As of September 2025, a federal grand jury investigation has been launched by the Department of Justice into allegations concerning Obama-era officials and the 2016 election. Accusations and the grand jury probe
Trump and Gabbard's claims: In July 2025, President Trump and DNI Tulsi Gabbard accused former President Obama and his officials of manipulating intelligence related to Russian interference in the 2016 election. Gabbard described their alleged actions as a "treasonous conspiracy," and Trump publicly called for Obama's criminal prosecution, accusing him of treason.
Intelligence report: In July 2025, the DNI's office released a report alleging that officials in the Obama administration manufactured intelligence regarding Russian election interference.
