Sarah Szold Boasberg (1937-2012), known to her friends as Sally, passed away at her home in Washington, DC, on March 28, 2012, surrounded as her husband Tersh wrote, by "her family, her garden, and the flowers of Spring."

Sally could always be counted on for her probing intellect, determined opinions, crisp humor, calming disposition and genuine warmth. Sally took a remarkable bite out of life and was a greatly beloved friend. On behalf of The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s Board and staff, I wish to say how very deeply saddened we are at her passing and extend heartfelt condolences to her husband Tersh, her children and grandchildren.

"The strike was fatal": Russian drones destroy Ukrainian oil refinery

An oil refinery in the city of Merefa, owned by the Kharkiv-based investment and industrial group AES Group, was attacked by Russian drones on the night of 17-18 March.

Details: According to AES Group, approximately 20 drones were launched against the facility, with the strikes lasting for two hours.

This was the fourth attack on the refinery since February 2022.

Prior to the latest strike, the facility had been operating at only 10% of its capacity, but following this attack, it has been completely destroyed.

The company stated that the strike was fatal for its business.

Elizabeth Leslie Manson, a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James G. Manson of Cambridge, Mass., was married yesterday in New Hampshire to James Emanuel Boasberg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Boasberg 3d of Washington. The Rev. Bradford Abernethy, a Baptist minister, officiated at the Old Meeting House in Francestown.

The bride, 25 years old, is keeping her name. She was an associate at J. P. Morgan & Company in New York and is to join the San Francisco office of the MAC Group, a management consulting concern in Boston, in October. She graduated from Yale University and received an M.B.A. from Stanford University. Her father is an orthopedic surgeon in Cambridge and Boston. Her mother, Mary Manson, is an English teacher at the Winsor School in Boston.

Mr. Boasberg, 28, has been a clerk for Judge Dorothy Nelson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, Calif., and is to join the San Francisco law firm of Keker & Brockett in October. A graduate of Yale, he received a master's degree in modern history from Oxford University and a law degree from Yale. His mother, Sarah Boasberg, is a garden designer. His father is a partner in the Washington law firm of Boasberg & Norton.

Russian drone attack cuts power in Ukraine

Thousands of people in central Ukraine were left without electricity on Tuesday following a countrywide Russian attack involving more than 130 drones that damaged critical infrastructure.

Kyiv and Moscow have recently escalated cross-border drone and missile attacks despite a US-led proposal for a 30-day ceasefire to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The governor of the Zaporizhzhia region, which the Kremlin claims as part of Russia, said around 3,000 people were cut off from the grid following the attack, which he said damaged critical infrastructure.

The governor of the neighbouring Dnipropetrovsk region, on which Russian forces have been closing in, said the barrage resulted in a fire at another critical infrastructure facility.

In Kyiv, authorities said the debris from a downed Russian drone landed in the courtyard of a school at the beginning of the school day. Pupils were in shelters at the time of the attack, they added.

The Ukrainian air force said it had downed 63 out of 137 Russian drones.

Russia’s defence ministry meanwhile said that 46 Ukrainian drones used in overnight attacks had been neutralised.

The strikes, which targeted several regions of Russia, wounded six people, according to local authorities.

The attacks came shortly before Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump were due to hold talks on a potential ceasefire to the fighting in Ukraine.

Russia’s forces occupy swathes of its neighbour’s territory.

The 46 Ukrainian drones were “destroyed or intercepted” over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk near the Ukraine border, as well as over Orlov, the ministry said.

In the city of Belgorod, a man was seriously wounded by falling drone debris, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

Five people were wounded in Kursk when drones struck near a truck transporting bread, interim governor Alexander Khinstein posted on Telegram.

Ukrainian Sniper Shoots Down Russian Drone with .308 Caliber Rifle

A sniper of the 3rd Company of the Materik Battalion shot down an enemy drone with a .308 caliber rifle in the Kharkiv region.

The Operational Tactical Group Kharkiv released the video of the incident.

According to reports, the Ukrainian sniper fired at the UAV with a .308 caliber rifle in the Vovchansk sector.

According to the video, it took him only a few shots to hit the Russian Mavic drone, which was conducting reconnaissance or coordinating the actions of Russian invaders.

