Makes sense for whom, and in what context? It could be useful as a way to show just how far Jacen had fallen, where he killed Mara because she got in the way of his plans. And while Mara did nearly reveal Jacen's identity, and thus get in his way, that's not why he killed her; his driving motivation was to prove to Lumiya that he had completed his transformation into Shadow the Solo. And that's doesn't make a whole lot of sense from my point of view. There's a whole lot of Jacen→Caedus that doesn't make much sense while we're on the subject, particularly his reason for doing so:
