DENVER AIRPORT/TOWER ROAD LANDFILL DIG

The landfill located off of Tower Rd. two miles west of the Jeppesen Terminal was added onto in the early 2000’s despite the airports appeal to the District Court against the landfill in 2002 which claimed that it was an FAA safety hazard. The landfill has a functioning element to it but is “mocked-up” to look like a landfill hidden in plain sight. There isn’t much garbage in the landfill and is otherwise spotless.

Now hear me out, I've been performing civil engineering design and land development assignments for over 15 years now and for anyone to say that a landfill has gone from virtually brand new to over 300 feet high in a relatively “short” amount of time - well that immediately piques my interest.

Does a landfill exist 2 miles west of the airport on Tower Road? Answer = yes. At least there appears to be signs, vehicle accesses, 6 foot high barbed wire fencing throughout and indeed a monstrous pile of 'earth'.

The first thing I noticed was how "dirt-like" the giant 'earth' pile appears to be. Now I don't know about you folks, but I've been watching the landfill in my own town grow for over 25 years and believe me garbage can still be seen at the bottom levels of the pile. The landfill in question looks perfectly like 'dirt' and it has perfectly formed terraces as the pile grows. I couldn't locate a scrap of garbage waste on the sides of the pile.

The second thing I noticed was the conspicuous absence of any kind of groundwater/environmental monitoring equipment ANYWHERE. The operating authority of this so-called landfill should be held to task for what appears to be a severe failure to monitor the place for any leakage, gas buildups, slope stability, etc. At the tiny landfill in my hometown by comparison there are monitoring stations on the side of the refuse heap about every 30-50 feet horizontally with a couple of rows going up. Keep in mind our landfill is nestled on two sides by rising mountain slopes. The landfill in question rises straight up out of what appears to be a relatively flat and soft-soiled landscape. All the more reason in my opinion to be monitoring all sides of such a ginormous pile of land. Any pile of pure garbage that high would have major potential for internal and slope instability issues. But again there only exists perfectly graded terraces of generic looking dirt with no monitoring equipment at all.

From the environmental side, any regulatory body worth a red cent would have REQUIRED substantial mitigation in the form of an elaborate diaphragm surrounding the entire site to keep hazardous leaching materials from escaping into the local waterways and going underground. In my hometown, at our little landfill, this environmental diaphragm is quite visible as it needs to capture surface runoff also AND physical monitoring equipment is also visible at consistent offsets running down the line. I can't see anything at all on the 2 sides of this so-called landfill that are visually accessible from GoogleSV.

And finally, at our hometown landfill we just installed chain-link fencing and barbed wire in selective places in an attempt to stave off the hungry bears in the neighborhood. By my reckoning the so-called landfill in question could see a bear coming for days (perhaps I'm wrong), so what would be the satisfying answer for the installation of thousands of linear feet of fencing, with, and here's the kicker; barbed wire topper ANGLED IN?!?! Designers are of course well aware that if you want to keep people from trespassing into your property you angle the barbed wire OUT. Angle-out is the best option, for INTRUDER prevention.

So why does this landfill site have the barbed wire "ANGLED IN"? Remember that thousands and thousands of linear feet were ordered, paid for and installed, this was not an accident.

WHO WOULD BE TRYING TO ESCAPE A LANDFILL???

For sure the strangest thing about the DIA for me is this so-called "landfill"…

CEOs aren't spending to buy back their company's stock so they can get richer: Goldman

Leave it to one of the most powerful investment banks on the planet to try and debunk the long-held belief among politicians that wealthy CEOs are trying to get richer by buying back their company’s stock.

Executives whose compensation depends on the performance of earnings per share didn’t allocate a greater proportion of 2018 total cash spending to stock buybacks than companies where management pay is not linked to earnings per share, according to new research by Goldman Sachs.

Of the 247 companies in the S&P 500 with incentive compensation plans linked to EPS, Goldman found they spent a smaller share (28%) of their total cash outlays on buybacks versus the 253 firms without performance tied to EPS (32%). The 49% of S&P 500 companies with EPS-linked compensation accounted for just 44% of total 2018 stock buybacks of $360 billion.