It should be noted that the Russians could have also used the enemy drone to drop ammunition on Ukrainian positions. Therefore, shooting it down is very important for many reasons.

As part of the updated basic general military training program, new recruits have started learning methods to counter enemy strike drones, including exercises in camouflage and self-defense using pump-action shotguns.

In October 2024, the SAFARI HG-105 semi-automatic shotgun was codified for use in the military. The weapon is designed to shoot down enemy drones.

The weapon is designed to use 12-gauge ammunition with a magazine capacity of 5 or 10 rounds. The rifle weighs a bit over 4 kilograms.

The duty and responsibility for ascertaining the quality of the consent rests upon each individual who initiates, directs, or engages in the experiment. It is a personal duty and responsibility which may not be delegated to another with impunity.

2. The experiment should be such as to yield fruitful results for the good of society, unprocurable by other methods or means of study, and not random and unnecessary in nature.

3. The experiment should be so designed and based on the results of animal experimentation and a knowledge of the natural history of the disease or other problem under study that the anticipated results justify the performance of the experiment.

4. The experiment should be so conducted as to avoid all unnecessary physical and mental suffering and injury.

Board Member of POLITICO’s Foreign Parent Company Says He’ll Interfere in News Coverage.

A technology mogul based in Spain, who sits on the board of the German company that owns the American media outlet POLITICO, publicly admits that he is using his position to influence the corporate news outlet’s reporting to align with his personal political views.

Martín Varsavsky, an entrepreneur and philanthropist born in Argentina, wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that POLITICO‘s recent coverage of Israeli airstrikes is not pro-Israel enough and that he will use his influence on the board of the American outlet’s German parent company Axel Springer to rectify the coverage.

How Covid “Vaccines” Paved The Way For mRNA Cancer “Vaccines”

With the end of the “pandemic”, mRNA vaccine manufacturers realised the money hose was about to be turned off and they would need a new one.

The unprecedentedly speedy development and approval of the various Covid “vaccines” -- most using previously unsuccessful mRNA technology – is considered a scientific miracle by ardent followers of The ScienceTM.

Many others -- us included – see it another way: one of the greatest scams ever perpetrated against a scared public, and a potentially incredibly dangerous and even deadly one.

But the damage done by that process doesn’t stop at the Covid “vaccines” themselves, they have opened the door for more and more “vaccines” to be rushed to market. That includes potentially “bespoke cancer vaccines”, of which there are currently hundreds of medical trials taking place around the world.

Earlier today Wired published an interview with Lennard Lee, oncologist and director at the Ellison Institute of Technology in Oxford, headlined:

It’s quite an interesting read.

For one thing, if I’m understanding Dr Lee’s words correctly, these products aren’t really “vaccines” [emphasis added]:

In the current trials, we do a biopsy of the patient, sequence the tissue, send it to the pharmaceutical company, and they design a personalized vaccine that’s bespoke to that patient’s cancer.

They don’t prevent people from getting cancer, they are used to treat people who already have cancer. Meaning they’re not “vaccines” in the true sense of the word at all.

This echoes the Covid “vaccines”, which are known to prevent neither infection nor transmission of “Covid”, but only “limit severity” (the reason they can’t prevent transmission or infection is that “Covid” doesn’t really exist, but we’ve covered that enough).

It seems the assault on words and their meanings that took place during Covid is going to have knock-on impacts for a long time yet. That, indeed, was the point.

Later, we learn just how fast all these cancer vaccines have been produced…

Cancer vaccines weren’t a proper field of research before the pandemic. There was nothing. Apart from one exception, pretty much every clinical trial had failed. With the pandemic, however, we proved that mRNA vaccines were possible.

Cancer vaccines were not a “proper field of research” before the pandemic. It was the *ahem* “success” of the Covid “vaccine” which spurred the creation of mRNA cancer vaccines, so they have existed for -- at absolute most – three years. And Dr Lee expects them to be approved in less than five [emphasis added]:

…over the next six to 12 months, we will monitor the people in the trial and work out if there’s a difference between the people who took the cancer vaccine and the ones who didn’t. We’re hoping to have results by the end of the year or beginning of 2026. If it’s successful, we will have invented the first approved personalized mRNA vaccine, within only five years of the first licensed mRNA vaccine for Covid. That’s pretty impressive
