Court documents obtained by Breitbart News revealed that prosecutors named Piedrahita in a 1996 federal indictment against the Cali Cartel. He also had an active arrest warrant from June 20, 1996, until October 21, 2011, when he managed to get the drug trafficking indictment dismissed.

To get the criminal charges dismissed, Piedrahita and another Colombian drug lord, Juan Carlos “Cabezon” Velasco, gave $20,000 in cash and several prostitutes to a top-ranking U.S. Homeland Security Investigations agent in the area. Court documents revealed that HIS Agent Cristopher Ciccione was the case agent for a large-scale drug trafficking operation targeting the Cali Cartel called Cornerstone.

Velasco arranged for a meeting between Ciccione and Piedrahita in Bogota where the drug lords treated the agent with expensive dinners, drinks, and prostitutes in order to get him to help them avoid prosecution.

The theory was a perfect fit for RAND, an organization that continually sought to impose objective reality on an irrational world. Another genius, mathematician Albert Wohlstetter, came up with the fail-safe concept, which saved the world from nuclear conflagration several times. The idea called for a series of checkpoints for bombers armed with nuclear weapons. If a bomber pilot failed to receive confirmation at any checkpoint, he would abandon the mission and turn the plane around. Once, in 1979, a mistake by a telephone operator led to a transmission that the United States was under nuclear attack from Moscow. Ten fighters from three separate bases took to the air armed with nuclear missiles. But in the end, because of Wohlstetter's fail-safe system, none of them deployed their weapons.

Through the years, RAND's sphere of influence became more visible. In the 1960s, Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara hired scores of its young researchers—dubbed the "Whiz Kids"—to reorganize the Pentagon. 21 EU Heads of State Sign ‘Stronger Europe’ Manifesto Demanding More EU Integration

21 heads of state of various European Union member-states have signed a new manifesto arguing for more integration in the political bloc and a “stronger Europe” — interpreted as a response to the rise of eurosceptic, pro-sovereignty populist parties.

Among the signatories, according to Italian newspaper Il Giornale, are several monarchs such as those of Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark, as well as many presidents, including Italian president Sergio Mattarella.

“European integration has contributed to realising the centuries-old hope of having peace in Europe after unbridled nationalism and other extreme ideologies have brought Europe to the barbarism of two world wars,” the manifesto claims.

The manifesto is seemingly the latest attack by establishment figures on the rising populist movement in Europe. Trump Is On The Verge Of Flipping The New York Appeals Court To Conservative Control

The Senate confirmed Judge Joseph Bianco and Michael Park to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, putting President Donald Trump on the verge of flipping the panel to conservative control.

Bianco and Park are Trump’s second and third appointees to that panel. If Trump fills the remaining two vacancies on the 2nd Circuit, Republican appointees will control the court. The two were confirmed with separate votes Wednesday and Thursday.

The 2nd Circuit is the federal appeals court that covers Connecticut, New York and Vermont. Given its jurisdiction over Manhattan, the 2nd Circuit has a large and important docket of corporate and securities law cases.

Though Trump has replaced appeals judges at a record clip, he has only flipped the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to majority Republican appointees.

Both men represent Republican determination to move judicial nominees into key posts at a steady pace. New York Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand withheld so-called blue slips for Bianco and Park. Under past Senate convention, the Senate Judiciary Committee would not convene a confirmation hearing until senators return an opinion on a judicial nominee selected for a court in their state.

Liberal groups said the GOP disregarded Senate tradition for partisan advantage, though Republicans say the blue slip rule has been enforced irregularly in the modern period.

I need a second/third… opinion on this. I’ve been in and out, so I apologize if it’s already been discussed. It’s rather verbose, but necessary.

Why is the Trump Administration going after Whistleblowers and it seems their journalists? The recent indictment against Daniel Hale, who reported the abuses of the Drone program under Obama, make it completely unsafe to be a Whistleblower. Now, I personally worked in an environment, for many, many years, where the thought of anyone leaking information was unconscionable. I still will not discuss what I worked on to anyone. Jeremy Scahill made some very bad (or intentional) decisions on keeping his sources protected. Yet, it appears he may be in jeopardy due to Hale coming to him about an Intel job. As the article goes on, there will most likely be no Indictments against Scahill due to the association the Intercept has with the Government. The open indictment against Assange makes the case he doesn’t have the same protection and could be prosecuted. Assange has a boatload of Intel you know the Intel groups would love to keep quiet.

California Parents Take A Page From The Union Handbook, Organize ‘Strike’ Against Sex-Ed Overreach

California teachers in the Sacramento City Unified School district are planning their second single-day strike of the year to demand – what else – an increase in education spending and salaries to stave off cuts. The Golden State is no stranger to teacher strikes. The Los Angeles Unified School District also began the 2018-2019 school year with a teacher strike. The complaints are always the same – not enough money, not enough benefits, not enough classrooms. Regardless, the strikes have always been successful. LAUSD teachers managed to extort yet another pay and benefits raise despite the district’s credible claims that they simply couldn’t afford any spending increases at all. Los Angeles is now set to vote on additional property taxes in order to cover the new agreement.

Now California parents are taking their cues from the union’s strategy and organizing their own “strike” in protest of the explicit and controversial new sex ed curriculum currently being implemented across the state as a part of the deceptively titled California Healthy Youth Act.

On May 17th, Informed Parents of California (IPOC) will lead a student sit-out aimed at the coffers of the state. A significant portion of state and federal education funds are dispersed on a “butts-in-seats”, meaning schools and districts only get paid for “excused absences” or for children physically being in school. California parents across the state are being encouraged to keep their children home for the day without calling in the absence.

At issue is the graphic nature of the new curriculum framework and the political ramifications. An IPOC “bullet points” list of particularly concerning elements of framework includes the promotion of sexual pleasure, the promotion of masturbation, normalization of anal and oral sex, and the promotion of transgender/gender identity ideology beginning as early as kindergarten. IPOC founder and president Stephanie Yates says the curriculum goes too far in sexualizing children and cutting out parent involvement and notification. She contends that such discussions are inappropriate for a classroom setting in which parents are not present. Yates believes it is a purposeful division.

They are pre grooming our children for pedophiles, creating customers for planned parenthood and collaborating to still [sic] our children from us by stripping our parental rights away and creating division between children and parents.

The grassroots group has already organized two protests in front of the state capitol building in Sacramento. On March 28th close to 500 parents met on the steps to hear special guest speakers and concerned parents vocalize their objections to a curriculum that has been described as explicit, pornographic and deeply inappropriate for minors to be discussing with adults while parents are not present. The protesters then walked to the Department of Education to register public comments with the Instructional Quality Commission before they voted to advance the curriculum framework to the final stage of approval.
