I barely checked the news yesterday and I haven't checked it at all today. Right now I'm finding all of D.C. to be inconsequential. And to be honest it's really nice to have a break from it all. I've not been following the news all that much myself. It's kind of not my thing and never really has been. I go through fits and starts. I end up catching up with things sooner or later.

Not sure that the D.C. stuff is inconsequential. I've been coming up with quite a few different theories over the last few days. Few, if any would be very pleasing to most, I'll guess; but D.C. matters.

I have no doubt that the Eds are frustrated with not only us but a lot of things/people in general. They've been trying to get info out for a long time. Much longer than most realize. I should hope they're not disgusted with us her on this board. We're only human (kind of thing. You know what I mean), and I see that most here are putting much effort into trying to understand more, and better ourselves. We have our faults a many, but we're trying. How could that be seen as disgusting?

I've said it more than once: the more people evolve, the less they feel like they're changing at all. Everybody else sees it but subjectively evolution never seems to be occurring. I suppose you can see it indirectly when the entire world appears to be shifting and morphing before you. That can only mean your own vantage point is shifting and it's hard for that to happen without evolution.

Eds are no different than anybody else in that regard. They are a group, but the group is composed of individuals. Maybe it's time time consider a new approach - one where they will see more success (as that is defined by their own evaluations). You don't need to give up the goal before you can map out a new route to getting there. If all you ever do is run up against brick walls, then a new plan might very well be in order. But I'm hardly qualified to speak on that definitively as we know nothing about their success:failure ratio - other than their efforts to bring more people "into the fold" via QR and other avenues have not been seeing the best success, by their own accounts.

In my "most up" moments, I see things so clearly … I can't save the world and efforts to do so cannot translate to anything except trying to force the world where I decided it should be, in one or more areas. I doubt most who do that have any but the best intentions. But still, declaring where the world "needs to be," in and of itself, is dictatorship - no matter how pure the intent. But then you have the flip side of that: you could say "we are offering an alternative; those interested are welcome to join us," in which case you're not dictating anything. You're simply making one more alternative available.

But I always seem to come back to the same place: are their abilities, experience, and resources being put to the best use, as they determine that to be? I can't answer that. Not even close. Only they can. And nobody needs to be saved from their own decisions.

I always seem to come back to the idea that being the strongest link I can be in the chain is the highest offering I could make. Live the solution. Be happy. Do what I do best. Manifest what I'm passionate about. I become one less person needing saving and one more tiny beacon of light in the darkness.

My head is still spinning from what just unfolded in the past 24 hours … what just happened? Over the next week we're putting a new roof on the house; this one leaks in 5 places and almost prevented sale of the house because it's in such bad condition. A brand new fridge will be entering our kitchen - a very nice double-door unit with the slide-out freezer on the bottom. A new radiator and cooling fans on my car so I don't have to refill it every other day. A new computer case, power supply, and motherboard; the current case/power supply are 10 years old and look like they've already been junked, and the current motherboard, bought last year off eBay, has a graphics card slot that doesn't work so I can't use a graphics card. Have to use the very limited built-in graphics on this board. Just generating ("rendering" or drawing) the image for this bread took over 30 minutes. A huge leap forward in the overall quality of life just because a few days ago I decided to take my biggest dreams and start living them NOW to the best of my ability. Clear out the negatives and build the positives. What a result, and this is just the first week. :)

How could all this fail to dramatically benefit us? I can only speak for myself, and the analogy of being a grunt employee vs. being a manager serves very well as an analogy.

The employee whines and cries all day long about how easy the manager has it … how much money he makes … he gets to call the shots … and the employee therefore spends all day every day angry and resentful.

Then one day the employee is promoted and becomes the manager. Oh vuggin no.

Don't.

Look at the people who are there. They present a shiny, polished image for public consumption; an image that is as fake as it is perfect. It's a fairy tale. It doesn't exist in real life.

Nowhere on this Earth will we enjoy more peace, more freedom, and an overall better quality of life than is to be found being an absolute nobody at the bottom of the cultural ladder. When you are there, you've arrived. You're as close as you're ever likely to get to Utopia. Many of your friends will be real people who are truly in your life because they like you and they care about you.

It will never get any better than it is just being an employee, or a quiet business owner (which in itself is one step into the ugliness); being an average citizen whose name few will ever know.
