Comedian Jon Stewart flipped out after President-elect Donald Trump posted a humorous promotion for his fragrance line using a viral photo of First Lady Jill Biden looking admiringly at Trump during their recent visit to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France.

On Monday’s episode of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show,Jon Stewart didn’t find Trump’s ad funny at all, saying it was “beneath” the president-elect.

“Trump was apparently traveling with his predecessor’s wife, attending the opening of the Notre Dame Cathedral with Jill Biden,” Stewart said in his opening monologue. “It was a rare moment of conciliation. One that would have given this country hope had it not been immediately undermined by the returning president releasing an actual cologne ad belittling and sexualizing said moment.” (Why would he assume they travelled together, what a weird statement?)

“You fucking won! You won!” Stewart later added. “You don’t have to push merch anymore. I find it hard to believe I’m saying this, but it’s beneath you.”

As Breitbart News reported, Trump posted to X on Monday a humorous ad promoting his line of fragrances for men and women.

The ad features a photo of Trump and Jill Biden chatting at the re-opening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Saturday, with Jill Biden looking admiringly at Trump.

In late August 2017, a category 4 tropical cyclone called Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas and Louisiana, killing over 100 Americans and inflicting $125 billion in damages. The heavy rains and high winds, which peaked at 130 mph, made Harvey the costliest natural disaster ever recorded in the Lone Star State, and matched 2005’s Hurricane Katrina as the costliest in our nation’s history. The extraordinary wreckage resulted in more than 42,000 displaced Texans seeking refuge in shelters across the state. A 2018 study conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Episcopal Health Foundation found that at least fifteen percent of the hundreds of thousands of homes that were damaged remained uninhabitable one year later.

Perhaps no place was hit harder by the storm than the city of Dickinson, located about 30 miles south of Houston in Galveston County. Over three-quarters of the city found itself underwater after only three days of catastrophic flooding, the result of an unprecedented 55 inches of rainfall. In an August 25, 2022 news report, Fox 26 Houston recalled the scenes of devastation and the heroic actions of the city’s residents amidst the chaos:

When Hurricane Harvey’s torrential rains hammered down, no community was arguably hit harder and deeper than Dickinson. In a matter of hours, a full 85 percent of Dickinson’s homes and businesses were inundated with water. Calls for rescue soon followed. Hundreds of them. Police Chief Ron Morales remembers clearly the outcries. “People crying desperately for help. It was like someone had a gun to their head fixing to pull the trigger fear,” said Morales. And the calls kept coming. . . Short on rescue crafts and surrounded by rising water, with no way in or out, Morales put out the call for help. What happened next, is the stuff of legends. “They just came in boat after boat, after boat. To me, all the volunteers were the heroes. Everybody that volunteered and there was countless, countless people,” said Morales.

It may be hard for Americans to believe but shortly after the historic disaster, Dickinson city officials informed their fellow townsmen that signing a loyalty pledge to Israel, a foreign country located over 7,000 miles away, was a prerequisite for receiving federal relief funds. As reported by BBC News (Oct. 20, 2017):

Local officials say the pro-Israel clause is required under a Texas state law enacted earlier this year. . . In the four-page recovery aid application posted on the city’s website, a section reads: ‘By executing the Agreement below, the Applicant verifies that the Applicant: (1) does not boycott Israel; and (2) will not boycott Israel during the term of this Agreement.’ Boycotting Israel includes any action intended ‘to penalise, inflict economic harm on, or limit commercial relations specifically with Israel,’ according to the law. The law, known as the Anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestments, and Sanctions) bill, was signed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in May. ‘Anti-Israel policies are anti-Texas policies, and we will not tolerate such actions against an important ally,’ the governor said in a statement earlier this year.

A federal judge has halted President Joe Biden’s plans to open the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, to illegal aliens enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

In May, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announced a final rule to open Obamacare rolls to some DACA illegal aliens enrolled in the program. Former President Barack Obama first created the DACA program via executive order, shielding more than a million illegal aliens from deportation through the years.

On Monday, District Judge Daniel Traynor granted a preliminary injunction and stay to ensure that Biden’s agencies cannot implement such plans while the issue makes its way through federal court.