“One of the greatest misconceptions in the public discourse surrounding corporate buybacks is the belief that managements only repurchase stock in an attempt to inflate EPS and meet incentive compensation targets. However, the facts do not support this story,” contends Goldman Sachs strategist David Kostin.

Goldman’s snazzy data will likely do little to temper building outrage in Washington D.C. that big companies used the cash influx from the Trump tax cuts to buy back stock. Doing so has the effect of reducing the share count of a company, lifting earnings per share, and depending on the company — lifting yearend bonuses for management teams.

Okay, but if dropped today what might be the conclusions of Mueller's Report and what possible indictments be included? However, we probably shouldn't expect the Horowitz’s OIG report to include those indictments either. But we might conclude that both reports will lay the foundations for public acceptance of Huber's indictments following either in conjunction with or shortly after the IG report.

If Democrats thought that 'censoring' Ilhan Omar for her anti-Semitic statements was the way to get her to stop, they've got another thing coming.

Actually, their repulsively watered down resolution, explicitly triggered by her claims that Jews hypnotize the world, Jewish money ("all about the Benjamins, baby") controls U.S. politics, and U.S. Jews have dual-loyalties to Israel, has only emboldened her to step up new lines of attack, this time in slamming the sincerity of people who really are concerned about anti-Semitism, calling it "faux."

This, fresh from that watered-down resolution passed on Congress is Omar in action, her actual response to the whole thing, stepping up attacks on people who criticize her anti-Semitism as a justification for herself. In Omar's fevered mind, those people are the "real" hypocrites, and she's the victim. What they say couldn't possibly be what they feel. In fact, their outrage is actually fake.

Omar has gone from attacking Jews directly to attacking non-Jews who defend Jews.

Sound like she's changed any since the resolution? Sound like she's going to stop? Sound like she's going to change her ways? She doesn't even sound like she's embarrassed.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed the "incompetence" of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for a major blackout that left the capital and parts of multiple states without power on Thursday.

Pompeo's criticism came on Twitter Thursday evening after Maduro and his administration's Electricity Minister Luis Motta Dominguez blamed the outage on sabotage and "American imperialism," according to CNN.

"The electric war announced and directed by US imperialism against our people will be defeated. Nothing and no one will be able to defeat the people of Bolívar and Chávez. Maximum unity of the patriots!" Chavez tweeted, according to a translation.

"The power outage and the devastation hurting ordinary Venezuelans is not because of the USA," Pompeo responded Thursday night. "It’s not because of Colombia. It’s not Ecuador or Brazil, Europe or anywhere else. Power shortages and starvation are the result of the Maduro regime’s incompetence."

Authorities with Maduro's government blamed the outage on an attack at a hydroelectric power plant that provides the country with about 70 percent of its electricity, according to CNN.

13 FEB 2019 Planned Parenthood Kept Babies Alive in order to Harvest Brain & Heart

In an undercover video, a former technician for a tissue-harvesting company details how an

aborted baby was kept alive so that its heart could be harvested at a California Planned

Parenthood facility, raising more legal questions about the group’s practices.

Holly O’Donnell, a former blood and tissue procurement technician for the biotech startup

StemExpress, also said she was asked to harvest an intact brain from the late-term, male fetus

whose heart was still beating after the abortion.

A StemExpress supervisor “gave me the scissors and told me that I had to cut down the middle of

the face. And I can’t even describe what that feels like,” said Ms. O’Donnell, who has been

featured in earlier videos by the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life group that previously

had released six undercover clips involving Planned Parenthood personnel and practices.

David Daleiden, the video project leader, said the undercover footage and interviews show that

fetuses are sometimes delivered “intact and alive” before their organs are harvested.

The federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002 says that when a child is born alive,

including having a beating heart, he or she is a legal person and has a right to lifesaving

medical care.

California law also prohibits any kind of experimentation on a fetus with a discernible

heartbeat, said the Center for Medical Progress, which is calling for the federal government to

cease its $500 million a year support to Planned Parenthood and for it to be investigated.

