i don't think they really had their reps ruined, but them distancing themselves definitely didn't look good for either side. also trevorrow is the kind of guy i could see doing a boba fett movie, not james mangold. another thing i remember is that trevorrow was okay with the petition to bring lucas back for episode 9.