“This decision is a big win for the rule of law,” Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach (R), who led the lawsuit, said in a statement:

Congress never intended that illegal aliens should receive Obamacare benefits. Indeed, two laws prohibit them from receiving such benefits. The Biden administration tried to break those laws. But we fought back and defeated the Biden Justice Department. [Emphasis added]

Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia had joined Kansas in the lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration.

The preliminary injunction is particularly significant as President-elect Donald Trump is expected to throw out the final rule once taking office in January of next year.

Prior cost estimates have suggested that should about 100,000 DACA illegal aliens enroll in Obamacare, it would cost American taxpayers about $300 million annually. Other estimates have put the annual financial burden at about $2.8 billion.

Hundreds of deadly virus-filled vials have been reported missing in Australia

Hundreds of vials containing live viruses have gone missing from a laboratory in Australia, sparking an investigation.

Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls announced today that 323 samples of live viruses—including Hendra virus, Lyssavirus and Hantavirus—went missing in 2021 in a “serious breach of biosecurity protocols.”

The breach was discovered in August 2023, with nearly 100 of the missing vials containing Hendra virus, which is deadly. Two of the vials contained hantavirus, while 223 vials contained samples of lyssavirus.

The leader of the free world is back.

Strolling into the impossibly restored Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, President-elect Donald Trump soaked up every eyeball of attention. World leaders whispered. First ladies blushed. Billionaires pointed. Fashion models swooned.

There he was, risen from the ashes, stronger than ever. In that moment, Mr. Trump looked as inevitable as the stone walls and spires around him reaching for the heavens.

The bad boy former president, mug-shotted felon, assassination survivor and social media smack-talker swanned into the richest ceremony in the world wearing a gold tie, black overcoatand the fearlessness of the most powerful — and most famous — man on the planet.

It took five years and more than $1 billion to restore Notre Dame. Mr. Trump did it on less than half that budget and in a quarter of the time. And he did it all by himself.

A one-man phoenix.

Princes, presidents and prime ministers begged for an audience with Mr. Trump.

Even French President Emmanuel Macron, whose show it really was there in Paris,surrendered to the true king. Mr. Trump crushed him with a handshakeas if King Kong were ripping down a tall building or swatting a biplane from the highest perches of the Empire State Building.

Mr. Macron was just happy to get his picture with Mr. Trump and offered him a seat beside his own first lady.

Speaking of first ladies, American first lady Jill Biden was there, too. Her husband is the current president of the United States — on paper, at least. But he was in Angola, asleep.

Two seats away was the closest she could get to Mr. Trump. They chatted amiably, and she looked upon him with the adoring face of someone meeting the person she had just voted for in the last election.

In case anyone worried that Mr. Trump’s rise from the ashes might humble him and suddenly make him conform to the rules of politics, he quickly dashed those concerns.

He took the picture of a glowing Mrs. Biden looking at him amorously and posted it on his Truth Social platform to promote his line of Trump Perfumes and Colognes. The caption of the picture read: “A fragrance your enemies can’t resist!”

Truly, this world does not deserve Mr. Trump as our leader.Perhaps an even better caption for that photograph emerged from the eternal, crowdsourced genius of the internet.

As Mrs. Biden looks at Mr. Trump, with her daughter beaming behind her,

Mr. Trump is saying: “So anyway, after my shift at McDonald’s, I bought a garbage truck.”

Mr. Trump is a one-man show. But that is not to say he doesn’t run with an entourage — his own Rat Pack of billionaires, bad boys, geniuses and iconoclasts. Conquering Europe with Mr. Trump over the weekend was Elon Musk, who has developed a bromance of visionaries with the leader of the free world.

Mr. Trump could team up with Mr. Musk and offer a new product in his line of perfumes and colognes.

Trump Musk, it would be called.

With Trump Musk, anything is possible. Never say no. The entire galaxy in a bottle. Spray or eau de parfum.

To sell the new product, they could use another picture from the weekend at Notre Dame: Mr. Trump holding court with a grinning, dorky Mr. Musk. Swooning coyly beside him is Italy’s lovely firecracker prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, blushing and giggling.

Mr. Trump stands before them, pointing as if to say, “You two make a terrific couple.”

Indeed, with Trump Musk, anything is possible. And you can always get a good deal on it.KEK

What, exactly, is generative AI and how can it improve Space Force Guardian readiness in an era of Great Power Competition?