“Today’s video is especially gruesome, and it shows, once again, the barbarity of what takes

place at Planned Parenthoodclinics across the country,” said Rep. Joseph R. Pitts, Pennsylvania

Republican and chairman of the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on health, one of several

congressional panels investigating Planned Parenthood.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Utah Republican and chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform

Committee, said Wednesday that all the videos are “disturbing,” and his committee’s

investigation will look into whether “any federal funding supported transactions involving fetal

tissue.”

“Top-level employees of Planned Parenthood admit to changing their procedures to harvest intact

bodies of unborn children for body-part trafficking,” said Rep. Trent Franks, Arizona Republican

and chairman of the House Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution and civil justice.

Mr. Franks and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, Virginia Republican, also said

Wednesday that they have written to 58 Planned Parenthood affiliates. They are seeking 10 years

of data about all abortions, late-term abortions, “born-alive” infants, fetal tissue collections

and any modifications of abortion techniques to “increase the odds of preserving intact fetal

tissue and organs.”

Five states— Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Utah and New Hampshire - already defunded Planned Parenthood.

US Air Force’s new trainer jet could become its next light-attack or aggressor aircraft

ORLANDO, Fla. — The U.S. Air Force’s new T-X jets could be more than just trainers, with aggressor or light-attack missions now on the table for the Boeing-made plane, the head of Air Combat Command said Thursday.

Although buying new T-X trainers to replace the more than 50-year-old T-38 fleet still remains a top priority for that program, the service is beginning to explore whether the T-X could be procured for other uses, Gen. Mike Holmes said at the Air Force Association’s Air Warfare Symposium.

“You could imagine a version of the airframe that could be equipped as a light fighter. You can imagine a version that is equipped as an adversary air-training platform,” he told reporters during a roundtable.

"At the informal level, I have some guys that work for me that are thinking through what the requirement might be for those different versions. When or if that transitions and becomes something more formal will depend on a lot of things,” he said, adding that one of those variables is the budget.

So what T-X variants could the Air Force pursue?

A light-attack T-X

The Air Force still hasn’t made clear its path forward on the light-attack experiment, but leaders have said they want to broaden the effort to include aircraft beyond the turboprop planes, which were the focus of the first experiments. The T-X, or a low-cost jet like it, could have a role, said Holmes, who declined to get into specifics until the fiscal 2020 budget is released with more details.

UN demands full investigation on France’s ‘excessive force’ against Yellow Vests

The UN human rights chief called Wednesday for a “full investigation” into the possible excessive use of force by French police during the “Yellow Vest” demonstrations.

“The ‘Gilets Jaunes’ (Yellow Vests) have been protesting what they see as exclusion from economic rights and participation in public affairs,” rights chief Michelle Bachelet said in her annual address to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

“We encourage the government to continue dialogue – including follow-up to the national discussions which are currently underway – and urge full investigation of all reported cases of excessive use of force”.

Yellow vest demonstrations have taken place across France since November. The protests began over fuel taxes but mushroomed into a revolt by people in rural and small-town France against President Emmanuel Macron’s policies.

The IGPN, the body that investigates police abuses, has launched more than 100 investigations into the conduct of officers during the protests.

In the so-called great power competition with Russia and China, defense experts have worried that the United States is at a disadvantage because those countries are not subjected to the same contractual and legal hurdles as the Pentagon when it comes to adding new tools and weapons.

But the Air Force wants to change that and their solution plays off the popular television show “Shark Tank,” where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch solutions and win contracts in minutes, not months or years.

The Air Force’s pitch days, powered by the Small Business Innovation Research Program, looked to solve problems within the portfolios of Program Executive Offices Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces and Digital.

The first of such events took place in New York City March 6 and 7. The Air Force awarded 51 proposals in 15 minutes or less, David Shahady, Air Force SBIR/STTR Program Director, said March 7. In one day, the Air Force awarded $3.5 million, including one contract in just three minutes.

“What’s most exciting is that we’re also doing things faster. That’s what pitch day was really all about,” he said. “It was about pushing the limits and trying to make the process of working with the government easier. Simplifying our contracting was the number one thing associated with that.”
