There is a certain paradox when you contrast Trump 47 with Trump 45.
Trump 45 won with big ideas that resonated with a wide swath of Americans.
Many didn't see it coming, as they never imagined that DONALD FUCKING TRUMP would or could do that.
But he did.
And yet the adminstration seemingly got staffed with an unimpressive lot that never got much done.
Staffers tied to the MAGA-agenda (like Bannon), had already gotten the boot before Q even appeared.
Trump 47 flips it around.
The staffers are more competent and impressive by far.
Low-level stuff actually seems to be happening.
The border is secured, deportations are in progress, fraud is being exposed, etc.
Yet Trump's own messaging is farcical.
He focuses on things that are simply idiotic (honors for himself, renaming AI), seemingly well-intentioned projects given far too much attention (minor beautification projects, minor financial tweaks),
outright lies (Epstein "hoax", affordability "hoax"), and vast unfinished stuff that nobody asked for (war with Iran).
Meanwhile, his personal behavior is growing so erratic that his professional haters don't even know how to add anything to the joke.
He seems to be a more ribald version of the pro-corporate, pro-war Republican party that he purported to replace.
And contrary to his recent claims, MAGA has quite simply nothing to do with the man Trump, but means MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

A “bad actor” tried to breach the system, according to a Federal Election Commission email, disrupting political finance disclosures for two days during the final week of campaigning.
The Federal Election Commission said on Wednesday evening that the agency had restored its electronic filing system, two days after a hacking attempt left candidates, parties and political action committees unable to report campaign donations and spending during a historically expensive advertising cycle.
The agency switched off its web services late Monday because a “bad actor” was attempting to breach its systems, according to an email sent by an F.E.C. official that was obtained by The New York Times. The hack was reported earlier by Reuters.
The system remained down into Wednesday. The F.E.C. reported about 5 p.m. Eastern time that it was running again. An F.E.C. spokesman confirmed the outage but declined to say whether a cyberattack had caused the problem.
The outage left the public uninformed about spending in federal races less than a week before Election Day, a time when advertising expenditures typically accelerate before voters go to the polls.
“It’s a serious problem that this information is not being made available to voters right now” while early voting is underway in some states, said Stuart McPhail, director of campaign finance litigation at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a nonpartisan government watchdog. “Voters are going to vote without the full picture that the law entitles them to.”
In the 20-day window before an election, House and Senate candidates must report donations of $1,000 or more within 48 hours of receiving them, under federal law. PACs and other groups must report certain expenditures of $1,000 or more within 24 hours after they are publicly disseminated.