These were the foundational questions driving the inaugural U.S. Space Force Generative AI Challenge, an eight-week combination of AI crash course and problem-solving hack-a-thon that engaged 350-plus participants, delivered 11 learning sessions, and produced three finalists that will present their generative AI solutions — and compete for first place — at this year’s Space Power Conference, Dec. 10 - 14 in Orlando, Florida.

As AI applications like ChatGPT gain popularity among a general populace looking to save time and effort on everyday tasks, the Department of Defense is embracing the use of more specific and/or sophisticated iterations across a range of applications.

Recognizing that the rapid pace of change in this area requires the DoD to be agile and adaptive in its approach, DoD’s current focus is on experimentation and rapid deployment to achieve the best solutions for the nation.

Enter the Space Force Generative AI Challenge

What began as an idea at the senior leadership level developed quickly and organically through grassroots volunteers including Capt. Jake Schneider, chief of portfolio, platform, at Space Systems Command based in El Segundo.

“Word kind of spread through the grapevine that ‘hey, we want to do a Space Force GenAI challenge’ and as someone with previous AI experience, I was in,” Schneider said.

“Before you know it, this network of volunteers kind of happened and we started making the phone calls and getting the right people in the right spots.”

As the program evolved and readied for launch, organizers recognized that interest in AI within the ranks extended well beyond super coders and other like-minded “techies.”

“A lot of people had very little background in AI but they had a huge interest and wanted to learn more,” Schneider said. “So, we organized an educational series that happened one or two times per week over Teams where we brought in experts from the field.”

Some of the sessions were introductory. “We’re talking, ‘explain it to me like I’m five,” Schneider said. “What is generative AI? What are the differences between AI and Generative AI? How can we use AI to automate tasks, improve decision making, or create content?”

Other sessions delved more deeply into the technology itself, covering the mechanics of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), open-versus-closed source query platforms, and the computational processing power required for more advanced applications.

“In one way or another, we were all there to learn,” Schneider noted.

The hybrid-virtual and hack-a-thon like competition kicked off on Sept. 12, with in-person events and live-streamed feeds from El Segundo, Washington, D.C., and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Registered teams were challenged to create solutions to Space Force problem statements leveraging generative AI.

Problem sets spanned a wide array of disciplines, from mission-focused topics like space battle management and launch to general business administration and quality of life issues such as childcare.

Participants were equally varied, representing DAF, OSD, SAF, JS/J6, CYBERCOM, SPACECOM, INDO-PACOM, CENTCOM, SOCOM, NRO, MDA, DARPA, NSDC, Army Futures, AFRL, the Marine Innovation Unit, FORSCOM, and Army DEVCOM.

“We had participation from just about every branch of the military,” Schneider said. Military, civilian and contractor personnel, with some participating from as far away as Ramstein Air Base, Germany.”

At the end of the eight-week challenge, three proposals were elevated to semi-final status. Two of the three finalist teams are from SSC: they include members of SSC’s Atlas Office and Space Launch Delta 45.

The third team comes from U.S. Air Forces Europe – Air Forces Africa. All three are headed to the Space Power Conference in Orlando for selection of the final winner.

And all three demonstrate the wide range of applications for generative AI solutions, from health and fitness to data management to language translation. Here’s a quick re-cap of the three:

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - A coalition of business owners and organizations filed a petition with the Missouri Supreme Court Friday, which aims to overturn the voter-approved minimum wage increase and statutory requirement for employers to provide paid sick leave benefits.

In a press release announcing the legal filing, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the measure would “increase prices for consumers and impose significant financial burdens on businesses,” claiming the policy will open the floodgates of “frivolous lawsuits” against employers.

The Chamber was joined by the Associated Industries of Missouri, the Missouri Forest Products Association, the Missouri Grocers Association, the Missouri Restaurant Association, and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in filing the petition.

“While Proposition A is bad policy and will have extreme and detrimental effects on Missouri’s businesses, that is not the basis of this action,” the petition states. “Instead, the election irregularities and the constitutional violations are so significant that the election results must be overturned and Proposition A must be declared invalid………”

N.J. military base had 11 ‘confirmed’ mystery drone sightings, Army says

Picatinny Arsenal, the Army facility in Morris County, has had 11 confirmed sightings of unauthorized drones flying over in its airspace in recent weeks, military officials said.

