Aha that makes more sense!

i was wondering how one would spend 5 days alive crucified from Sunday to Friday.

Maybe confused with the 'Palm' and the nine inch nails through the palms

The palms were laid at his feet, which was a custom at the time for very important people like kings and stuff.

So on Palm Sunday we hold palm leaves in our hands while the priest blesses us to symbolize us welcoming the coming of the lord. (I think, my priest has a thick accent).

I* should reread things

I remember my first read of the bible made me really confused because it had little to do with most Christian religion rigor

Just go to Church and ask a priest. That's what I do. It's their job to know this stuff.

Only went to one in England when visiting old buildings, was beautiful though

my issue with religion is the interpretation. I've read the King James version, but maybe it was totally fucked from Latin, from Greek, from Aramic, etc.

Me mum talked about all sorts of Catholic shit that has nothing to do with what Jesus said, which makes me suspect about what modern church would say

still, would be nice to get another (educated) opinion on things

> I've read the King James version

Heresy, and it's fucking retarded to read too.

The New International Version, which is based on the Latin Vulgate (the true bible) is the best one to read if you don't want to be a total pedant about scripture (which is not the way).

>would be nice to get another (educated) opinion on things

reading the story of Christ in a book is so stale and dull. It's so much better to experience christianity in person, in a church, with a good priest dropping wisdom bombs like Obama dropped drone strikes.

I went to the stations of the cross Saturday morning, where you follow the story of the crucifixion from the point of view of mother Mary, and it's just such a moving and powerful experience. I cried my eyes out and I wasn't the only one.

Easter is the biggest deal in Christianity. Way more important than Christmas. So like I came in at exactly the right time. But to actually feel my sins taken away from me and to have it replaced with Christ's love for all of us is the REAL story.

It's not about reading passages and debating scripture. It really really really isn't. It's about forgiveness of sins and life everlasting on the day of resurrection.

>Easter is the biggest deal in Christianity. Way more important than Christmas

This is what blew my mind the most when reading the Bible

I grew up with X-mas being the big thing. Easter was a side thing to get some candy and have a week off of school.

Read the Bible and was confused why Christmas was literally less than 3 pages and nothing else.

I came to that realization myself just recently.

And also that souls aren't like sitting up on clouds or whatever watching us, they're resting until the day of resurrection when we'll all be brought back to life to live in the kingdom of heaven.

The Jews literally raped Christmas into being something that has literally fuck all to do with Christ. They just stole the IP and ran with it because it was more money for them.

I try not to hate them, but they're just disgusting.

The word Easter has no meaning in Hebrew, Aramaic, nor Greek.

It has zero to do with a magic Jew coming back to life briefly to do nothing.

It is a spring festival named for the Goddess Eostre/Ostara that got switched to a Christian festival after Goth-Barbarians took over the Catholic church and started a mass conversion of Europe. She's from an early version of Saxon paganism that borrowed heavily from the Norse (Odin/Tyr/Thor were major deities).
