. Abrams and his team are aiming to have the longest film in the franchise with Episode IX. It might be so long, it gets chopped into two movies.

>It is bringing back as many legacy characters as it can fit, with only Han Solo being left out as far as we can tell. Already confirmed to return are Luke Skywalker, General Leia, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, C-3PO and R2-D2. We also have the main gang from The Farce Awakens trilogy, including Rey, Finn, Poe, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren and General Hux. Lesser characters such as Maz Kanata and Unkar Plutt are also said to be back. Then we have Yoda and Obi-Wan returning and it’s heavily rumored that Anakin Skywalker will return in some form, either young or old, in the guise of real-life Hayden Christensen (to appease prequel lovers) or CGI motion capture Sebastian Shaw (to get old school fans pumped).

News sites are saying this piece of crap will be the longest film in the franchise's history and others are saying that the film will be the first to be split into two parts just like Harry Fucking Potter. The motherfuckers at Disney are going to milk this harder than the prize-winning Bantha and get every possible cent it may be worth out of it. Holy fuck.

Many people hated TFA as well (myself included) and a lot more after its initial release because the beer goggles of “holy shit it’s the first Star wars after 10 years” wore off and people saw it for what it was an inferior rip off of the OT. Therefore even if abrams directed the second movie, it would have been hated as well.

>>20827

>fan content nu-characters

Nobody likes the nu-characters or the storyline attributed to them.

>>20829

I think this will be done in part to get out of paying actors for another movie & the more obvious reason to attempt to right the ship after TLJ.

It will not work because they do not have a good writing team (fat stinky sjw cat ladies & some soyboys), they do not have a good director (mystery box hack nepotism hire), Disney CEOs actively want Soywars to push unpopular sjw propaganda and the foundation itself TFA, is rotten (no one likes nu-characters or story see above) therefore the next film will bring in less profit than what they want. The questions are how much less the next star wars will make? Can their gimmicks trick enough people into going to see the train wreck (legally at the movie theater)?

>>20835

So its either:

You can't kill off womyn characters that sexist

especially Kathleen's Boba Fett replacement who has died on screen in two different movies (TFA and TLJ) or characters that have died in real life such as Carrie Fisher.

or

TLJ never happened.

There should be a little skull and crossbones sign near the lava pool in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head, make the shit pile have TFA and Rebels plus SWTOR, Glove of Vader, Makeb, the Sun Crusher and Filoni Wars and the mansion should have the Skywalker ranch sign while OT and EU characters party in the window. I actually liked Hoth. My only issue was that it felt too populated. Maybe they should not have had the entirety of the map exist on a single open level and have it be divided between sectors/levels/loading screens on the planet implied to be very far from one another to imply there's nothing but endless wastes in between each area. I also would've liked it if they had done more with the volcanic area. Maybe add a small icy sea with a huge volcanic island in the center.

>>20882

I think its shitty, but I did enjoy the Glove of Vader. The Triclops thing just felt really off. Also funnily enough, there was a guy named Snoke in that novel.

Part of why they were so pissed back in the day was how this was the followup to Kotor 2. Then you had Drew Karpyshyn butcher Obsidian's sequel and stealing plot elements from it to use in TOR. After that, you had the era of Bioware when they were being the most condescending assholes in gaming. They were the studio to originally start the saying "we want Call of Duty's audience". DA2 was a disaster and all they did was deliberately argue with and piss off fans. This carried over to the beta and development of TOR. Bioware was incapable of acting professional under any circumstance. TOR would've been yet another mediocre mmo based on a beloved IP, but Bioware couldn't help themselves to pour gasoline on every fire they started in 2011 and 2012. That sheer level of asshole behavior on top of disappointment is why /v/ still won't admit to this day ever liking anything they've made to this day. It also didn't help how they were one of the first game studios to really jump on the progressive politics bandwagon.

I had no idea who the fuck this was, I thought it was that faggot that caught the R2 knock off in the net TBH. But looking it up its just something else that never made it on screen and found Hidildo saying this

>“I got to name him as part of working with [creature effects supervisor] Neal Scanlan and talking to the creature shop crew,” Hidalgo says. “We knew, with Star Wars being Star Wars, that we’d want a name and identify as many characters as possible for potential toys, potential storytelling, potential what-have-you.”

>“identify as many characters as possible for potential toys, potential storytelling, potential what-have-you.”

That order lets us know that the toys that still fill Toys'r'us were at the forefront of their mindset. I know Lucas always had the merch in mind, but I am fairly sure he didn't green light a bunch of toy sets and action figures that never had screen time. I always had the feeling he would approve all that stuff after the movie was finished.