The first confirmed sighting at Picatinny witnessed by a police or security officer at the arsenal was Nov. 13, five days earlier than previously reported, Army officials said Monday.

Seven other sightings remained unconfirmed, including one reported Friday at the military research and manufacturing facility in Jefferson and Rockaway Township.

“While the source and cause of these aircraft operating in our area remain unknown, we can confirm that they are not the result of any Picatinny Arsenal-related activities,” said Lt. Col. Craig A. Bonham II, Picatinny Arsenal Garrison Commander.

It is illegal to fly unauthorized drones over military bases. The FAA added additional drone flight restrictions over Picatinny and Trump National Golf Club in Somerset County last week.

The sightings at the Army facility were among the earliest reported in a flood of drone sightings in recent weeks around the state.

Residents have reported multiple drones flying over the same areas of New Jersey each night along with unusually large drones, the kind not usually used by hobbyists, over some areas.

It is unclear if the drone sightings are related. Gov. Phil Murphy and other law enforcement officials have said there is no evidence the unexplained drones pose a threat to the state. The FBI is investigating the sightings statewide, including the reports at Picatinny Arsenal.

Murphy said there were 49 reports of drone sighting statewide on Sunday, but some of those turned out to be planes mistakenly identified as drones. Investigators were looking into the other reports.

Picatinny Arsenal released a list Monday of the dates of 18 sightings, including the 11 confirmed incidents.

“Confirmed” means a police officer or security guard “visibly witnessed a drone” while or after receiving the report, military officials said.

Picatinny Arsenal’s list also includes seven “unconfirmed” reports of drones, which means a police officer received a call but was “unable to verify the object upon arriving on the scene,” Army officials said. Two of the unconfirmed reports were listed as “aircraft.”

Bonham said Picatinny Arsenal officials immediately began investigating the initial reports, with several local, state, and federal partners.

The FBI, the lead agency in the investigation, did not immediately respond to a request to comment on the sightings at Picatinny.

The Picatinny Arsenal Police Department received the reports of the evening drone activity.

Confirmed sightings occurred Nov. 13, Nov. 18, Nov. 19, and Nov. 24, when there were two, as well as nightly between Nov. 28 and Nov. 30.

There were also two confirmed sightings on Dec. 3 and one on Dec. 6.

There were two unconfirmed sightings Nov. 26, one Dec. 2, three Dec. 4, and one Dec. 6.

At Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck, officials said they are actively monitoring the drone sightings.

“While we have received reports from our neighboring communities and law enforcement partners regarding drone activity near the installation, there have been no reports of drone activity in the airspace above Naval Weapons Station Earle at this time,” said Bill Addison, a spokesman for the station.

Officials at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Burlington County referred questions about whether the base has had any drone sightings to the FBI.

While County Councillors won’t hand Reform a great deal of power immediately, having such a grassroots force is essential to wider electoral success in the United Kingdom and lacking this layer has been cited as a major factor holding back Reform and Farage’s previous party incarnations in the past.

Authorities Taking Mysterious UFO Sightings In New Jersey ‘Deadly Seriously,’ Governor Says

Authorities are taking sightings of “very sophisticated” unidentified flying objects (UFOs) that have unnerved residents in New Jersey “deadly seriously,” Governor Phil Murphy said on Monday.

Nighttime sightings that have reportedly gone on for weeks have prompted investigations, FAA flight restrictions, and 21 mayors demanding further transparency from Murphy on what is happening.

“I don’t blame people for being frustrated,” Murphy told reporters, adding that officials from “all levels of government” including the FBI and Homeland Security Department are looking into the matter.

Last week, the FBI released a statement stating that it was seeking any information from the public on “the cluster of what look to be drones and a possible fixed wing aircraft” along the Raritan River.

Murphy, a Democrat, emphasized that officials do not see anything that would warrant public safety concerns.

“Having said that, it’s really frustrating that we don’t have more answers as to where they’re coming from and why they’re doing what they’re doing,” he added.

The governor said there were 49 sightings on Sunday night, but noted he believed the figure to be inflated with a fixed-wing plane mistaken for a drone and multiple people reporting the same object.

“So we think these are overstated, but it’s a non-zero number,” Murphy said.

Murphy said he was involved in discussions with the White House and Homeland Security leaders “pretty much all day” on Sunday.

“I’m hoping that we’ll get answers sooner than later,” he said. “I would just ask folks to continue to let the FBI or their local law enforcement know when they see something.”

What people are seeing are “apparently very, as I understand it, very sophisticated. The minute you get eyes on them, they go dark,” Murphy said.

“We’re obviously most concerned about sensitive targets, and sensitive critical infrastructure,” he said. “So we’ve got military assets, we’ve got utility assets, we’ve got the president-elect — one of his homes here.”

Murphy was alluding to President-elect Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, where “car-sized” drones have reportedly been seen nearby.

“This is something we’re taking deadly seriously,” Murphy said. “We’ve gotten good cooperation out of the feds, but we need more, and that was my plea.”

Murphy pledged to be transparent once he knows more.

“The minute we know something, I’m not going to hide it under a bush,” he said.

Murphy said he was not aware of any “nefarious drone” crashing, adding, “If there is one that’s crashed, could someone please call me and let me know where that is?”

The governor did acknowledge “rumored downings,” noting that one turned out to be a toy and another was not found.

“Having our hands on equipment that’s on the ground would be helpful, no question about it,” Murphy said.

A UFO appeared to drop off little orbs as it flew across the Arizona night sky, before disappearing into thin air.

The 24-second clip, uploaded to Reddit, shows a large well lit object dropping glowing orbs as it moved through the skyline on Friday, December 6.

Then, once it makes its second dispatch of bright items, the strange craft appears to suddenly vanish into thin air.

Naturally speculation about what viewers had just witnessed was pretty fervent in the thread which followed.

Theories ranged from the aforementioned little orbs, through to molten material released by alien aircraft, before heading back to outer space.

The sighting comes hot on the heels of several flashing balls of light filmed over Washington DC in what appeared to be a "no-fly zone.

One user wrote: "I love to see a UFO pootin' off little orbs.."

Another said: "Not orbs. It's some sort of discharge of molten material that seems to take place before they vanish.

Plenty of reports about this phenomenon on the web."

A third added:: "I saw the same thing .above Lockheed and NASA Moffett Field in Sunnyvale CA. Dropped about 2 dozen little lights at the same altitude and darted off."

And a fourth opined: "Believe me I’m not usually the one that says “it’s a flare or lantern” but in this case it looks like whatever it is is on fire and embers dropping down.

However, one potential killjoy pointed out a drone event which was taking place in the the area that very evening.

The evening was set to include a drone light show.

L.A. Times Columnist Quits, Accuses Owner of ‘Appeasing Trump’

Los Angeles Times columnistHarry Litmanhas announced that he is leaving the paper, accusing it of “appeasing Trump”because of owner Patrick Soon-Shiong’s attempt to restore nonpartisanship and fairness to its coverage.

As Breitbart News reported, Soon-Shiong directed the paper not to endorse a presidential candidate, and told Fox News last month that hewas replacing the paper’s left-wing editorial board because he wants “all sides to be heard.”

Litman wrote at his Substack:

I have written my last op-ed for the Times. Yesterday, I resigned my position. I don’t want to continue to work for a paper that is appeasing Trump and facilitating his assault on democratic rule for craven reasons.

My resignation is a protest and visceral reaction against the conduct of the paper’s owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong. Soon-Shiong has made several moves to force the paper, over the forceful objections of his staff, into a posture more sympathetic to Donald Trump. Those moves can’t be defended as the sort of policy adjustment papers undergo from time to time, and that an owner, within limits, is entitled to influence. Given the existential stakes for our democracy that I believe Trump’s second term poses, and the evidence that Soon-Shiong is currying favor with the President-elect, they are repugnant and dangerous.

Soon-Shiong’s most notorious action received national attention. The paper’s editorial department had drafted an endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Soon-Shiong ordered them to spike it and make no endorsement in the election. (Soon-Shiong later implied he had just ordered up a factual analysis of both candidates’ policies, but that’s at best a distortion: he plainly blocked an already drafted Harris endorsement.) It is hard to imagine a more brutal, humiliating, and unprofessional treatment of a paper’s professional staff. Three members of the editorial page resigned in protest and 2,000 readers canceled their subscriptions.

The Times has been suffering a decline in subscriptions over time, partly owing to a shift among readers away from newsprint, but also because the one-sided nature of its coverage has alienated readers who are not left-wing voters.
